That's not correct, there are laws in place about the TM30 that are followed by everyone. The issue we see is that when doing your 90 day report online, some get rejected because of issues with the TM30. Then people think the TM30 rules are all different for each IO. Not true.

But me and my office work with the government everyday to obtain these visas and work permits for clients so I think we know better than an old retired guy. Now go back to sipping your coffee and call Joe Biden. You two can relate very well to each other.
-
lol. You have no plans to work again, but you keep coming back to a forum to debate a point that is totally wrong. The topic was long ago forgotten until you came back. This just proves my point about old retired guys debating topics in the forum that are not even relevant to them. They just do it to pass the time. Thanks again for this though.......How can you get as work permit without being employed by a registered entity in Thailand? Wow, I guess you went into the MOL as a big group to ask this question. Further ,this topic is about the DTV and you cannot get a work permit on that visa.
-
Coming back again after 2 weeks to debate this again are we? Try to get a work permit while you have a LTR visa based on being a wealthy pensioner and see what happens. Who is going to be the Thai company that hires you? Do you think you can just walk into BOI and say "I have an LTR visa and please issue me a digital work permit to do work as I see fit" Go ahead and try it!!!

There is no one year reset of any clock of you never extend inside Thailand. You can simply leave at the end of each 180 day stay and then re enter to get another 180 days. You can do this for the entire 5 years without ever needing to extend the visa inside Thailand. The one year is only related to extensions meaning one extension only for every entry.
-
There is no limit. This means there is no posted law. However, officers will still refuse entry if they don't like your travel history the same as they will do when you enter by air. Todd is not wrong. I have checked it out myself. But whether you will be successful will depend on your previous travel history and sadly whether you use a land border run agent or not.
-
I can also confirm that this is true. However, officers at land border crossings will still allow entries based on their own discretion. What does that mean? They can still ask for evidence of a return or onward ticket, proof of travel funds. and proof of accommodation. I have also confirmed they will refuse entry for the same reasons as they do when people fly in. In no way does Todd's post invite there to be open season on people to come in by land every 90 days forever. Meaning they can fly in and get 60 days, do an extension for 30 days, then do a border run and get 60 day more days and then an extension for 30 days and then continue the land border runs forever under the 60 day exemption. However, I was also told that if you use an agency for your border runs you will be successful. Therefore, if you want to try this, do it with an agency and not on your own. Otherwise, you may fall victim to being refused entry just like some get refused entry at the airport. Todd neglected to mention if these examples were done while the passport holders did the border runs alone or with an agency. That makes a world of difference as the agencies pay immigration to overlook past entry history.

That law will remain unchanged, If you stay here 90 days in a row, you need this. Even elite visa holders have to do their 90 day reports. Why would a DTV holder be any different?
-
I am not guessing, but it seems you are. Thanks for coming out. Next time read the fine print instead of just the press release lol Every dam post in here has a 20 hour debate that goes along with it and most of the guys debating aren't even here in Thailand and if they are here, they have no interest in the post even. They just use the forum to pass the time and debate about almost anything. You again are dead wrong!!!!
-
Only for the highly skilled professional category. The OP falls under the work from Thailand professional category and can't get a digital work permit for that category. End of story. Go debate with someone else on the Thaigher forum. Under you twisted logic the wealthy pensioner category of the LTR visa category can also get a work permit. Dead wrong!
-
Thailand LTR Visa holders under the "Highly-Skilled-Professionals" category can benefit from a discounted personal income tax rate of 17%. A digital work permit will be issued at the same time as the visa. Thai LTR Visa holders under the "Work-from-Thaialnd Professional" category can not obtain a work permit. You fall under the Work from Thailand professional category and you don't need a work permit and don't qualify for one either. You are clueless on this point. Go ahead and try all you want, but you won't get any work permit under the the Work From Thailand Professional Category or the DTV and you don't require one either as long as you don't promote your business in Thailand and don't sell your products and services here to people and businesses inside Thailand. Do you really think the Thai government is that stupid to have the DTV and LTR visa category work from Thailand professional when you need a work permit you can't get in those two situations? You are the one who is flat out incorrect!!! I will get right on advising my clients that they need a work permit if they are here as a digital nomad on the DTV and LTR visa category working from Thailand professional. Then I will tell them to waste their time like you are doing by going to the Labor office to try and convince them to issue one. That would go well with my clients. "I am advising you that you need a work permit, but wait, you can't get one lol.

Thailand LTR Visa holders under the "Highly-Skilled-Professionals" category can benefit from a discounted personal income tax rate of 17%. The OP falls under the WORK FROM THAILAND PROFESSIONAL category of the LTR and persons that fall under that category can't get a work permit nor require one as per Thai law.. Do you see my point now????? Further, DTV holders are not exempt from filing personal income tax in Thailand. You don't even have an LTR visa so why does this concern you? The OP for some reason still thinks he is entitled to a work permit and the disturbing thing is that he seems to thin k he needs one and is entitled to one.

Not the first, one of my clients also got his yesterday. About the visa paper, just keep the e-visa to show immigration when entering. You don't carry it around with you. Why would you think that? When you enter at the airport, they stamp your passport with your permission to stay and that's all that matters. Just like all other e visas. Secondly, you can't get a work permit to work remotely in Thailand for a foreign company that is not registered here. Foreigners often think you need a work permit to work remotely, but you don't. On the DTV and on one of the categories of the LTR, you have permission to work remotely here as long as you don't involve in business activities in Thailand, such as selling your services or products to people here. Don't waste your time going to MOL. If your plan was to get the DTV and then promote your services or products for sale in Thailand without registering your company and thinking they will issue you a work permit, you were sadly mistaken. Don't get caught up in the myth that you need a work permit to work remotely on your outside Thailand business activities. The Thai government openly advertises workations.

Non 'O' Funds based on Salary

I know this to be true in some cases. However, since covid, sham marriages have been common. I understand why Immigration is skeptical. -

Non-O financial requirement question
wmlc replied to Tingnongnoi's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will most likely need an agent to sort this for you. Out of our last 10 clients in this same situation, 8 were rejected and 2 passed through unnoticed. The 8 had to pay extra. Don't contact me to help as my firm does not take clients from this forum. Any agent can sort this for you very easily, but you will have to pay. Good luck. I hope they let you pass.
