It's a sad fact but the individuals in power had no idea how much Thailand relies on tourists....... And forget the Chinese fairy story, China won't be allowing mass tourism to Thailand in the near future....... Up to you lads........ Open up, or it'll be the last flight out of Dodge........
its too late. china won't allow anyone to travel, uk are talking quarantine hotels or total ban, europe talking mandatory quarantine or total ban non-eu residents, with policy decisions to be made this coming week. the americans never came here in big numbers anyway (and prefer mexico/caribbean). so who does that leave? the russians? indians?
its done. over.
2022 at the earliest. AND that assumes that vaccines won't need to be administered annually! or mutations force multiple shots per year.
good luck getting 8 billion people vaccinated every year ????
this goose is cooked.

didn't work out so good
spain just said country will be closed until AFTER the summer this year to stop a repeat and france, austrian and swiss ski resorts now closed to all but locals across the alps for the whole season
so yeah open up, then face the consequences

Even if an immigration law/rule is written clearly it can be interpreted differently at each immigration office. In my province there is no 40K per month for a marriage extension only the 400k method, the office interpretation. Show them he immigration rules they don't look at it. Folks coming from other countries to Thailand, yes that's a good idea. I hope its not another layer of stress to visa extensions. To those who have good immigration offices that follow the law, peace be on you!
yep, can see the future coming..

19 minutes ago, Jingthing said:Not that immigration rules need to make any logical sense, but this doesn't make any logical sense.
We're dealing with an infectious disease here.
So let's say they test 1000 people on retirement extensions.
Some of them will have already had the virus and recovered.
Most will not have had it or have it currently.
A very tiny number may have current infections.
So they're looking at a very small time window (extension time) when they might detect a very small number of currently infected people.
Surely they're not worried about people that were previously infected, and currently not infectious?
I just don't see the logic of testing this group specifically although I do support more widespread testing in general.
sod logic, think of all that expat baht that can be extracted!

ok.. lets do some maths..
450,000,000 / 40,000,000 tourists = 11.25 baht
so where does the other 289 baht go?!
on the other hand..
300 baht times times 0 tourist arrivals = oh, never mind ????
