Deputy Prime Minister/Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul today dismissed news reports that the Ministry of Public Health planned to call for the enforcement of the Security Keeping Act to ban political gatherings, and asserted that no political issue should be connected with the COVID-19 epidemic situation.

So after a veiled threat he's had time to re-think... after the dissolution of the FFP which drove people to the streets to protest [as that is now their only platform] he hinted that the security act might be invoked to stem the student protests in the name of public health safety. That really would be the straw you don't want to put on the camels back!

World Animal Protection seeks to provide a happier and more beneficial life for animals and also show communities how they can exchange traditional business practices for kinder, nobler endeavours that still attract tourists and ample income.

Something many "elephant parks" boast but don't deliver.

I hate watching elephants paint portraits, play football or do other crazy stuff in the name of entertainment for tourists, while the owners say it keeps the elephants happy.

This post shows where the elephant is happiest.... in it's natural environment and left alone.

With out the support of mainstream population they are doomed. Time and time again we have seen it and the Thai's could care less

Lets hope these kids don't try to be martyrs for nothing

It's their future and for once I think these students can see they can and must make a difference.

Yes granted the parents of many of them are too concerned with daily matters to protest, or to take much notice about who is doing what and vote accordingly.

But when it really starts to hit the family pocket they might just start to listen to their kids frustrations.

The students might be the tipping point to get things started.

Yes we get it, however it's all a matter of statitics. What are the chances of someone dying from this disease ? Apparently a lot less then dying from the flu, or dying on the road, yet we don't massively stop driving a car either.

I can't do much about the road statistics or becoming a road victim... but I can help myself from contracting a virus.

The chances of dying from it are minimal, but even less if you don't have it !

"If they don’t listen to our warning, organisers must take responsibility if the protest leads to the spread of the disease,” he warned.

Every action has a re-action... invoke the security act in the name of public health and watch the time-bomb go off!

If large crowd gatherings are on the minds of the government then ban every large public event, ban the up-coming motorcycle race in Buriram, ban expo's, ban hoards going to the beach, close the "mass transit train system".... you cannot pick-and-choose!

Four Chinese nationals were arrested for allegedly killing a Chinese businessman, stuffing the body in a suitcase and dumping it in the Ping River in Kamphaeng Phet province, Pol General Krisana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, said on Saturday (February 29).

Pesky Chinese doing their dirty laundry in Thailand... whatever next?
