  1. You beat me to it. That’s exactly what I was going to say!
  2. Condolences to the family, but also this morning I was driving my wife to work when one of these sweepers stepped of the kerb without looking and started sweeping. It was dark and raining. She (I think) had a relatively dark uniform with only a fluorescent ‘V’ on it and I had to swerve to miss her. Luckily nothing was on the outside and I managed to miss her.
  3. I only mentioned it as in the OP a photo (which has now gone) of the Visa on Arrival lane accompanied the article, implying that’s where the OP had gone. But, yes, you’re right they are not the same thing.
  4. The only question I have is this: If it’s ‘visa exempt’ why is the lane leading to it called ‘Visa on Arrival’. It can’t be both. Expats know what it means, but tourists might be confused.
  5. Looks like Mr Soolkiflee didn’t. (Think about it ????)
  6. No, hence the annual chaos ????
  7. No wonder the helmet didn’t help. It looks like it was only made of plastic and styrofoam. No standards, no QC, no chance. RIP young lady.
  8. I think you’ll find that tourism funds tourism development.
  9. Written Thai is not necessary. There is time to learn some spoken Thai, as you don’t need to be fluent.
  10. Maybe the dash cam in the truck (seen in the photo) might be of use? ????
  11. Well, I guess the relative hasn’t got far to go to see them now as he can just pop down to the morgue.
  12. Good point. I’d forgotten about that ridiculous rule.
  13. The sedan tried to beat the train? I guess it it accelerated all by itself. It’s time the headlines changed to indicate it’s the driver was at fault (if applicable).
  14. Solitary. Key thrown into the Klong. Sorted.
  15. Let the scapegoating begin……
  16. Caught Covid in the UK in January 2021, two AZ vaccines in Thailand in June & September 2021, one Pfizer booster in UK, December 2021.
  17. It’ll be difficult to train people to do this. In my condo we have green bins (recycling: paper, glass etc.) and black bins for everything else, and with signs indicating this. However, I constantly see recyclable stuff in the black bins. Either laziness or ignorance, I guess.
  18. Thanks to everyone for the replies. Much appreciated.
  19. I just visited the site. Can I assume it’s only in Thai? No worries if so. Thanks.
  20. Thanks very much for that. Much appreciated.
  21. Thank you. That helps a lot, as it seems like I won’t need to get it tested this time. It’s not a big deal, I get it taxed on Sukhumvit and there’s a tax drive-through and test station there. I just want to save some time by not being turned away for the tax in order to get it tested then having to queue again to get it taxed.
