The stats definitely indicate the opposite.
Someone in the UK, US is 1,100 times more likely to have it.

And definitely more likely to ignore rules designed to limit the spread which is probably why they felt it necessary to introduce this temporary measure to protect the lives of their members.

The score is on the board.

Thais dying of Covid is a rare event.

You can’t be too careful in a pandemic, especially with this new highly contagious mutant UK super strain variant that is now sweeping across the globe killing thousands.

It isn’t a time for political correctness. It is a time for common sense and preventative measures.

I am sure once the foreigners get covid under control they will be welcomed back with a wai and the famous Thai smile.

...I'm afraid that the kind of reply your post deserves, would be against forum rules and calling you for what you are would be politically incorrect. But I'm sure you can guess! Just a tip: it's the very opposite of smart!

'Just stay home' - Thai PM urges compliance as virus cases hit record

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's prime minister on Monday urged the public to stay home to help contain the country's biggest coronavirus outbreak yet and avoid a strict lockdown, as authorities confirmed a daily record 745 new infections.

The government has declared 28 provinces, including Bangkok, as high-risk zones and asked people to work from home and avoid gathering or travel beyond their provinces, as infection numbers climb in the wake of outbreak first detected last month at a seafood market near the capital.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said the government was mindful of the potential economic damage from strong containment measures.

"We don't want to lock down the entire country because we know what the problems are, therefore can you all lock down yourselves?" he told reporters.

"This is up to everyone, if we don't want to get infected just stay home for 14 to 15 days, if you think like this then things will be safe, easier for screening," Prayuth added.

There was also one new death confirmed on Monday. Of the 745 cases included in the day's total, 541 had been reported on Sunday by provincial authorities.

Thailand has recorded 8,439 coronavirus cases and 65 deaths overall, among the lowest numbers in Asia.

Most new cases are linked to a migrant worker cluster which started in Samut Sakhon, a province southwest of Bangkok, and led to infections in more than half of the country's provinces.

Bangkok authorities ordered restaurants and street food vendors to halt dine-in services between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Tuesday to reduce the risk of the virus spreading. Take-outs will be allowed.

Alcohol sales in restaurants have been banned and bars and other entertainment venues closed in high-risk provinces. Provincial governors have been empowered to set their own restrictions.

Schools and education centres nationwide have been closed for one month.

A funeral in Suphanburi province turned into a joyous affair on Thursday when the dead man’s wish for a performance by Coyote dancers came true.

Road accident victim Kritsana Wongkasem’s friends said he loved hanging out with women, especially sexy dancers, and had once told them that he would like to have them dancing at his funeral.

The victim’s mother said she was grateful her son had friends who would do anything for his happiness.

VAdm Thaloengsak Sirisawat, director-general of the Navy Operations Department, said the country needed enough resources to protect its sovereignty and maritime routes in the event of a maritime territorial dispute or clash in the South China Sea.

Well how convincing is that! The Chinese have already STOLEN the South China Sea, what you gonna do about it! ????

Perform what this government performs best. Ball sucking!

So let me get this straight; China steals the South Chinese sea and then sell subs to Thailand to defend it? ????????????

The intelligence of a gold fish!

Contact tracing involves ‘everyone being tracked’

Thus: IF this suggestion is to work, it only works if ‘everyone' has an App on their phone which traces their movement.

What will happen - everyone deletes the app from their phone !!!

Ultimately, IF Thailand wants Tourists they have to be treated with far more respect than the current sanctimonious ‘we can’t have them doing that’ suggestions.

The current suggestion imply an upside-down mentality of the decision makers, that tourists are privileged to come to Thailand and not a mentality that Thailand is privilege to receive tourists.

A Pre-Flight Covid-19 test (with a negative result) for every visitor to Thailand should be sufficient.

If Thailand doesn’t trust that, test upon arrival should add an additional level of measure - from there on in the TM6 card and TM30 (reported by the hotels) should be sufficient to track any positive cases if necessary.

The objectives ’should’ be to keep the economy moving while maintaining the replication rate of the virus below R1.

Thailands continued attempts at zero domestic cases is killing its own economy.

They hate us because we.re bringing the new that they think they don't need. They hate us because we inspire the youth to think and analyze. A bunch of low expectational stinking dinosaurs!

Direct proof that something weird is going on in Thailand if a Thai said this.

CP leased the country, it’s a no brainer that they will eliminate as much competition as possible. In the meanwhile, the flock is commenting the RedBull dude who killed a cop, most likely a dirty one (Thong Lo police station...), while CP and the rest of their puppets kills the entire population...BRAVO!

    Yawn...

So what?! Nobody cares about this story any more because we all know it's a load of crock. From beginning to end.

I for one, would be much happier if Boss came back to the Land of Shams and life went back to normal.

On an almost daily basis there's a new "development" in the case: from secret eyewitnesses, who years later turn up, to them dead a few days later. Now coppers admitting that they may have miscalculated the speed.

Nobody buys this cr@p any more.

Nobody is that stupid to believe any of this.

    You’d be surprised...
