That's old news. After all, they got rid of the snowbirds many years ago, before giving preference to group tours from China and India. Obviously, they never figured out that expats and snowbirds leave more money in the country than one-week, one-time Chinese tourists...

Will that mean it becomes a public airport?
Bangkok Airways owns it, and the landing and handling fees are crazy expensive for any other aircraft.

Actually not when it is in your name only. Thailand does not provide pay on death and will have to go through normal court process from my understanding.

Lived on Samui for 15 years, Pattaya now 2.5 years.
Nobody understand my Samui accent.
Learn Central accent what they speak on TV, Tai (southern accent) is very hard for central and northern Thai.
When my Thai son 12 years old, born on Sami comes and visit they acctually ask him to speak English

No Thai's allowed? Why? The whole point it to make it legal so that the Thai's don't do it illegally. Won't solve anything. It will increase the xenophobia to new levels. Dam, are they not angry enough at foreigners these days?

But, sorry it is not an overall world class destination. Extremely arrogant and naive, I can only assume they have never traveled to or seen other places in the world.
