His family is exceptionally wealthy; their fortune made from canned fish. Amongst others, they own the John West brand.

FFP rules mean he can't just splash the cash; he has to make decisions based on "expert" advice, which seems to be more bad than good.

Take it from me, he's skint. The family just let him go off and do his thing. Why would you think TUF or John West isn't splashed all over the club? They're a rich family, but not exceptionally so, not in todays terms and it isn't his money. Seem to think around £700M being quoted.

He sold the ground to his wife and took a loan out against it (don't ask), the ticket prices are eye wateringly high. In respect of P&S (Not FFP) we're in a good place but we've just recruited a load of cheap continental freebies. He's skint, take it from me.

While the club, sitting bottom of the Championship, was not technically up for sale, he said he would be open to offers.''''

Here's the big chance. Get the fans organised and buy the club. Man Utd was up for sale a while back and if 20k fans had put their hands in their pockets for 600 squids each; the club would have been theirs.

This is maybe, a once in a lifetime chance to own yer club. Get in there Owl fans.

I think he's a bit of a narcissist and gaslighter Owl. I reckon he did it with Darren Moore. Wanted shut of him and then manufactured or at least embellished a disagreement to get shut. Now he's doing the same with the fans, oh i'm not going to spend any more money because you're protesting against me when the real reason is has hasn't got a pot to Pxxx in. All in my humble opinion of course.

He can't sell the club now, he wants his money back and the club isn't worth anywhere near what he's ploughed into it.

There is plenty of time left.

Tonights rumour, believe it or not, is that Scott Parker is being lined up to take over. I'd be surprised if this was the case, southerners going up north tend to get nose bleeds. Get a few Baht on him if you can.

Unfortunately it seems like the team is just not up to it. Just what is wrong with them?

I think the Thai Chairman is skint. He brought this bloke in, probably paying him a pittance, he's recruited frees, some  from abroad, he's dropped most of the existing players to play his new recruits that don't look up to standard. Fully expect the players we finished the season with will now be brassed off. He's isolated Marvin Johnson, won't name him in the 25 man squad but there was deal on the table to loan him to Derby, so we now pay his wages but can't play him, why wasn't he sent out on loan. Johnson is training alone and the fans don't know whats happened. Reece James another one, we had him on loan last season and signed him between managers, now he can't get in the side. Now they both play on the LHS, but he currently has a right winger playing there.

There's protests being organised, Chairman releases statement condemning fans. It's a mess. Here's the Chairmans statement.

    https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2023/september/dejphon-chansiri-club-statement_/

Blokes not the full ticket, it takes a special type of character to pee on the euphoria after the play offs, but he's managed it.

    Owl Log - 01-10-2023 - Sunday afternoon

I thought there was something odd about that pylon (we used to call them; 'gangoleers') next to the 2022. Just had to investigate.

    ccreepers.png.2a611a6912e23eaad1bc50364508b622.png

The creepers are reclaiming their habitat.

    creepers.png.80f5445fd52db7c3c0c4aba7c7790fc0.png

Mrs Owl was with me, so I couldn't get closer. I'll keep my eye on that particular pylon. Try to get a few close-ups next time.

We were on our way back from the garden centre. Went to three, before finding the little trees that she wanted.

These centres are great for a mooch about.

The avoes, that me and Mildred planted, looked a bit down with 'transplant shock'. But we gave them some water, and the following day they were looking much better.

Special day in our area yesterday. Only happens twice a year. I told Mildred about it. Great excitement. The Mrs was not so enthused.

On Friday there was a special Buddha. First have to give morning offerings at the temple. Then - and it must be before noon - give any land that you wish to prosper, a little something. A sort of bribe or sweetener. Mrs Owl gave some cookies, fruit and a couple of fags.

Michael and Mem came to see us last Sunday. The dogs were overjoyed to see them. And when they left, both Robert and Oscar, cried for an hour.

Treated myself to new footwear. Tried them on and they fitted OK. Was a bit shocked at the price; 85 baht. But she was a fine looking lady and, I didn't want to disappoint her. So I splashed out.

I've said not to cut them down until they mature. Will save me a fortune. But then again, one of the reasons for visiting Ting, the 'hat lady' will have gone.

Nature is strange! There is one tree, in number two farm, that is bristling with nuts. It's the only one that I can see like this.

    Finally a most incredible pic.

I was researching pre-war football on the comp', when I felt a strange sensation on me toe. I looked up and,,.

    toe.png.015b8758ff73db3113dba3806cf21830.png

A shaft of light. A message! A warning! A sign! Gonna win a few competitions with that pic.

I was just thinking that The Owls were turning the corner. When,,, slap, whack, bang,, a 0-3 loss at home to Sunderland. In big trouble now. Leeds travelled to out-of-sorts Saints, and were hopeful of 3 points. 3-1 to the South Coast team. City lost at Wolves. The Hatters got a dream win at Toffees. Toon smash Blades for 8. At Bramall lane too.

Very contentious VAR decisions at two matches yesterday. Both Seagulls and Pool can say; ''we was robbed''. And they were. Just like The Cottagers a week or so ago against City.

Back in Dagenham,. Two of my local teams were matched up in the early FA Cup round. Aveley and Hornchurch. Replay in the week as it ended 2-2.

Mildred got her  first commissioned bit of artwork last week/end. She did www 'painting' for someone and got paid 50 baht. In 'True money'. I've seen it. It's very good. Don't think I can show it without the owner's permission. I'll ask.

Mildred has gone all treeified. Her last three paintings have all centred around trees. And I keep finding these little sketches scattered about. I think she does them when she's chatting to her mates on LINE. I'll put them at the bottom of the OL.

