Lucky they took the unused ones. You never know where they might end up. Or what, for that matter.

A Non-O or Non-OA holder is nothing more than a long-stay tourist age 50 and older. It makes no sense for Thailand to welcome retirees earlier since their demographic is very susceptible to Covid-19.
I could point out that being 50 or older does not necessarily make you 'susceptible' to Cv19 and it certainly doesn't affect one's ability to transmit or catch it. Are you trying to say that they shouldn't let them in because they're all going to die?

Pattaya only for 15,000. Anywhere else is 20,000+. I've no idea why.
My neighbours paid 12 & 15 to different agents in Phuket. I paid 25 once years ago to a big law office here - was 15 to start with until they had my passport.. 10 more to get it back months later. Then the IO told me it was fake. Luckily he knew my wife, but still not cheap.. Never again!

Well.. They got my 1900 baht last week and I'm 'safe' for another month.
If only they'd allow processing of short term to long stay visa within Thailand.. I'd just apply for a 1 year extension based on marriage and relax a little.
You can with the 60 day marriage extension plus 400k in a Thai bank. Presumably you're on the VOA 30 day + 30 day extension, so you should still have the 60 day 'family visit' one left.
I asked at Phuket about the 'income method' and that only applies for subsequent visas, i.e. first year 400k seasoned for the requisite period and following years 40k/month minimum income from overseas.

It was very clear that the deadline was 26th September. Either you complied, like any sensible person would have done, or you didn't, in which case you deserve the fines. The immigration have been extremely lenient during these times to help.
There won't be any fines. Immigration did their job and the government introduced the necessary amnesty. Pretty clear.

I rented one in India years ago (obviously British produced), it took some getting used to.
It would have been Indian produced unless it was made before 1947 (or 1955?). I owned a 1964 one and swapped it for a new at the time 1996 model half way round a tour of India (covered the cost of my whole trip). They were identical. I quite liked the gears and brake being the wrong way round, but then I am left-handed.. I adored them.

maybe you know it but i used to do TM30 there where everytime i need to bring piles of documents from the owner who is not easy to catch and sometimes have to queue up a long time. One friend just added me on his house online with nothing more than my passport and thats good enough. You can also ask your tenant to create the account for him on the website and register yourself when necessary. ( just print screenshot incase they ask... ) I think you need only his ID card and blue book to register the account. Was a dream to not have to do it with them at the counter. And at the counter you need A LOT more documents for some unknown reasons ....
I have had problems in the past: in the last weeks before lockdown I was refused a TM30 three times and never quite sure what I was missing. I did discover that the husband of a relative of my landlord had been using my address for more than the 11 years I've lived there.. Still Patong sorted it within 5 minutes, with a smile.

Agree its beyond utterly farcical that people are letting it go down to the wire despite multiple warnings.
Not at all. No problem waiting to the last day as long as you have proper grounds for visa extension. The IO here actually told me to come back on Friday, to get the extra 2 days.

Far better to wait until the last minute as proven here in Phuket.

right , and then they complain that immigration is overcrowded the last week. Or people blame farangs for doing it the last week...
For Covid extension at 1PM they were giving tickets to come back the day after. Luckily it wasnt that crowded for family extension
Exactly. The correct thing to do is wait until the last minute unfortunately, otherwise you lose visa days. It wasn't that long after 1pm that they started issuing Covid visa tickets for Friday too. Family extension was straightforward and even with having to do my TM30 update (photocopies of yet extra forms took the longest) I was there for less than 2 hours.

I have the same stamps, from Phuket. The official recommended I went back on Friday if I wanted longer, but a bird in the hand, as they say..

Ah! Another cunning conspiracy theory.
With a flaw, Baldrick.
But please explain how in your "opinion" an expiry date could possibly enhance sales.
On the contrary, expiry dates could mean sellers can not get rid of old stock.
Fairly obvious, marketing for the producer, not the stockist who gets stuck with expired stuff.

