  1. Don't know about you guys but she has my congrats for outsmarting the most inept set of muppets ever to grace the face of this world.

What with plod and the poet I could not imagine a more useless bunch of cretins and I would be very reluctant to employ any of them to do the job they are supposed to do.

I believe that the poet has shot himself in both feet and as an earlier poster mentioned, sweet Y has all the cards in this poker game irrespective of how she evaded the highly trained special forces who were keeping her in check over in Land of smoke and mirrors.

The rest of the the world is laughing at you dear leader, well at least those who give a rats bottom about you.

Unfortunately it's only the Yanks (Sorry...Americans) that are able to rock up to their embassy/consulate and swear an oath to say they have the required funds for the appropriate visa.

The rest of us have to prove it in cold hard cash.

With the comparison between marriage or 'retirement' I am led to believe that the 'retirement' visa is a lot less hassle paperwork wise.

I've had a few friends that reverted back to retirement visa as the marriage visa is a crock to work thru/abide by. Too many hoops to jump through.

You can always chat to the friendly staff at Assist Thai Visa or any other like minded agencies.  They do provide a great service.

    Absolutely spot on my friend.

Khorat immig, at my last marriage visa renewal asked me why I did not go for a retirement visa ( his words not mine )

    his explanation went as follows;

with a marriage visa you submit (considerably more) papers here (DanKiwan) then we send them to Bangkok who will take anything up to 3 weeks to maybe approve.

Retirement is less paperwork and we will sign off on it and give you back your passport and visa within the day.

He was true to his word.

Surely if you can show that you have returned to the UK permanently, you are entitled to free NHS care?

Eventually but certainly not immediately as your records would have been sent to the central filing place ( or google!) during your absence.

How can you prove you moved back permanently?

I have an NHS number, an address but needed a letter from the bank and/or utility suppliers etc before they would act. Fill out a four page questionnaire including multiple choices on gender you declare yourself to be but until that has been cleared ( and no bugger will write to tell you that you are now back on line) you pay. Fortunately my doctor has an excellent reception and practice management so mine was expedited. In the interim however.......

I'm from London, been here in Thailand since 2008. Only been bac UK once for 2wks. Not missed it.

Not much has changed apart from obvious traffic worse, fares up, more immigrants. an still crap weather.

Anyway as long as u hav ur NI number u should fit bac in no prob. Rent out a room for 3 mths contract get ur self bank acc & an easy to apply job like courier or delivery driver & u should fit bac in system no prob.

Oh & from wherever ur going bac to, visit Southend or Blackpool then u know ur be missing Thailand. ?

    Good Luck.

Do t forget that nowadays a background check is the de rigeur and they use Experian to contact thai Plod to see if you behaved in the last 5 years. I wished my potential employer good luck when dealing with thai woodentops. Not sure if I got the job yet.

You'll need to demonstrate that you meet the minimum income requirement of £18,600 per year, or have cash savings, for your wife to be issued with a Settlement Visa.

The application fee is in the region of US$1990 and in addition your wife will need to pay a NHS Surcharge of £600.

She will need to pass a basic English Language test and get a certificate to confirm she's free from TB.

You seem to be aware that you need to provide confirmation of suitable accommodation.

Once your wife has her visa she needs to get to the UK within 30 days and collect her Biometric Resident Permit.

She can apply for Further Leave to Remain after 30 months and the Indefinite Leave to remain after a further 30 months.

The goalposts haven't changed for some years, though the prices increase annually.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

That is very useful info. Many thanks

big problems are the NHS who are a total pain. I moved back to the UK after 4 years in the land of greed and got DVT en route. A doctors appointment cost me £70 per 10 minutes followed by a prescription at an eye watering £137 .

Fortunately my new doctor is a star and fixed it such that I now am an NHS recipient but it rankles after having paid a massive amount if ££££ in my life into the system through NI and Income tax  to be treated worse than an immigrant in my own country.

  6. I don't know about you guys but I am sick to my stomach about this case. I have no evidence and am no legal expert but with so much doubt and so much concern about the validity of the "investigation" I have serious reservations about their "guilt beyond reasonable doubt"

in fact the the only thing I am confident about is that I have consigned any notion of returning to the mire of corruption and greed into my historical list of mistakes I made but am not intending to repeat.

My my heart goes out to those chaps as it does to the victims and their families. I just hope and pray that in this life, or the next the real perps get what they are due.

I wish all all those who remain in the cesspit of corruption filth and greed (LoS) a safe life there.

I only realised how we get get sucked into a bubble of alternative reality whilst residing there,  once I got out. When I got out it was with the intention of sometime returning. Not so now.

Just the usual "we can do anything we want and if caught just smile and say sorry. The carry on doing what we want mentality."

They think every where is the same. Have money can do as you wish, ignore any rules.

The dick in the cap was typical - another "do you know who we are, who my dad is" type. Listen to his inflection. Used to demanding, with an expectation of getting his own way.

Many many Thais hate this sort of selfish arrogance when they see it.

    Yet so many do it

Fair play owl it's nice to see someone looking after the animals. Not a cat in sight in my Mrs families village I dare not wonder why. To be honest it's all good at present we had the rain to thank for not paying a visit I do miss the dogs mind you but they will be fine.

32 cats that's really great work.

I fully concur Captain Kirk, old Wise one seems to have got his stuff ( avoid the deletion) well wired and for that I salute him!

life is never an easy path but if you can ride the ups and downs it is fulfilling. My problem is/was the ups were more than deleted by the downs after 17 years together.

Made de a big mistake in that all our contacts were linked by the cloud so when I deleted my line app I was wrong in my assumption that I was uncontactable because being stupid I put my new UK mobile number in my contact details on my ipad.............
