You are correct but that doesn't account for the hundred or so others there doing a visa run, non of whom had luggage but had absolutely no problem exiting.
Thanks for your reply and I get your point but they never even asked if I intended on returning to Tland..
As you suggest, perhaps a visit to somewhere by air will fix this.
Thanks Dr. Jack. I've never had a issue with my OA or with Immigration, other than poor service @Sri Racha IO. I'm slightly stunned by this because it seems so arbitrary. Ugggg.
No fines and yes, the idea was that that I'd re-enter Tland, 10 minutes after exiting, Visa Exempt. Have had the minimum 800k in the bank for 5+ years. Actually, never less than 1 million.
Here's the deal. Took a Visa run today from Pattaya to Pong Nam Ron to exit Tland thereby cancelling my Non Imm OA Visa. Had planned to re-enter Tland on a Visa Exempt basis and then pursue an O.
Didn't happen. Thai immigration there says I have to fly out of Tland on the basis that I have remained here for about 5 consecutive years.
Can anyone bring me up to speed on this? This doesn't even begin to make any sense to me, mind you I'm not too brite either.
Leaving this country by land, sea or air all have the same effect. What national security risk does Tland face if I leave at a land crossing?
Sick of me yet? Haha. I'd like to convert from my current Non Imm. OA Visa to Non Imm. O Visa. As far as I can tell I need to use TM87 for this? Is a TM86 required also? Further, I'll provide copies of PP etc. Has anyone got a list of specific requirements I need to fullfill and take to the Imm. office. I'm a fairly dogged researcher but have found scant info on the net.
Thanks to all.
Also, for retirement, Canadian and I'm 67 currently using 800K in bank.
Uggg. I'm currently on a Non Immigrant OA Visa. Extension due in July. I am wondering what the differences are between a O and a OA Visa. Having trouble tracking down a good comparison of the two. The insurance requirement seems to disappear with the O and I gather that being married to a Thai may come into the picture? I'm not married. I'm also under the impression that the O is only good for 90 days?
Need help with this please and thank you.
Wasn't offering advice, just stating a fact. Throughout the world documents are certified as "true copies" daily. Who can do the certifying is solely a call that the requester makes, without exception. I worked internationally in this field for 30 years.
Nonsense. This is how new industries begin across the planet. Survival of the fittest. The innovative and competetive shops will survive. This effect is amplified in Thailand because margins tend to be very tight. Overheads here are much lower than in the countries most tourists come from.
