Who cares about your office Jomtien.
There are approx 75 immigration offices.
Some are rogue. Think CM another
Here is part of 2.2 Changed in June 2020.
"The alien as defined in paragraph one shall include those who
being granted multiple-visa who leaves and returns to the Kingdom with specified
time in the visa, and those with re-entry permit."
This is correct. and it is a national law that was charged in june 2020, for the "rogue" immi offices..I have no clue about there practices, but I know that I should have just googled the answers instead, because it is pointed out on many thai law websites.
tbh..the level of quality advices on asean has declined a lot since Joe died... I guess asean is just as affected by the "all knowing" trolls as all other social platforms... Rip Ubon Joe

edit: obviously there are some people that still need to do TM30's .. but not in my case

Hey all.
Can I show my visa from my phone that I have received via email in the airport? or do they only accept paper printed visas?
it's because they may give me the visa very late. My travel time is very long and I will be stuck in planes and airport transits for 2 days
I don't think there are any printing services in the transit areas that I will be in
Thanks

A friend I know asked me for help with a pc, late he came back and asked if I could help hes friend too and I did, and that's how this thread started.
An interesting and a very hot topic I see, everyone keep calm! ????

Thanks all for the good reading, very enlightening! much different answers than what I expected, and so many different opinions about it, so.. don't put up repair shop signs, stay low, don't fix all of my neighbourhoods tv's and pc's, and follow the unwritten laws of Thailand, TiT
Much appreciated all.

At home my friends and friends-friends kinda know me as one they can come to if they need a pc or phone fixed. I don't have a long line of people outside my door, but once in a while someone comes asking me for help, and I am glad to help.
I dont have a work permit in Thailand, will there be any legal issues if I fix my neighbor or friends pc for free? are there any accurate law defining what is work or not? when I tried looking into it I can't find anything precise, it seems to be a grey area.. The information I get is Jail time and big fines only.

Hi there all.
I am looking for somewhere to find information about futute concerts/sports/conventions/holiday events in Pattaya, are there any news sights, facebook groups, twitter.. etc, that gives information about that? I have already looked at fb and many of the groups have very low activity and is not up to date.

Hi
I will be trying to get a METV visa soon too.
I hope it wont be a problem using the land border to renew my visa.
Did they change anything with the METV visa after Covid ?

I didn't say that they don't throttle .. read the post and the original by @Mickeymaus
What package are you on? I believe that the cheaper packages may have a some form of traffic shaping - I certainly don't experience any slowdown at certain times of the day on 1gb up and down.
10 years ago on a copper line between 6.00 and 9.00 pm, yes - I used to pay for the premier package with a lower contention ratio, but they still throttled, and were quite open about it. I could pay for a lease line @ 5000B/month, if I recall correctly.
Do you ever call the ISP team at 3BB and get a definitive answer?
Traffic shaping would probably something they use, especially against peer-to-peer.
The only thing I can get where I live now is vdsl and I have a 50/20.
Calling support is like calling a parrot, a lady that follows a check list script and do not veer out of it no matter what you ask, I tried it but for a different reason, and I am very sure they are not going to remove the practice of traffic shaping if someone calls em and demands em to stop using it.
What 'team' are you talking about? is there another number I can call other then support? I would love to know because if I have any problems in the future with my internet I would have a better option than there "support"

There are lots of interesting reading about how isp's throttle if you google 'does isp's throttle bandwidth'
-
like many other isp's they throttle the connection during peek hours, but 3bb has done it a lot on my connections, and there are not many options to choose from if you want internet in Thailand (I live in Pattaya). They don't reduce the overall connection speed but on specific ports only, especially port 80 where most of the internet traffic runs through, web browsing..etc, so it depends on what you do on the internet.
@recom273 you say they don't throttle and then say you sometimes go from 60 mbps to 20? how is a 2/3 reduction of your connection speed not throttling?
-
I have had 3bb multiple times in different condos, in my experience they throttle a lot on there vdsl but not on fiber at all. a vpn will help mitigate the throttling if you connect to a server close to Thailand, like Singapore

