Local journalist attacked by drunken German Tourist in North Pattaya.

A fascinating case now from Soi 2 in North Pattaya, a popular area for foreigners who enjoy the many beer bars which can be found there. Police arrived to find a heavily intoxicated man, identified as Mr. Jens Willy Lemnitz aged 51 from Germany, lying on the side of the road. The original call made to police indicated the man had failed to pay for food and drink at the Doy Beer Bar.

A group of journalists accompanied the Police and as they were recording the incident Mr. Lemnitz suddenly stood up and walked towards a journalist working for the Pattaya People organization and punched him in the face. He retaliated with a kick to the face of Mr. Lemnitz. Eventually Police managed to place Mr. Lemnitz on the back of a rescue truck and he was taken to Pattaya Police Station where he faces charges relating to a variety of public order offences and assault on the journalist.

I agree with the assault on the journalist, in the end, what was so spectacular about a drunk german? Was it really that interesting to know what happened. It's easy, he got drunk and obviously stupid and failed to pay his bill. The journalist was just there to immortalize the glorious moments of the police in it's effort to pick up a smacked down drunk man, is all this show worth a journal event???

My wife had a swimming/barbeque party with a few of her friends -all young female Thais. A farang mate of mine came round to enjoy the sights. As he had recently been ripped off right good and proper by a certain young lady from Nong Khai (that's after being married for 5 years) he enquired if any of the ladies at the pool were rich - if so he might be interested. I passed the enquiry onto my wife.” Don’t be silly, no rich Thai lady is going to marry a farang!!!", came the honest reply. Actually I do know of a few ladies from good families who have married farangs – but they are few and far between.

Everybody would be happy to be wellcomed with a real and not a fake thai smile and respect, but this is pretty much all you get, your wallet gets respected, you don't, it'a a matter of thai culture and civilization...so calculations are simple, civilized thais with civilized thais, civilized faranangs with uncivilized thai girls, uncivilized faranangs with uncivilized thai girls, but never un/civilized farangs with civilized thais, that's the way it is. I would love to have some thais around with who I can speak about morale, decency, art and culture, I am afraid I will just have to limit myself to some farangs for that...maybe i speak too much, but I hope everybody got my point

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said on Saturday that he will not quit as long as His Majesty the King does not tell him to go.

"The only person who can tell me to quit is His Majesty the King. If His Majesty whispers to me that 'Thaksin please leave, then I'll go," Thasin said during his weekly radio programme Saturday morning.

I'm not blaming you, but I just noticed...when the 76 years old german lost 1 mil. with the 23 years old thai lady, everybody blamed him for having such a young lady, when the 52 years old german is found with the 51 years old thai lady, it's still "no good". How was the man supposed to know that she was about to die? He found a lady of his own age, nothing more...Come on, let's be reasonable

As a long stayer, it never ceases to amaze me about dopy falangs ( similar to you ) bitching about how bad thai women are.....when in fact they have no clue what a "thai woman" really is like cause all they know are the women from the bars.

If you were you get tricked by a hooker in Amsterdam on the Wallen, or in Soho in the UK, or the red light district in Berlin - would that be representative of all Dutch, UK and german women ?

For 70+ year old guys to think they can have a normal relationship with a 23 year old women........ they have to have rocks in their head. I've seen all kinds of people, maybe I'm out of the line here, but there is one thing that shocked me..while I was living in Bangkok I saw an englishman right in the lobby of the condo were I was living...It was like those scommercials for the life insurance, a happy man, with his newborned son and with his thai wife, a perfect couple...weeks after I get to see him going home with the most disgusting ladyboy I've ever seen, drunk and unwashed and saying that he was on his way home to his wife along with the ladyboy...it simply shocked me...the point is "The owls are not always what they seem..."