Good luck to anyone trying to cling on with those types of visas.
Immigration sees right through these schemes and it only takes one officer to take a disliking and the rug gets pulled from under you.
I would say if you are not here properly and legally with the correct visa then it is time to consider returning home.
In fact I would extend that advice to everyone not doing 90-day reporting or on PR.
What about those here properly and legally, who live here and are married to a Thai, with no other home to 'return' to but with just a 30 day TV from March? Many like me were on the verge of leaving, i.e. not needing a long-term visa for the time being due to work overseas, but couldn't due to other borders closing, then the Thai one. I'm British but haven't lived there for over 25 years. And no, not all in Thailand or even SE Asia. Income not an issue either.

Qatar flies pretty much everywhere. No one has any excuse.
Just what is it that people like you and warcy etc have against other people who happen to be here, often in unplanned circumstances? Quite bizarre how terms such as 'unscrupulous' and 'abuse' are being levelled at people who have to be somewhere and quite possibly have no other home due to peripatetic careers or just their own choices. What on earth gives you the right to criticise an entire cohort of visitors on the basis of what visa they happened to hold on a particular date? They may as well be here as anywhere else at the moment. I'd certainly prefer to be here right now than in Europe with winter and a new flu season fast approaching.

Use 400k I bank method for extension as some folk having trouble income method.
Ok thanks Dr Jack. I may ask the local IO about their policy regarding that first (Phuket) as I do prefer to just transfer from my Singapore account as I need it, but not a major issue.

You apparently entered visa exempt and got a 30 day entry not a 15 day visa on arrival.
There is no 90 day emergency visa you can apply for. They can only be issued for specific reasons to qualify for a one year extension such as retirement, working, attending a school, working as a volunteer and etc.
Only a 30 day special extension is possible with a letter from your embassy that would start on the 26th of this month.
Hi Ubonjoe,
I am in a similar situation. I did a visa run just before lockdown to get a few days extra as a job abroad was delayed, and then got stuck here, which was a good thing, it turned out, but am now getting a bit concerned about the next extension. I am married to a Thai and have not used the 'visit the wife' extension. Can I still apply for that or do I have to hope that there is either a new amnesty or to qualify for the 30 day special extensions?

The anti-mask demonstration outside the Mother's Market & Kitchen came a day after California surpassed a staggering 600,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Many were left baffled by the fact the women were unwilling to wear masks inside stores, particularly as their state struggles to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

Most all this water did wash things into the sea. Many countries also load their trash on big boats and take the trash out to see and dump it.
Not really likely to negotiate a u-turn around Singapore.. It comes from Malaysia and Indonesia. Neither country's populations seem to be remotely concerned about plastic waste clogging up their coastlines and the sea south of Phuket down the length of the Malacca Straits is always covered in it. I've sailed it many times and generally get chunks of netting and rope round the props at some point, usually near Langkawi. The SW monsoon and currently strong winds are bringing it up here.

Some 72% of respondents agreed Scottish First Minister and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon was doing very or fairly well, while only 20% said that for Johnson.
So not a divided nation after all.
Most of us think Sturgeon is doing well.
And most of us think Johnson is useless.
And most of us want independence.
How will you feel when, with independence, your taxes go through the roof? Already higher than England but kept rather quiet. Scots with the wherewithal are quietly buying English property to class as their primary residence.

Phuket is an island not a city. The taxi prices are displayed openly and I would pay 800 bt to go home from the airport, or just under 20 pounds. Not too bad for an hour in a newish Corolla, or 50km. Generalising about the prices on a diverse island covering 224 sq km is rather ridiculous. Phuket town is largely for locals and priced accordingly. You haven't been, have you? Foreigners going straight to Phuket Town from the airport are hardly ordinary tourists. Backpackers heading for the ferry port en route to the backpacker hell of Phi Phi, generally.