Religion offers much more than that and thus serves a greater purpose in the lives of those who follow it. It at least grants an individual purpose and worth in life. Science does neither.
And no one, least of all the science types, considers the effects of teaching an entire world that there is no purpose in life, that one is no more than a leaf blowing in the wind with no control over their life's direction, that fulfilling their most heartfelt desires is a coin toss decided by chance, that their only value lies in their ability to breed, that life is nothing more than the survival of the fittest, that their emotions are due only to chemical interactions in their brains, that girls can be boys and boys can be girls, that a person's sex is not determined by biology but by their subjectivity, and perhaps the worst new fad in scientific thinking which postulates that personal choice is a mere defective mental illusion. And these same people then wonder how it is that the world slides into madness in so many respects.
Dumb and dumber.Well you better hope you choose the right religion because the odds are against you ???? heaven or hell might not be the one you wanted

I try to stay away from religious talk in Thailand, I just nod and smile and move on to another topic fast if someone asks me..
it is very understandable that religious people believe in what they do, it's a way to cope with death and loss..
Because we can't prevent dying some day and we have a natural instinct to "stay alive" it's a relief to know we don't really die, we just move on to a new afterlife, we don't really die... that's why the main focus in most religions are the afterlife.

Apart from the sheer complexity of Windows and the dozens of mouse clicks required to get anything done in the operating system, I have just spent 12 years not even thinking about antivirus or malware software, let alone install and maintain them, or heaven forbid, actually have to deal with a virus or ransomware. Imagine how much productivity that has earned me.
That is true, I have never worried about viruses or malware in all the years I have been using linux, but windows! I still remember my first virus in windows 98se haha! the one that made fireworks on the screen and the one that keept rebooting my pc in Win XP ????
There have been lots of vulnerabilities in linux in the years, but thats it.. vulnerabilities! and very very rarely viruses or malware.. I am pretty sure you can google the famous few viruses made for linux.
Viruses and malware is not that big a thing anymore in any OS, you should worry more about scams and phishing or getting your account passwords stolen.
antiviruses today focus more on blocking access to malicious websites and child safety.. etc.
the closest thing to viruses today are ransomware, but they generaly have to hack your pc and get control of it to plant the malware.

We live in such interesting times with the internet! I could be an astronaut or a nuclear physicist.. even an linux expert! and no would know if I just googled the "know how" and pretended that I knew it all ????
-
In my 20+ years of using Linux I have never used a antivirus, and I have never had a virus..
Of course there are linux Vulnerabilities found once in a while, but they are not targeting the regular joe browsing the web at all! and they are patched fast in updates for your distro.
As already stated above, the bad guys only work where the money is, and when they have to choose where to spend there time earning money, linux is not worth it at all..
Your "antivirus" is keeping your distro updated.

Kali is mostly a distro for hacking and its not particularly user-friendly,
and clearly you are not a hacker ???? I would highly recommend a different linux distro like Ubuntu, Linuxmint or Manjaro, they will easily install on any VM or USB Stick if your problem is security. my recommendation for a VM would be Virtualbox.

I need a Thai insurance that covers the requirements for both STV Visa and Thailand Pass/COE. and I was recommended Tune Protect Ipass Insurance.
if i get a Tune Protect Ipass Insurance and get into an accident, will the insurance company pay the hospital directly or do i risk having to pay first and get reimbursement from the insurance later?
Because I do not have the funds to pay a large hospital bill up front.
I have read their policy, but I can't find anything that says they will cover medical expenses directly with the hospital, or is there something I misunderstood?

Thank you for answer ???? a bit relieved now.
When should I go to the immigration's office and extend? 14 days? or a week? before it expires
Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Does the visa-free 60 days also mean 60 days extension at the immigrations office?
