    I liked her a lot.

    Strong willed lady.

Changed her name to a long name for lucky; 31 letters

    Born 1984 in Nakhon Sawan

    Height 1.57cm (5ft 2in)

    Weight 52.72 kg.

    Who is she?

Thaksins sister? I know that is wrong as the birth year doesn't match but it's the taking part that counts isn't it?

a/ Named after a local playground.
b/ Named after the founder of the club's wife's first name; Lady Molineux Sabille.
c/ The area had links to Molineux District in France, Going back to 1800s.
d/ Molineux is French for 'great arena', and it was thought appropriate to name the ground thus.

I'll go with "B" please Owl, which is a pure guess and I refuse to google it.

The Wednesday were originally a cricket club. But some of the players liked to play footy. The only day they could get together was Wednesday; when they had a day off. 'The Wednesday' name, hung about to 1929, when they changed it to what it is now.

Not sure about the date originally formed; about 1890 I reckon. I'll look that up, and report back. Or better still Owl; post the answer.. You are sure to know.

As you say, the club was first formed in 1820 is the general consensus although there is some evidence that it was formed in 1816 which would put it just a year after The Battle of Waterloo. And you're right again Owl, it was a Cricket Club where the players found time to play as that was their day off or half day off. It was The Wednesday Cricket Club.

Jump forward to 4th September 1867 where it was decided at the Adelphi Hotel in Sheffield to branch out into football where that would enable the players to stick together over the winter months and to also keep them fit.

I'd personally much prefer to return to The Wednesday Football Club and there was a poll conducted on a fans forum which showed that we were in the minority, not like it would ever happen anyway.

Our original nickname was The Blades, not a lot of people know that. That changed at some time after  we moved home to Hillsborough, or Owlerton as it was more commonly know then and visitors more or less changed that by common usage and the presentation of an Owl mascot to the club around 10 years after moving in there.

We are currently the 4th oldest league club due to Wrexham entering the league proper now and Notts County being still out of the league proper. Sorry, stop that, we're 5th again due to Notts County being back in. Interesting to see Crystal Place now laying claim to being older than Notts County, that is a load of old cobblers from cockney spivs though.????

And of course, the oldest league club, independent of any other influences is Sheffield Football Club. Strangely enough the second oldest club is Hallam FC which also hails from Sheffield, based in the Crosspool area. I think Hallam also have the oldest ground in the world as well.

But on the upside; didn't I get it right in the footy

Hmmm, not sure Owl. You got the score correct but you were due to tell us the origin of my teams name but I don't think you got round to it. Or did I miss the answer.????

Of course, the answer should include the date the club was founded.

Well done Owls. Barnsley or Bolton' who'd yer fancy?

I'd have preferred Bolton. Barnsley have already beaten us twice this season. That game though tested my nerves, couldn't watch that week in week out, way too much stress. Get the final out of the way and hopefully get settled back down again wherever we finish up playing next season

Owl Mini Log - 18-05-2023 - Thursday morning.

The good news is that Man City are through to the Champions League final after whacking Real Madrid 4-0 (agg 5-1). Sorry to upset any Real fans reading the thread. Very sorry. Very <deleted> sorry. Honest!!

The not-so-good news is on two fronts. Firstly; Ivan Toney - Brentwood and England - has been suspended from playing any form of football for 8 months. He was found to have wagered - at least 200 times - on football outcomes. Details of the actual betting have not yet been released.

    And.

    Indonesia 5 - Thailand 2 AET.

The AFC final match was played in Cambodia on Tuesday evening and featured two big brawls. 4 players were given their marching orders. Thailand won the fighting 3-1 and finished with just 8 players on the pitch.

One of the Indonesian scorers showed off his fashion bra during a goal celebration.

Big one tonight in Sheffield. Post take a 4 goal advantage to Hillsborough. Eventual winners will meet either Barnsley or Bolton in the Wembley final.

Great post again Owl, but you forgot to mention the greatest comeback of all time.

    No need to thank me.
