Indeed.
I love my country and like and enjoy Thailand and a number of other places as well
It has never been an either/or proposition for me.

Indeed.
"clogging up" is an apt phrase.
I certainly miss the loss of the World News section and the departure of what seems like quite a number of excellent, knowledgeable posters.

Mr ALFHUY...
I presume that your nom de Visa refers to that lovely Belgian town on the Meuse...I spent a wonderful summer exploring the Meuse and the Moselle..
It was the presence of German cavalry in Huy in August 1914 which alerted General Lanrezac of the French 5th Army to a potential catastrophe on his left flank and so prepared him for precipitous retreat-a retreat against all odds-which 4 years later secured for us the victory.

this whole viral scare era... off to 2 weeks holed up in far off Howard Springs NT
Sounds like a good idea for a novel..a sort of 'The Magic Mountain' set in the Top End..and I chuckled at your phrase "viral scare era"as well.
Anyways, back on track for excellent YouTube videos.

This is a strangely refreshing channel to watch. An Aussie Expat in Thailand struggling through life. Down to earth and natural.
Thanks for that....the dry humour of my fellow Aussies is always good for a wry smile!
(He is very unlikely to die in Oz quarantine, tho!????)

Xanax is just the brand name for clonazepam,
Xanax is a brand name of the generic benzo ALPRAZOLAM
Whereas the generic Benzodiazepne CLONAZEPAM is marketed as Rivotril and Paxam in Australia along with other brand names in Canada and the US.
Please do not confuse the two as they have markedly different potency and half lives-and,as always, consult your doctor.

'Life Is Beautiful'(Italy,1997)
'As it is in Heaven'(Sweden,2004)
'The Italian'(Russia,2005)
Tho' the last movie has a purportedly happy ending...the selling of orphans in Russia is a very sombre story indeed.

Talking of Daniel Defoe , his book : Journal of a Plague Year , is not only an excellent read it is very topical considering our current situation.
Agreed-and Camus too.
I had a fun time a few months ago reading Alexandre Dumas' 'The Three Musketeers'..beautifully written with such verve and panache!

One must remember that most of the major "blockbusters" of the 19th century..Thackeray,Trollope,Dickens etc were written for weekly or monthly serialization in magazines..spinning the yarn along benefited everyone...
The great Polish novel 'With Fire and Sword (3 volumes) by Henryk Sienkiewicz was published the same way.
By the way 'The Voyage of the Beagle' is still a great read..Darwin was not forced to hang around his computer all day waiting for some response from Reddit..comparing it to 'BuckyBeavor and the Autobots.'

In that, maybe not totally representative sample, not a single one would ever return to Thailand.
Your numbers seem to reflect my experience in OZ perhaps with the caveat that some go back for holidays but always seem to return.
They DO seem to be entranced by the change of the seasons tho' ,admittedly ,I live in a temperate part of the country.

The Great Dunny Paper Shortage of 2020 I remember it well.
Yeah man..it was heavy man..all the millennials suddenly decided to vacate the internet for 57 seconds and take a dump whilst their Gen Xer parents commenced to dial for the Prozac man...
A true crisis in which Western civilization disappeared down the boghole..

The wonders of social media...we went from Rumak's stirring "Give me liberty or give me death!" to 'Coronation Street' in only a couple of posts.
I refrain from commenting on Jason and Kylie and hope that Old Badger emerges from his burrow soon...

And so it is...
Has this provision been used to test the ability of private media platforms to monitor and censor inappropriate content on their sites as established by their rules to which we all agree to abide by?Has the law been changed thereby?
There is not a single poster on this site that does not agree to the conditions established by the owners of the site and nowhere does it mention untrammeled/unrestricted freedom of expression.
Personally I think that the forum does a pretty good job in walking a bit of a tightrope and long may it continue to exist...

I didn't know that Pornhub does Foxe's 'Booke of Martyrs' these days however you are becoming quite inventive in your sundry posts so I can certainly see a place for it as hagiography.
