The 20 year is actually 4 x 5 year back to back visas,

So, what if they asked you to show one of those stupid Thai insurance policies at 5 years renewal time? This is the reason why I wouldn't go for a 20years/1MB plan. Actually, considering the OA scam, I don't see any reason why they couldn't ask TE holders to show yearly policies altogether.

I thinking more and more, like AdamTheFarang, that our long stay days in LOS (whatever the S stands for) are counted. So I do my homework on Malaysia's immigration rules (90 days without visa and M2H).

    God bless you.

I'm almost positive that would take more than a police order since the PE visas are a subcategory of the tourist visa class.... the regulations already exist for NON O, that's why a police order was all that was needed for the OA announcement since the OA is a subcat or the NON O

I like the "almost positive" thing... You starting thinking Thais.

There is no requirement for insurance on the 'O' visa which is very different and does require money in the bank....

just a for the yearly extension of an OA visa.

This a great video. I am amazed that the general reaction to the current situation is to dig one's head into the sand.

There have been reports on here of proof the money is still in the bank 3 months after the annual visa extension.

How exactly do they do this? I would have thought a good way of providing proof was at the time of the first 90 day after the extension.

Has anyone actually had to provide this proof and how did you do it?

    Don't need answer fast

Naah! nothing to do with "money in the bank", but are you up to date with your TM30s? Any recent stay in a hotel or trip abroad?

  5. Did mine in Buriram this morning, more precisely the 5th extension of a Non-OA based on Marriage to a Thai (lady).

    a) No mention of health insurance,

    b) Kor Ror 2 from last week wasn't accepted, had to show today's date. Was easy to fix as the local Amphur is in the same building. The reason we were given was that some dishonest people used fake documents ???

    c) We will have to show a recent statement of my (400 000) bank account, when picking up the visa early March. I have seen other reports of this new requirement here on TV.

Otherwise, the office was packed, but we were out in less then 70 minutes, the efficiency of this office has always amazed me.

Thanks PD. They do say they use the help of agents and apparently the extension/multi entry stamps are issued by Thai IO Officials and are no different to the stamps obtained by non-agent assisted extensions. Many of the guys are frequently leaving/returning to Thailand without any border crossing issues using their agent-assisted extension passport stamps.

Dear Nemesis you have omitted the word "corrupt" somewhere in your post. I'd place it right after "issued by".

He do microsurgery, he said that it only take about an hour or less. 6 hours rest at hospital, 2 days can go to work, 2 weeks can start exercise.

Things have changed, go one done in 1982 at Sydney St Vincent's. Inguinal access, 7 cm cut and 3 days hospital, but fully recovered in two weeks. Worked well; lingering pain was gone and fertility came back.

Will be a piece of cake for you.

BKK bank are the worst, they need a document from the embassy.

My wife, who is a customer, made my recommendation letter. Worked fine.

Also, why do you mention a "document from the embassy" exclusively, when there is a wire range of options?☹️

If it was me, I would just leave country and come back on a 30 day visa exempt (not sure if this can be done by land or must be done by air), then go to immigration and get a 90 day Non Imm O.

I know OP deals with CM, but some caution should used when suggesting to go this route, as some offices will not issue these Non-Os. When I inquired in Buriram I asked two questions:

    a) 60 days extensions ? YES,

    b) Non-O ? NO.

The idea of applying in another office would not be a good one as the first extension must be made in that same office; so definitely cumbersome.

For those on marriage extensions there are offices such as Kuala Lumpur or HCMC much more easy to reach, via a short flight, than the usual backpacker type of destination. KL seems to have an on line appointment system.

  10. Like any brand of Taladafil (Viagra) it works for certain condition related to blood vessels. From what I know the vessels that are dilated at erection time are tiny and easily clogged with cholesterol, Taladafil (or Sidenafil) help the dilatation of these vessels (as well as others in your body, hence some short term side effects). If one suffers from other conditions affecting the libido neither Taladafil nor Sidenafil will work.

Also it is a good idea to start treatment early (I have started 10 years ago at 56) as it helps keeping the system going. I take one, sometimes two, during my wife's period just to make sure I get regular "morning wood".

This is also something to bear in mind when one is confronted with prostate cancer choices, I'll postpone radical treatment as it would mean normal libido with a dead d..k, which would be painful, so I'll favor a palliative hormone and chemo treatment that will kill the libido, hopefully this will happen when I am over 70 (and my wife over 25 (LOL)).

Both Sidegra and Tonafil are excellent cheap Thai brands, buy them. Avoid any of the non Thai products as they are mostly fakes here and ridiculously expensive too.

  11. We have to understand, that the ten or twelves companies that have gotten MoH approval have made an investment to achieve this. There were in all likelihood sizeable brown envelope involved as this is Thailand. Now they will see their prospective market shrink as many of us will shift to Non-O, so one can easily understand the kind of lobbying that they will make to regain their lost advantage. The whole thing was inspired by one sole motivation: fleecing us and they won't stop before they get what they wanted.

Seriously ? 165k a month and cannot get 400k in the bank ? I live on about 50k  month with the wife and kid and still save about 10k a month easily . If you cannot save 50-100K a month for a few months you have serious money issues !

Don't know who got money issues here?

There are obviously diverging paradigms here, you seem to believe that you have to live like a native while  @Go4er has probably taken an approach similar to mine, which was to transpose my former lifestyle to Issan.  Wasn't completely successful, even though it cost me more than 165k a month.

Medical insurance is not a waste as I had a motorcycle accident and spent 10 days in the hospital plus many physical therapy appointments and did not cost me anything as my Thai medical insurance picked up the complete bill.

It is an absolute waste when you have to get a second totally useless Thai insurance, just to stay in the country. While the insurance you've had for 28 years has been subsidizing Thai private hospitals at a rate of half a million yearly, for the last five years.

  14. Got two, half Thai/half Me, daughters both born and raised in Thailand. The younger, four years old, is fully bilingual and happily mixes with the natives, the older, eight years old, struggles in Thai at school but performs in English spelling contests.

I keep their nationalities and passports up to date and do my best to leave them some funds to resettle into civilization once they've grown up.
