How does this smart car operate ?
The Chinese , Burmese and Laotians would be indistinguishable from the local population ., so, how did the smart car know they were overstaying ?

glass half full or half empty... matter of interpretation, keep your idea and I will keep mine
No, you are twisting his words to make them mean something that he didnt say
If you claim that Trump said the virus is a hoax, then post the unedited comment or video up of him actually saying it

You link doesnt back-up your claim , it shows Trump responding to the virus, rather than clamming that the virus is a hoax

I will probably be going on overstay soon
I will max it out , pay the fine and receive a ban , if I max it out long enough
Not bothered
Having been a guest here for quite a few years , always keeping my visa valid , if they are going to chuck me under a bus when times get difficult , I dont mind maxing out my overstay , paying 20 000 baht , a few days in IDC and departing

I thought they reported that in BP, but am still unsure
I think that was just a consideration, rather than a rule change

I thought clemency for overstay now. Only fines levied.
When the virus is over though , you may decide to stay on overstay and just pay 20 000 Baht and take a years ban
BTW, is that official, no bans for overstay now ?

They won't chuck us out....BUT, they will demand overstay fees once you leave. 500THB/day gets expensive really quickly.
May as well get three months out of it or a year if you dont mind a years ban

Where is anything changed? Do you mean that we must complain on 2 things at the same time?
Actually, this post doesn´t make sense anyway.
Maybe I could have worded it better .
What I meant was that no one is complaining about Thai immigration not issuing the letters , (because its the embassys not issuing the letters)

Complain to your embassy then. It´s such a simple letter. Then it´s not Thai Immigration screwing you. It´s your own embassy and your own country. Don´t forget to thank them!
No one is complaining about Thai immigration and our Embassys not issuing letters though

Tried that phone number: "The callee has no right to receive such call". Does that mean they are disconnected? Does anyone in the Khon Kaen area know if the Laos Consulate there is still open and issuing Lao visas, please?
Many thanks,
MF
Plenty of info on these forums .
I do believe that Laos is closed now, apart from to people who already have visas

When they are nice and offer a 30 day extension for all foreigner, so they should not need to travel and the risks included with that. Then many of you have to laugh and complain about a necessary letter. Always something, right. Can never be happy and satisfied.
Most of our Embassy will not issue the letter and for those that do, its a trip to BKK which puts people at risk of contracting and spreading the virus .

Just to emphasise.. Thats a flat out lie. There was no health control officer,
Sometimes they just watch a screen to see whether passengers have a fever and you may not have noticed them ?

I'm wondering if flying to Bangkok might work? Anyone know anything about the airports?
Avoid DMK and Suvabubhumi if you can and you will need a certificate of health and insurance in relation to corona

i just spoke with an individual at savannakhet consulate by phone after trying for days.
they have indicated that they will be issuing non immigrant o visa monday, no non imigrant b, I neglected to ask about METV, They seemed to believe anyone with a non o should be allowed back in to thailand, but were non-committal.
requirement for non o remain unchanged save the addition of the medical certificate, however the certificate MUST be less than 72 hours old and issued by a hospital. They claim a bangkok hosputal is ok, but clinic will not do.
i was unable to get to mukdahan on time to submit today and am now travelling sunday. sigh.Do you have a Laos visa , as they have stopped issuing them

The Thai one is much cheaper and offers good coverage , however how is your BMI?
i was about to change from international to Thai policy, almost half the price , applied and they cane back with 25% loading because of my BMI and I am not fat, just not a skinny guy, been working out since I was 16 years old, so in the end price difference was only 9000 baht per year , hardly worth it.
thai policy is actually good, also group not individual , can have deductible, unlike international policy.
Have you read the small print ?
Some Thai insurance policies can cancel your policy any time they like

They have a lovely freshly printed off list of people on overstay.
Those Beemers will be called into action and the filthy foreigners will be whisked up and dumped in IDC to spread the virus throughout the whole place.
Empathy thai style
I really dont think that they will do that .
They have already stated they will tolerate over-stayers during the virus

Just love this line at the end of the announcement:
Each case will be assessed by the officer in question and permission to remain in the kingdom granted or refused as seen fit.
Now how in gods green earth can they refuse to let you stay if you have no way to return to where you are from, unless they allow you to stay in IDC, which will look pretty bad to the rest of the world. Thankfully I have a Non Imm O-A Visa still goof for 8 months, and then I can do an extension if I can not leave and come back extending it for the second year......Good Luck to all of you folks, stay safe, and hoe some sanity comes to the world, as well as people doing as asked to stem the flow of this virus....
It was a politely written announcement , no need to focus on one sentence that just states its the I.O's discretion, which is quite standard .
We should be thankful for their leniency and help and understanding
