Life moves pretty fast, or so I'm told.
How does the saying go?
"When one is young the days go fast but the years go slowly..
When one is old the days go slowly but the years fly past.."

I am inclined to agree with you.Talk radio is huge in Australia..generally compered by right wing celebrities with impressive ratings. It is probably the true "forum" of the nation to the despair of anyone with half a brain.

I think that whatever happened the Swiss chap should plan to put a continent or two between himself and Thailand once the dust settles....if it settles.

Fox continues it's relentless attacks on Dr. Faucci in their pandemic misinformation campaign.
Yes....sadly one has to conclude that Rupert Murdoch is probably the most powerful man on the planet.
It is not the first time that media barons have wielded excessive power..one thinks of Hearst,Northcliffe,Beaverbrook et al in their day but not right across the entire media board on such a grand scale.
Of Alfred Harmsworth,Lord Northcliffe it has been said,"presenting stories as entertainment and by blurring the difference between news and views, Northcliffe titillated, if he did not debouch, the public mind; he polluted, if he did not poison, the wells of knowledge.[36]

Sound familiar?

Whilst the thread is mainly concentrating (quite rightly) on the exceedingly toxic 'Fox News'..may I put in a plug for it's Antipodean Murdoch stablemate 'Sky News' that plays the same role in Australia along with it's talkback radio affiliates?Australia is very badly served by its loopy right wing media.

Well...my wife informs me that there are 23 new covid cases in the village-which is only one bridge crossing away from Ubon. It's a poor village and people live together cheek by jowl...
...and at the other end of the SE Asian archipelago it looks like we are going back into lock-down again at midnight.

I guess that the men will always follow the availability of the women/sexual partners and Thailand has always done rather well with that strategy.Whether it remains the same post-Covid is anyone's guess but I assume that after a slow start all the escapees from their home countries will be rarin' to go.
What happens to them after that only time (and ThaiVisa) will tell...????

I would imagine so....
They say that Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood would carry acorns about with him and toss them into handy hedgerows as he was concerned at the loss of the oak forests due to over usage.
I think the 'Victory' used 3,600 trees...
