We're definitely not there yet with AI. Honestly, we’re still in the early stages, what I’d call the infancy of AI. Sure, it’s evolving fast, and in my agency, we do use AI tools regularly, but purely as support. We're nowhere near the point where AI can fully replace a human, especially when it comes to creativity, nuance, strategy, or emotional intelligence. And even if we eventually get there, the ability to adapt is what sets professionals apart. The only ones who’ll get hit hard are those who put all their eggs in one basket and never bothered to diversify or grow their skills. The digital nomad era isn’t dead (at all). It’s just changing, like everything else. The ones who adapt will keep thriving.

I'm gay and I came out in 2008. At the time, I had an uncle who was a biker (and a few friends with similar family ties), and I have to admit, I was terrified at the idea of coming out. But my uncle said something that day that I’ll never forget (and that actually earned him a slap from my aunt): He said, “Look, if you’re gay, I don’t give a <deleted>—as long as you’re happy, that’s what matters. Actually, it’s even better—means more women for me. By the way, aren’t you guys known for having tons of female friends? Introduce me to some, would you?” I’ll always remember that moment because, honestly, it made total sense. If you’re straight, why wouldn’t you be glad someone else is gay? That’s less competition! Nowadays though, I couldn’t care less what people think. I do my thing, others do theirs, and that’s that. But I’ll tell you what, when I see these so-called “alpha” straight men constantly obsessing over where other men put their dicks, always criticizing what another man does in his own bed... my gaydar starts blaring like a damn alarm.

100% agree. What they did with the digital nomad situation reminds me a lot of what happened with the weed legalization, rushed it through way too fast, left it sitting in a grey area for too long, and now it’s nearly impossible to backpedal without creating chaos. Same playbook. Thailand has a bad habit of reacting quickly when it comes to implementing new laws or regulations, but it feels like they don’t think through the backend at all. No proper planning, no contingency plan, and then they’re stuck cleaning up a mess they made themselves. Personally, I really feel for the people stuck outside right now due to some admin issue. Whether it’s lost time, money, or being separated from their families, yeah, it’s frustrating and completely understandable. Some of them probably have built lives here. Is it really that hard to bring in someone who actually understands what being a digital nomad is, what it entails, and how this kind of visa should be structured?

Do you even realize we’re in 2025? Has COVID not taught you anything about how work has evolved? You sound stuck in the 1990s. Digital nomads aren't just "backpackers with a laptop." That’s such an old stereotype. Most of us are legit professionals who just happen to work remotely. And when COVID hit, when businesses were forced to shut down, when they weren’t making a dime and were desperately trying to find a way to keep selling… Guess who they turned to? Guess who was out there helping them stay afloat? If you only knew how many people — and businesses — folks like me helped, you’d think twice before making comments like that. I get it, you’re clearly ignorant about how all of this works. But using your lack of understanding to downplay our value and what we do is just plain ignorant in itself. Btw, here's a non-exhaustive list of the kind of people you lump into your lazy narrative: Graphic designer Website builder Email marketer Funnel expert Copywriter UX/UI designer Meta ads manager Google ads specialist TikTok strategist SEO specialist Blogger YouTuber Video editor Content writer Motion designer Voice-over artist, Online coach Translator Virtual assistant App developer Shopify expert, WordPress expert Figma designer Email automation expert CRM integrator Data analyst E-commerce consultant Brand strategist Course creator Media buyer Chatbot builder Affiliate marketer Resume writer Notion/ClickUp setup expert Squarespace dev Webflow dev Podcast editor Audio engineer Influencer campaign coordinator Discord mod OnlyFans manager (yep, that’s a real job) Newsletter copywriter Pinterest marketer Community manager Media kit designer Substack writer Amazon FBA coach AI prompt writer Bookkeeper Remote accountant Legal consultant Photographer Social Media Manager Funnel builder Ethical hacker Onboarding consultant Customer support rep E-learning designer Zoom event coordinator Illustrator Canva template seller Scriptwriter VA agency owner SaaS onboarding specialist, etc.. I can name 50 more if you want. And guess what? Most of us pay taxes, work with serious clients, build real businesses, and keep things moving even while your 9-to-5 office shut down during lockdowns. We're not all "trying to find ourselves" in cafés. Some of us have teams, payroll, deadlines, and real deliverables. If you're still judging remote workers by some 2014 Vice article about yoga bros doing dropshipping, you're just showing your ignorance. Adapt or stay salty.

RIP to the young guy but then watch them try to put the blame on weed lol. Guys, people dont just jump out of a window or shoot a gun because they smoked a blunt. Thats just not how it work. Im curious to see his toxicology report. Wouldnt surprise me to see some harder drugs in his system. Regardless, RIP to him. Its easy to get lost as a foreigner-expat here in Thailand. -

Honestly what the hell is wrong with people?!? Is it natural selection or? It seems like nowadays people are absolutely incapable of resolving issues through communication. -
Tbh with you, Im not really here to argue. Just go watch the link above Ive linked from a defense criminal lawyer that has been helping ALOT of rappers. He said it himself -- hes cooked. Just please take your time and watch what he says. I dont think they gonna convict him on all counts. Hes not gonna spend life in prison. But he will spend the next decade or so for sure. Go watch the video he explain why the rackeetering charge is almost unbeatable. And please dont take my words for it.