The end of the wet season is finally here. I have thought that before, and it has rained. But this time I'm sure. We can now look forward to 5 dry months. Starting today.

Big golf w/e. England are smashing the Yanks evidently. Somewhere is Spain.

Bloody skint til later this week. Had 14k spare and it all went on debt repayments. Can't even afford any cheese at the mo.

I've been informed by Mrs Owl that Thaksin Shin', will be out of hospital, and free, by the end of the year. i want to see Yingluck back. Always thought she was a nice bird. Thought that about other women too though. I'm not the best judge of the washer-uppers perhaps.

Have to charge the pick-up battery, whenever I want to go out. Might buy a new one soon.

The light has gone out at the front. That's the one that I sorted out a couple of months ago. Could get to it this week. Mildred is off school until the 24th of this month. That is great for me. Some company. And she can help me fix the light.

    1219089671_aalight.png.161b6258e5f8e729be2ccc1fe817d3c2.png

Waiting for the £ - Baht exchange rate to shoot up. Hovering between 44 and 45 at the mo. Perhaps that's it. No more 70+ baht to the pound. I need it. And I'm not the only one. Could go the other way even; down to high 30s. Mrs Owl say she wants to go to England to earn her fortune. I say that is extremely difficult, and fraught with obstacles. But she has been talking to the 'right' people and says it's easy.

Sad story of a fatal incident in Croydon, London. 15 year old girl was the victim.

Move Forward Party's, and, Deputy House Speaker, Padipat Santipada has been ousted from the position. A strategic move evidently!

Only one thing left to say; bye y'all.

That clock looks familiar. What is it? Of course it's Big Bill. Or is it Ben?

A couple of easy peasy questions for the footy guys out there that post.

Since WW11, what top flight team in the first league then 1946/47  til now, is at the lowest position down the leagues?

Second one. What top flight champion is lowest as of now 19 Sept' 2023?

Grimsby Town? I googled the league table from 46/47.

Second one. Derby County. I used google again. Hope I understood the questions correctly.

It's a tough question and one that couldn't possibly be answered until that tragic moment ever arrives. If you straight off say you definitely would not, then you don't have kids.

It's not a tough question at all. I would not and I have kids that I love, so that blows your argument to bits. And not only that, they know I wouldn't, to such an extent, they'd be astounded if I did.

Educated guess Owl. Pompey I know used to fly high. I don't know if the game you speak of was a league or cup game, chances are it was a league game so I thought it could be Everton or Pompey but Everton has been a decent side for a long time so I plumped for Pompey.

Question is though, was I right. I'll await the result in midweek.

Owls get their first point of the Championship season at Elland Road.

And well worth the point as well. We're improving week on week, hopefully that continues. Managed to get Jeff Hendricks (Newcastle) and John Buckley (Blackburn) in on loan. Couple of weeks working with what he has and we'll soon see. Needs to start picking wins up though now.

Bizarre Owl. That is the day I first went to watch The Owls. I'd be 8 years old and my sister took me. Result was Owls 3-0 Bolton Wanderers. I did a bit of digging around that time a few years ago and was surprised to learn that in those days the team you played on Boxing Day was the team you played on New Years Day if I remember correctly.

    Good guess Owl.

Jimmy Hill did come on to replace an injured linesman, but not at The Cottage.

It was the Arsenal v Liverpool match in 1972. Didn't wear shorts though.

Twenty plus attempts at goal last evening against Mansfield. Better.! Don't matter about penalties. Have to concentrate on getting a win at the w/e now. Just looked. Away at Elland Road.

Normally wouldn't be too worried about leeds Owl but we are poor. Yes 20 shots or so but against a team from 2 divisions lower and with quite a few injuries. Not good enough.

    Anyway; come on you cottagers!!

And talking about Fulham;;  a quiz question.

On Boxing Day 1963, Fulham beat Ipswich 10–1. The match was also notable for what?

a/ The Thames had a particularly high tide and water was breaching the 'Riverside stand'.

b/ A hat-trick was scored in record time.

c/ Jimmy Hill - TV pundit - came on as linesman after the original official twisted his ankle and went off.

d/ Match was going to be abandoned due to a floodlight failure 10 minutes from the end. The game was stopped for 6 minutes before the lights returned. Note: The floodlights had only been installed 4 months earlier.

e/ Nine goals scored in the second half. 2-0 at half time.

    Answers on a postcard please.

I'm going for "C" Owl, just the sort of thing JH would do. And no, if I get it right it's a pure guess, I haven't googled it.

Owls lose again. Four on the spin. But have a doddle of a home game against Mansfield Town this week.

Improved performance again, really should have had a point which would have netted me £20. Think the writing could be on the wall for us, the fans are sick of the Thai owner and want him out. Midweek v Mansfield in a league cup game I think it is, certainly not a league game.

Things are turning toxic now, crowd singing for Chansiri to get out of the club at yesterdays game.

the less said about the Owls the better

Very poor again, but improvement non the less. I didn't check the possession stats after the game but the commentator during the game had it up around 50%. Fortunately the commentators were home fans as well, can't stand listening to the opposition commentators although some aren't too bad. The most concerning thing though is the total lack of threat on goal. There's a breakdown of supply to the strikers, if it isn't resolved then we'll be going back from whence we came.

We appear to have some local lad who's made it good in the states fancying a buy out. He has backers apparently, NFL ex players and reportedly a billionaire on board as well. I reckon he's just a tyre kicker though. Made his money in mental health, Owls supporters need some of that I can tell you.
