You misunderstood.  I have little time for those that come up with ideas that only suit their own, personal circumstances....

Yes, I could come up with my own, personal ideas that suited my own circumstances ???? - but I care about others in different circumstances, and am nowhere near selfish enough to do this.

Well maybe it's best that way. Talking about another circumstance without knowing or experiencing it fully may not be easily done but a problem shared by many will provide a clearer picture and help you understand the plight of others and this could help identify the many issues many fear they may face.

If the bill smart thread is true then people 50+ who may be here on a retirement visa but have no pension means but say rental income. They are done if they cannot prove their funding source is a pension.

You're very wrong, as I've always expressed compassion for other peoples' circumstances...

e.g. I can meet the new requirements, but feel very sorry for those that will have difficulties meeting the new rules.

Ok but you said the thread was pointless and only individual circumstances would be shared. Not sounding very compassionate at all. So if you said that which you did. I'm not wrong.

This is a pretty pointless thread as obviously, everyone is going to come up with ideas that suit their own circumstances....

I suspect that probably the only thing upon which everyone can agree, is that 90 day reports are a stupid, waste of time?

No you are just very cynical and show little compassion for other people's circumstances. I don't like the idea of retired people being beaten with a stick and the truth is if you have made this place your home and then you are forced to leave, that's not an easy feat for a youngster let alone a retiree.

Transferwise is a fintech company with close to 500 million USD funding.

And there's loads of them transfermate etc etc and if those transfers in Thailand are not recognised as international payments and creates uncertainty amongst the many IO offices then that's a good reason to capture the local market but the truth is if they had that kind of swagger they would abuse it and take advantage of the market the same way banks do, unless they developed it further as TW has. Fintech with 500 million funding is nothing they are taking on the banks using the banks own systems and winning. Ubers a 40 billion IPO and they are nothing in thailand. With the way we are led to believe things are done here how difficult would it really be to get the immigration to adopt a universal system that is cost effective for proof of funds source. It would also completely wipe out the dodgy agents unless the dodgy agents colluded with the proposed thaitransfer system. Seems like more good than bad can cone of it and it would help all parties whilst making money.

Plus, the Nation, same as any business, would be asking themselves 'will it bring any additional worthwhile revenue?'

The nation could open an FSA or Thai equivalent payments system exactly like transferwise and handle the payments as international transfers to ensure that aspect is handled in the interests of the long term stayers. Appreciate they are not a bank but transferwise was not anything 6 years ago and is only acting like an Intermediary account.

I'm not sure how big the nation is but if it's a 65k income method monthly x 50k on that method that's about a £10 fee per transfer. It could then develop from there to showing FET transfers for property purchases which would be much bigger charge wise.

Line is a media company and they have payment gateways. It's a good way to further engage audiences and build trust.

Must admit I have seen this before on several products, almost as if they told by HO to sell them, report to HO they did not sell, had to discount them and never seen again. They don't seem to want to sell anything new even if it sells and the mark up is good, unless of course, its Thai, trading skills of the lazy on view on a daily basis.

If it did well it would just be copied like all supermarket products. I must say though fisherman's friend has always been there. Halls are a good price here too. 25p/10 baht. Same packs are £1 in UK.

Well, I'm not afraid of the bear. It took me about 40 years to learn this, but I discovered that's it's good to be the guy with some money set aside when everyone else is broke. There are some incredibly cheap opportunities that present themselves in those circumstances.

I agree and I have had the same idea. I have seen Indictators local to me too but I think it's worth waiting a bit longer to see how much of a sprawl the current climate has on appetites.

I wont expect too much from this announcement, they wont be UK prices and they wont be competing with local products. The Waitrose prices in Central reflect the cost of importing and this will be the same, still there will be the option to buy.

Rubbish the option to buy will be there for a short time and it will be discontinued very quickly. It's a flash in the pan.

