I know it's obvious but make sure the land has proper papers. I get offers every now and then but when I ask for the papers it's all "word of mouth contracts". The whole village and surrounding fields where I live are on public land! It might work between Thai but I would not take the risk.
yeah and i am not sure any land on koh tao is chanote land
might want to check that - just go to local land office with the land paper of the land you are proposing to buy and they will tell you the current status of the plot

Some of these comments are so pathetic. It's as though some people actually want to see the situation deteriorate. They seem to overlook the fact that many posters are in the highest risk age demographic.
you mean over 60 with a shot immune system from the excessive daily consumption of chang, cigarettes and cheap pad thai?
yeah, i reckon that 2% mortality rate is gonna be highly optimistic for this demographic

Supermarkets always take the goods that are most beautiful and this is known but it is the quality of the goods you need to check, for example I have checked the quantity of phosphates in bananas and supermarkets, all are beyond the sanitary limit.

then complain its too noisy -
go and find a quiet island if you want to be tucked up in bed with a coco by 7pm. there's 100's of them

Can't say for sure, but probably something related to the coronavirus. Yesterday we drove past the Chinese Consulate and there was what appeared to be at least 100 or more Chinese in some kind of a panic; pushing and shoving and screaming and some appeared to be trying to push the huge metal gate. Several security personnel were trying to diffuse the situation. We could see the police approaching as we passed.
Something is going on
maybe they don't want to go back to china just yet
can't say i blame them

Actually the flu (real influenza, not a "cold") at this time is affecting more people and kills a greater percentage
do you know how percentages 'actually' work?

today's guardian again:
QuoteProf Gabriel Leung, the chair of public health medicine at Hong Kong University, said the overriding question was to figure out the size and shape of the iceberg. Most experts thought that each person infected would go on to transmit the virus to about 2.5 other people. That gave an “attack rate” of 60-80%.
“Sixty per cent of the world’s population is an awfully big number,” Leung told the Guardian in London, en route to an expert meeting at the WHO in Geneva.
Even if the general fatality rate is as low as 1%, which Leung thinks is possible once milder cases are taken into account, the death toll would be massive.
yeah he just stated that health experts are actually considering a death toll of 48 Million people.
but yeah fake news thats scary
just the flu bro no worries.

Time for the world to wake up and stop depending on China for it's cheap labor. Repatriate the industries, offer zero tax to come back home. The perils of trading with China are clear and present.

Thailand's tourism minister: Everything will be fine after Songkran - the hot weather will blow the virus away!

lets hope so because asking thousands of people to gather together then get cold, wet and drunk sounds like a huge outbreak gamble to me.
