59 nabbed for violating curfew in Chiang Mai
Always a few that have to try to evade the regulations.
Hope they enjoy a few baht less in their pockets with a 15 day stay somewhere squalid!

Well they've blown the "medical hub" out the window so might as well change the record!

Here it is. The
Juntagovt. can't afford a 24hr curfew because they know it will be the end of them. Drop the numbers. Make yourself look good and avoid the consequences political, social and ecomocic. The drop in numbers is a smoke screen.Sounds like a good plan... keep people working during the day, keep mass gatherings at night to zero, push the self protection and hope for the best!

but from the perspective that the government has been saying it would only ramp up restrictions if the figures got worse, we can at least hope for some sense of normality to return, as opposed to things getting tighter.
I understand what you're saying, but with the low and now seemingly falling numbers with very few deaths I don't understand why the hint of a longer/stronger curfew and the order to turn military camps into field hospitals?
Something doesn't add up.

I'm living here in Thailand, my mother who is 90 is in a care home in England, with a weak immune system and some underlying conditions at the moment. I'd rather she didn't contact the virus as it would be the end of her.
I'm not living in fear, it's a concern that an idiot like the girl in this post could do something similar and end up killing someone.

What I meant was that some caution in opening is wise. If they can afford to close for a period of time, which I suspect they can, then why not close.
Why risk lives if you don't really need to, i.e. having staff come in etc etc.
They sell a lot of stuff that school children require which is no longer a demand.
The store sells 99% food products, so normal opening is 06:00 with the now 22:00 forced closure.
There are no restrictions of how many people are in the store at any time and as I witnessed no restrictions on amounts of food people can individually buy, making hoarding possible.
Hand gel and masks are available at the entrance, you must cleanse your hands and a mask is mandatory.
Otherwise it's business as normal.
All staff members wear protective masks and face shields.
One meter distances are required at the cash desks... which seems to be reinforced to almost every Thai customer as they bunch up as normal.

It's not a pointless thread, it's showing people how this virus is being spread around the country by stupid, brainless selfish people who just will not be told what to do!

The hospital staff told her to remain in quarantine at home until the lab results came back, but she instead drove back home by car with her boyfriend to Ubon Ratchathani.
Nail her to a cross for 14 days in full public view!
Sheer stupidity, her boyfriend and now family members are all at risk and facing isolation.

Daily News reported that the police will press charges against 308 people who violated curfew conditions between 10 pm on Saturday and 4 am on Sunday.
Some just don't get the message!
But then again time keeping was never a Thais strong point.

As a hairdresser friend of mine keeps saying, shes been ordered closed while every other of the 15 shops in her parade are allowed open as normal, these shops are full of customers, open from morning to night with no restrictions. Customers come and go, no social distancing, no gel at the doors nothing.
While she sits at home wondering why she has to suffer while others still make money. Just to rub salt into the wound the landlord phoned her at the beginning of this month, just to let her know he'd be round to collect the shop rent as normal!

That's what is done at Makro. Signs are posted on the shelves. Cashiers are aware of the limits, and will not ring up items over the limit.
I was in my local CJ store which is a mid sized convenience store.
A women was literally clearing the shelves of dry mama packets, the large family packs of around 10 per pack. She had about 20 packs at the check-out desk, they let her buy them?
4 people like her would have cleared the entire shelf, just ridiculous.

Authorities are threatening to reveal the names of 24 Thais, who arrived at Suvarnabhumi international airport on Friday and returned home to avoid state quarantine, if they do not report in by 6pm today.
So far, 134 of them have reported to authorities, leaving 24 unaccounted for.
Interior Permanent Secretary Chatchai Promlert issued an urgent instruction yesterday to all provincial governors to track down all 158 of the passengers. They were also told to advise those in contact with the returnees to enter self-quarantine for 14 days as well.
You know who they are from flight information... get off your a**e and go get them...
And then hit them hard with the maximum penalty to show every other inbound passenger this is no longer a game!
Abide by the rules or get hammered!

The wife's daughter has just been tested positive to the virus. Mild symptoms at this stage but sent home to self isolate with old and young people in the household.
We all know how "self isolation" works out here in Thailand.
Shared daily facilities, shared meal times, shared bathing facilities, shared sleeping arrangements.
Now the army field hospitals start to make sense!

She said working during this pandemic has been depressing because during every shift there were always 3-4 people dead. Before the dead body is taken away another infected patient is ready to take their place. Although it was a small hospital, seeing dead people there was like "watching leaves fall from a tree".
A far cry from a "luxury Bangkok hospital" no doubt, but wait till you get out into the smaller towns and villages, I bet the picture will soon look the same!