  9. Big C are trying to play hardball with the cheese. Back up to 209 baht from a steady price of 185 baht last year. That's the 250g block. Elsewhere on the aisles impressed with pricing of most stuff but beans are a  no go. Moving along to the jams and spreads there's deals to be had. This pineapple jam we buy comes in a half pint style glass cup with a nice handle, brucey bonus as the jams decent too. Skippy peanut butter does the job for me snackwise and a jar lasts a month (roughly 12 sandwiches) at 199 baht it's decent. Fresh juices are getting better in price and variety we stick with 100% juices - peach is my favourite. Not of a dilemma at present with the cheese as my Mrs has perfected the mac and cheese and we got a massive kiln type pot to cook it in and I'm refusing to buy the cheese from big C. I'll hit macro for the cheese I think but I need a caution to this ongoing problem as I just cannot rely on big C when it comes to cheese.

Another way to look at it is the way I look at it, ie: all wealth is relative. Whether it be the wealth of individuals or the wealth of nations. You would not be wrong to state that the US government are profligate spenders and their taxation policy is an abomination with regard to their upcoming liabilities. But you have to ask yourself the question, "compared to whom"? It's a bit like when you and your buddy encounter a malicous bear in the woods. You don't have to outrun the bear, you only have to outrun your buddy.

BTW, those decrying the relative strength of the THB should keep this in mind.

No I'm pretty sure it's between you and the bear.

If it’s a foreign company, I email the world headquarters.  It just happened the other day with a Swiss company.  I waited two weeks, and the Thai division wouldn’t tell us when they would fix it-at first it was parts, then no answer to phone calls.  I emailed them and the Swiss headquarters, and it was fixed 2 days later

The Swiss cheese actually has holes in it though

I'd love to be able to afford Heinz Beanz AND digestive biscuits.  When friends/family visit I always ask for the above and roll-on deodorants which are double the UK price thanks to Thai cartels.

Yh but versus all the things that don't cost a packet in Thailand. Means you would moan regardless of the cost. Just a moaner. I'm with you on the beans though.

And bought Andy Carroll for 35 Million and Solanke and Borini with the rest of it  ????

Torres scoring in the European Cup semifinal to secure Chelsea a place in the final, which Chelsea won, paid back that 50 Million for that goal alone

Solanke we made a profit of 8m on. Not bad at all. Borini and carroll we lost on as you cannot win em all but we made a few quid on coutinho, Suarez and spent it very wisely and we put a bit of faith in some youngsters and a manager in his 4th season. If Chelsea could sack fans I bet they would. We spent 21m on Suarez with the sale of Torres btw. We sold him for 75. We brought countinho for 8m. We recouped  200m. Listen your teams run by a bunch of jokers.

Still working on getting the next round of funding, although I haven't been trying very hard as other projects have had to take precedence.  Aside from that all good.

Nothing to do with yogurt mind you, although you were right about it being an FMCG.

Your yoghurt idol Sean you forgot about him already. Tut tut.

These fast moving consumer goods surely need people moving fast too. It's year 3 to my knowledge. How much funding you secured so far and let's just clarify rounds of funding. Does not mean someone paying for a round.

Do stop calling me names .

You're a scouser , shouldnt be calling Londoners low class , especially Londoners from the Worlds most expensive football pitch , in terms of real estate value .

Have your moment of glory of being top of the league , it may not last long

Ok sorry i thought chavs accepted their name. No offence intended you are clearly SW6 material. Gloating about the real estate value of your team location. We paid 38m for Salah. We sold you Torres for 50m. But you can afford the losses at the moment. Losses on and off the pitch.

    How do you know?

This is a Sean thread all day long it's a bit like a poker game with 3 online players in the same room at the same table online.

A Man City win tomorrow would put them top and Liverpool, have Man U and Everton away in the next few games and they wont be doing you any favours either , your only hope is that you continue with the good luck of dodgy ref decisions and goals awarded that dont cross the line

You clearly did not watch us today.

The moment wijnaldum scored, the swagger was back. Players dont click like that and not go on a massive run. We just clicked. If I was a realist or a nervy shittty fan I'd do myself a favour and admit defeat. Watching the play today once gini scored was the moment I've been waiting for all season.

Fuckin'ell Rc, Jedi <deleted> trolling level

Come on you know what it's like after a match. I can't be going to bed I like to chill and listen to the footy on the tv and go to war on tvisa before I settle with a cup of cocoa and a film. Saturday night bliss this. Ask bareback he has his process too i bet. He rewinds the match and watches it again and forgets he just watched it and continues screaming at the tv.
