Hi guys....
Any thoughts on the derby?
With the whole world writing us off, is that an advantage?
Personally, unless Hojlund is back I don't see how we can do much. I would even advocate sticking McTominay up front (since that's why he plays anyway) instead of Rashford and playing an extra midfielder. -

I agree Rick. Don't know why though. There are a few regular posters and some occasional (me), but nothing like a few years back.
What's you take on it?
If it's a commercial decision then I understand it. But if it is based on participation, I think it is clear that nobody is interested in the current threads.

Since nobody actually creates or contributes to posts in this forum anymore (since certain changes were made) I am posting this as a test.
Does anyone miss the club threads?
It seems we have now reached zero participation on this forum.

Trevor, this problem is much better tackled from above (and cheaper). Are you on good enough terms with your neighbors to offer to pay for some soundproofing carpet or floor underlay?
This will give them heat insulation, extend the life of their floor, and do a great job of absorbing the impact noise. And it will save you from the disturbance and save you money.
-
If it's airborne noise, you need a sound blocker
It all depends whether you have the money / permission to take down the drywall on your side and install some insulation (MLV is a great sound blocker) or add another layer of drywall / decouple. If you are going for a cheap / quick fix, try acoustic panels on the wall (not the acoustic foam ones)...
Some good options here....

Also make sure the noise has no other pathways to enter, such as under or around your door (try a door sweep and weather stripping)

Most likely YOU are. But I suppose appropriate to you is "cheap helmet for a cheap head".
There are helmets for a fraction of 500 GBP that can do the job.

Just not in the DNA,nor risk perception nor anticipation.
On a lighter note,I was in lotus yesterday holding my brand new £500 HJC helmet brought back from UK that didn't want leave with my bike. The guy in front of me bought a helmet which they scanned ( 900 baht) . After scanning my groceries she tried to scan my helmet! ????.
I giggled and in my pigeon Thai said " from England!”
I'm not sure who's more of an idiot. The guy buying a helmet for 900 THB or you buying one for 500 GBP

Do you have to pay for every letter you type ?
Sounds like you think you're smart..... but he's saving time which he gets to use doing other stuff.
So who's really the smart one ?

Not a very good idea to stay in Thailand as tourists without an insurance, which after all is fairly affordable. Go Fund Me can be a lot more difficult and might not always work, if something unforeseen happens...

How is Samui these days? Fully rebounded from the pandemic?

What was the answer?
Yes, there are pay monthly plans that you can cancel after the first month.

All sorted. Thanks for your replies guys

I'm guessing that you mean you want to cancel and get a refund even though the cover has started?
Maybe not full refund...
Or maybe on a monthly deal, pay for one month then just cancel the direct debit.

It's more about each country would have different rules. For example the 3 month health insurance for Thai Visa must be from one of the approved companies, needs a nominated certificate and info is entered into a data base that immigration can access. So I assume if you cancel a Thai approved insurance immigration could know about it (if they ever checked)
I get it. In this country they won't check.
-
Or once you have started the term of coverage, is it not possible to cancel?

So if it's not for a Thai visa then why post it in the Thai Visa sub-forum?
I was going to respond thinking you needed it for the 90 day non-imm O as that's the only 3 month Thai visa needing approved health insurance but you're basically just asking about travel insurance, a totally different beast
Fair enough comment. I posted it in the wrong sub forum and now hope that the mods will move it.
Hope I haven't harmed anyone / spoiled anyone's day.

Think to simplify this.... can I cancel a travel insurance policy once the plan has started (i.e. after the term of coverage has begun)

If it's for a Non Imm OA don't do it
It's not for a Thai visa. For another country... but don't want to take this thread off piste by discussing the visa...

Update... I am hearing that most providers accept a cancellation within 14 days.....
-
I'm sure in the past there is a plan I have bought that I can cancel after a couple of weeks (for a reasonable cost).
Does anyone know a provider that will allow me to buy say a three month plan and then cancel after a certain amount of time?
I need the plan for a visa requirement (minimum 3 months). And would prefer not to pay the full term.
Cheers

Am I right in thinking that digital banks usually offer better interest rates than typical high street banks in UK or Thailand?
Does anyone have any recommendations for savings accounts?
