I used to visit Thailand 3 times a year, am fully vaccinated with three jabs and willing to take my chance with Omicron however I am not willing to take a chance on the Thai Government and and commit thousands of dollars to a vacation that may turn out to be a horror story. I'm convinced that the Government does not want so called quality tourists because their constant flip-fops are what caused me and several friends to cancel our vacation. Net loss for Thailand: 3 people not traveling on Thai Air, a villa in Phuket that will not be rented for 3 weeks and 200,000 baht that will not go into the local economy. Hello Vietnam!

Like several other posters I have canceled my January 13th arrival for a Phuket vacation. Will not accept the possibility of forced hospitalization or quarantine for the majority of my trip and simply can not trust the government's constant changes.

Simple math: If you want 10,000,000 people a year you must approve 27,397 people every day. Assume it only takes 10 minutes to review each applicant that requires 570 people who work every day, take no vacations, never get sick and a workable computer system. If they have approved 14,000 in 4 days they are now averaging 3,500 so they only need an 800% increase to meet their goal. NEVER HAPPEN!

Just canceled my November 2nd flight because nothing is open, don't want to spend any time in quarantine, want to have a drink with dinner and a beer with friends. When the country is truly open I will come.

Just going through that for the Thai wife of an American. Wife can receive benefits IF she has lived in the US for a minimum of 5 years. The five years do NOT have to be consecutive. If she does not meet that requirement she MAY be able to come to the US for a minimum of 1 calendar month, fill out the paper work and receive benefits for 6 months. This can be repeated. Social Security benefits office in Manila is very helpful.
