She has started asking for money

Any women from any walk of life that is grabbing for money is vulgar and repulsive in my eyes. PUMP AND DUMP BRO!! -
This was pretty incredible so I wanted to share this guys video. Finally some Thailand content on YouTube which isn't the same old boring stuff. So, they're in Phuket and go on a rafting tour with guides. For some unknown reason the tour guides get into a fight and start attacking each other with the ores while still on the river and with tourists aboard the rafts. One of the tourists even got whacked on the nose. Fun way to spend the day in the land of smiles. 😂 Cheers to the guy who got the video.

People don't know what it costs to build in Thailand and get herded into these developer projects with massively inflated prices. It's just a concrete box. I've seen them build enough houses in Thailand to know what they are on the inside. There's not even anything particular fancy in the house, maybe a higher grade of tile and some fixtures. It's the still the same shell that costs about 11,000 baht/sqm. Total scam but imagine your from California like these guys are and sold your little house for 1mb USD (not uncommon) and now you're loaded you cash and don't really care. Developers in Thailand know these people are out there and will buy lease hold projects so here we are.

The road safety part is pretty self explanatory, no? They're bothered by this one annoying thing (smoking weed in public) but totally unbothered by the endless daily traffic violations. I'd rather have people smoking weed in public than getting blasted in the face with diesel smoke when I'm on my bike, and yes this happens nearly every day at least once. Police seem fine with that even though it's technically illegal too.

Chinese Chef Arrested in Phuket for Illegal Work
NorthernRyland replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It's not good for Thailand. Changes the culture. Makes the locals upset. There's already too many tourists so if you open that up to foreign labor too it would be the end of the country in some regions. -

Go to China or America, or Europe if you want Chinese food cooked by Chinese people. -

So this is the horse molester kid from last year in Phuket? Why didn't he get deported and why is ASEAN now posting this story as if it's some heart break we should all care about? -
British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare
NorthernRyland replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's not a country that deserves foreign investment honestly. That being said you can easily invest for years and earn profits even but the idea always leavers a bad taste in your mouth for many reasons. -
Maybe it's morbid to some but I wish I could be put down if this ever happened to me. It's over at this point. You're going to die in Thailand or die back home but there's no way to come back from this it sounds like.

British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare
NorthernRyland replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No way that's going to happen or this is the end of foreign investment in Hua Hin then. Image spending millions of baht on some villa and then when some local thugs decide they own your land you can beaten and then jailed by the authorities. That's simply too incredible even for Thailand at its worst. -

sounds like common thugs to me. Claimed a dispute over boundaries, which is normal and can happen and instead of dealing with the authorities they used violence and intimidation instead. -
British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare

Isn't Thailand always worried about reputation when some fights break out and these things? They should be on red alert for these kind of international crime stories when actual high quality expats want to retire and spend big money in their country. This should have been escalated to the highest authority and squashed immediately. -
British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare

One of the articles said "However, in a shocking turn of events, the pair say 15 police officers raided their home and they were arrested on counter charges of causing "superficial injuries and mental anguish"." Foreigners get in fights in Thailand from time to time but do they ever have 15 police officers raid their house over it? Something seems rotten in Hua Hin. I wonder if the local police force is trying to pull something. -

OK read the article it sounds like their land was next to some low class thugs who decided to use intimidation to get some land that wasn't technically theirs. It would be shocking to think they couldn't settle this very easily and without all these crazy legal fees, which apparently are in the millions of baht. Something seems fishy to me there. -

I want to hear more about this land dispute. What could have happened? Before you build anything you obviously need to define your property boundaries and any disputes should have happened with the land office involved. -

Having to sell a villa for legal fees sounds a scam in and of itself. What do those villas cost in Hua Hin? Like 5m baht and up. Hard to believe how any lawyer could be charging that. -
Any Jewish people in Thailand noticing local hostilities?
NorthernRyland replied to wasabi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
True but the Jewish diaspora is going to get blowback for it. Oct 7 was basically a PR disaster for Jews globally. People are strongly divided on the issue and it gets heated pretty quick. Now the common Jewish expat in Thailand is in the middle and getting paranoid. Not a good place to be in for sure.
