    I am a tad confused by some of the comments about Israelis.

    Israelis are not the problem.

    It is the antisemitic Muslims and their idiotic supporters that are the problem.

    All people, regardless of religion, race or colour, should be allowed to go about living their lives peacefully.

    Sadly, there are groups of haters who disagree with that concept.

    Wow!

    False claim. You post to draw attention away from the fact that the Gazans  violently and cruelly murdered  39 Thais and  abducted 26.  Where is your concern for the Thai victims?

    Thai workers departed left following  the October massacre. A small number returned in June at the request of the Thai workers, because the wages and working conditions are better than in Thailand. Thai workers earn 8-10X more in Israel than in Thailand.

    Your claim is a negative myth perpetuated by people who wish to present Israel in a negative light. The reality is that migrant farm labour encounter wrongful  treatment worldwide. It happens in Canada, Sweden and USA too. This neither excuses, nor explains away such event. However, the reality is that such events are infrequent and when they are discovered they are addressed. Israel relied on Thai farm workers and was not in a position to discourage their presence. They did the jobs previously performed by Palestinians who resided in Gaza and the West Bank.

    The labour treatment complaints are in some cases justified and reported by the workers themselves.  In other cases are reported by inspectors or labour unions.   There are worker hotlines and site inspections. Israel, like the EU, USA and Canada by law requires that the migrant labour dwellings be inspected and notices be posted in worker residences.  For example this circular is provided to farm workers;

    Agriculture workers' Rights January 2024:  LaOved – Worker's Hotline is a non-profit organization that provides advice, guidance and legal aid to workers. The following rights are guaranteed by Israeli law to all workers in Israel whether Israeli or not, with or without a visa. If any of the rights where not given/ paid to you, please contact Kav LaOved. We cannot help you receive your money from the employer if you contact us a few days before you leave.

    Please contact us at least a month earlier

    Some of the complaints come from groups who have a vested interest in lodging these complaints, i.e. Labour and social activist groups in Israel. others are politically motivated These complaints mirror those seen in the EU and Canada/USA. Mistreatment of migrant labour is unacceptable, but farms are labour demanding and the conditions seem onerous to those not used to hard work. The treatment of migrant labour in israel is no better or worse than what we see in the western world and is still much better than that seen in the Arab Gulf, Turkey, SE Asia and in Thailand itself. That is because there are  labour protection laws in Israel that are enforced and upheld by an independent judiciary.

    How about some concern for the  Thai victims of the Arab initiated and organized massacre? Why were Thais murdered? They were obviously farm workers and not Israelis. Why were the Thais abducted and tortured?

    Gosh a lot of words that ends up saying very little. I stand by my claim, Thai farm workers are treated very poorly in Israel, and Thailand should discourage any further worker going there

    Garbage. Bangkok is sinking approx 3cm per year and currently the average height above sea level is around 5 feet.

    Irrespective of any change in sea levels, Bangkok could be at sea level within 50 years, without any island ever being affected.

    The Greenpeace report was about sea level rising not Bangkok sinking. Thanks for changing the goalposts