Diddy is done. He could win some counts, but if he's having "freak-offs" and hiring someone from another state, regardless of whether it's consensual or not, that's transportation across state lines for the purpose of a commercial sex act. That's count three. It's a slam dunk. Diddy won’t have any other choice but to testify here. And Cassie, despite being the star witness, is only one witness. Next week will be very interesting.

I want to be a YouTuber !!! Ideas please

Not sure if you're serious or just throwing ideas out there, but I’ll give you my 2 cents anyway since that’s what I do for a living (I run a digital marketing agency and have a few clients doing YouTube and online stuff full-time). First off — yes, your iPhone is totally fine. You don’t need a fancy camera. Plenty of successful creators shoot everything with just their phone and a cheap tripod or selfie stick. Focus on the content, not the gear. As for ideas — honestly, just be yourself. Don’t try to guess what people wanna see. Think about what you would actually enjoy making. That way it comes out more real, more fun, and people can tell when it’s genuine. You mentioned being a single guy working full time, that's actually a good angle. There’s a whole audience out there that relates to that. You could document everyday life in Thailand from your perspective. Stuff like your experience with the police in Lopburi? That’s gold. People love real stories. And yeah, there’s a lot of travel videos, but not a lot of you. Add your own spin, humor, opinions, struggles. That’s what makes it stand out. Also, YouTube probably won’t be where you make most of your money. Sounds weird, but most creators make the bulk of their income from: Sponsorships Merch Patreon Coaching / courses / collabs I’ve got a client who did $90k USD last month and 70% of that came from a single sponsorship and one collab. So yeah, build the channel, but also build the brand around it. Check out @RetiredWorkingForYou He started posting in Koh Samui during COVID (Around June 2020 if I remember correctly) and now he’s got: 270k+ subs 40M+ views His own merch, Patreon, Retreats, etc. He basically turned his daily life into a full-time gig. Just by showing up and being himself. Anyway, if you’ve got more questions or wanna bounce ideas around, feel free to DM me. Always happy to help. -
Australian Teen Dies in Koh Samui Motorbike Collision
shocky2012 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
I genuinely don’t understand people who, upon seeing a tragic post about a young man losing his life, feel the need to point fingers and place blame on him. Instead of showing compassion or offering condolences, they choose to criticize someone who can no longer defend themselves. What kind of mindset leads to that? What kind of life do you live where your first instinct isn’t sadness or empathy, but judgment? Do you really believe that in his final moments, he deserved to be blamed rather than mourned? Accidents happen. Life is fragile. Sometimes, things go wrong in an instant, and no amount of hindsight will change the outcome. If you can’t find it in yourself to show kindness in moments like this, maybe it’s best to say nothing at all. -
Australian Teen Dies in Koh Samui Motorbike Collision

Back in 2016, just a week after my 28th birthday, I had a serious accident in Chaiyaphum—one that nearly cost me my life. My heart actually stopped, and I was on the verge of not coming back. I lost consciousness, and the doctors had to inject adrenaline to restart my heart. I ended up with 37 stitches over my right eye. All things considered, I was incredibly lucky. Even though I spent a week in the ICU, my hospital bill was only around 10,000 baht. I still remember the doctor who was stitching me up when I woke up. He didn’t sugarcoat anything—he told me my heart had stopped and my blood pressure had been dangerously low. Then he simply said, “Close your eyes, stay calm, and I’ll make sure you’ll be okay.” I owe so much to that man. He was the ICU doctor that day at Chaiyaphum Government Hospital, and he quite literally saved my life. That hospital might not have the best reputation, but for me, they were nothing short of amazing. Seeing news like this really hits home. I know exactly what it feels like, and just how fragile life can be. I’m 37 now, and I hardly ever ride a motorcycle anymore—these streets are wild. Please, stay safe out there. RIP to that young man. My deepest condolences to his family. -
I'm in Chiang Mai, near the train station. For about twenty to thirty seconds, our entire condo shook from side to side. Objects fell to the ground, and we ran outside in a panic. We're on the 4th floor of a six-story building, and everyone was rushing out at the same time. Some people were even completely naked, which shows how chaotic it was. The scariest part was that even after getting outside, we could still feel everything shaking around us. This is the first time in my life I've experienced an earthquake of this magnitude. It’s a terrifying reminder of how powerful Mother Nature can be. I've read and heard that a 20-story condo in Chiang Mai may have collapsed. I'm waiting for confirmation, and I really hope it's not true.
