if they really want rid of the bar scene then go after the supply.. it could be done today, with the stroke of a pen. all bar licenses revoked, no new licenses to be granted. much more efficient than trying to tamp down demand with endless hoops that upsets every tourist who wants to come here. lets see if they have the balls.. (they don't)

they already have a system for that.. COE which will likely now just require upfront payment for the pcr test, 1 nights ASQ and insurance (in case you test positive). so same old same old. its a step in the right direction, but not much of one unfortunately and i think unlikely to move the needle much.

i like KL too, it's a much nicer, more modern city than bangers + can party all night too if thats your thing. if i was still a businessman i'd be there or singapore for sure - my "serious" friends live and do business there & i've visited them many times. always shown a good time. far better than a cringey tour around lower suk, brushing off freelancers all night. thailands only positive over those 2 cities is the visas are easier and its cheaper.. but you do get what you pay for.

Immigration Want 20k. Again
GeorgeCross replied to Grayo46's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
so in this case the extension based on marriage to the original non-ed was valid? that would mean he paid the 20k bribe last year for the IO just to do his job. oops. -

COVID-19 Spreads Fast in Far South

my reasons: 1) would rather be hot in a £200K villa than cold in £1M UK one (like for like) 2) kids will grow up with way more opportunities (class wise) than being bullied back home by chavs 3) prefer to pay no global tax but "go private" than pay big tax and "go public" (schools, healthcare, etc) i actually love it here, great family, top weather, easy system, easy life. thailand has been very good to us both emotionally and financially. and the longer we live here the more contacts we make and the easier it gets.
