So a fair and impartial account then.
Fair and impartial are not requirements to reveal/support truth.

Now that the supreme court has ruled the electoral college system must follow what the people voted for there is no more use for it.
Is that true?
Is this the Federal Supreme Court or a state court(s)?
I recently read that several states had or would make that change but not all had.
If you are correct I rejoice and agree with you 100%.

But USA people still like him.
And before he win, he talk about “grab” womens.....
Many women say he do it. And cheat his wife with sex worker.
i surprise that he very popular in USA.
IMO he sleaze lier. Not good guy for President.
But..
Up to the (USA) people.
If it's fair to say that "USA people" like Trump, is it fair to say that "Thailand people" like Prayut?
Hopefully you see my point about making broad statements regarding large and diverse groups of people.
Not only are such statements almost universally wrong, they are also usually needlessly insulting and divisive.
As for Trump being "very popular" in America, I invite you to do some research on the latest American opinion polls.
Whether he is re-elected is indeed up to the American people. This is their chance to correct a regrettable error in judgment and to demand a reformation of the flawed Electoral College system that allowed him to take office against the will of the people. It should be remembered that Trump lost the popular vote by several million votes.
Your statement about Trump's lies is correct however and factually verifiable by even the most biased observer.

maybe some farang needs to sit down with their IT guy and explain the problems and issues.
Obviously they are not aware of how bad it is ...
We can sit here and complain until the cows come home but that ain't gonna fix it.
The 'face' issue here would prevent anything remotely like your suggestion from ever happening.
If the designers were aware of their incompetence they would have sought advice before they started. If they are aware of it now they won't willingly admit it. If they are not aware of how bad it is then they are truly incompetent.
I have yet to see a Thai website that is easy to navigate and works properly. Even the Bangkok Bank website is only minimally functional.
This is just not a strength here. The Thai IT infrastructure is in its infancy.
The typical Thai citizen does not reach for a web browser in daily life. Until that changes there is no impetus (money) for web development to grow.

Well - if you could wake up anyplace/someplace else tomorrow - where would you be instead.....?
Me, personally, I'd wake up in America in the 1950's. Not being 10 yo again this time. But being 25 again at that time would be great.
I was very lucky to have good parents and lots of opportunity to make any life I wanted and was willing to work for.
It was not idyllic but humans were just starting to dig ourselves into the holes that have now become too numerous and deep to crawl out of.
I cannot blame people who are pessimistic now, but neither can I recommend it. We're all doomed to death, but there's not much point in dwelling on it.
Change what you can and accept the rest.

Who benefits?
The virus by spreading its RNA, and autocrats who tighten their control.
Pretty much everybody else loses to some of extent or another.

it is cheaper to buy the equipment and do it yourself
this is what i have just done,
as my house has 10 Aircon units
usually price is around 500-700 baht per unit
you can buy the Gas (~500 baht) and pressure gauges (~1200 baht) on Lazada
that is all you need
check what gas your Aircon requires (most modern wall units are R32)
many units have a big sticker on the compressor or just check model online
you are looking for R32 or R401a usually for recent units,
also use R32 and R401a to search on lazada for equipment as rest is usually in Thai
plenty of youtube videos show you how to top up gas
as for cleaning filters just take them out and rinse in shower, easy as.
sounds like whoever done the service for you,
charged you the price for the new equipmentThe OP was about cleaning, not refilling with refrigerant. But you provide good info anyway. It is pretty easy to top up with gauges and a refrigerant bottle as you say.
As for cleaning, I paif 500 each for 3 units in Cha-am. However, they did significantly more than clean the blower filter as you suggest, thst is indeed trivial.
They took the evaporator unit in the room apart, minimum tools required, but some experience with the plastic housing no doubt helped. They took the blower fan and the drop pan outside and pressure washed them. The also put a plastic hood with drain bag around the evaporator inside and power washed it down into a drain bucket. Then they went outside and power washed the condenser unit fins. The condenser fins can be easily cleaned with a pressure nozzle on a hose and is much more likely to require cleaning than the evaporator inside does. Allowing either unit to suffer with dirty fins will shorten compressor life and waste electricity.
Clearly this is a relatively simple job with the right tools and supplies, but messing around on a ladder in the house, washing, etc. is not enjoyable to me. I worked and saved for retirement a good part of my life and think that avoiding such things is part of my payback. That seemed well worth 500 thb to me.
I hesitate to mention the fact that even if you have an engineering degree, designed and built air con units before you retired, your Thai mate will consider you foolishly incompetent compared to the 20 yo Thai "Aircon Engineer" who cleans your unit. Just accept that fact, pay the money, and move on. ????
If you use an aircon very much I know from experience that cleaning once a year is mandatory and hygenic. I don't do it every year for units that we don't use heavily.
Topping up the refrigerant should only be necessary every few years at most. If you need to do it every year then you have a leak.

@Peter Denis has researched this topic exhaustively. After multiple correspondence with him and doing my own research I paid 50k thb for Pacific Cross insurance that is actual insurance. My USA Medicare and supplemental policy didn't cover me in Los.
If you just need insurance for immigration just bite the bullet and buy the hollow LNG policy with the maximum deductible and fake coverage. At this date it's the cheapest and fastest way out.
I delayed accepting reality and the two weeks it took me to get the insurance meant I was on the very last day of my permission to stay extension. Don't make that mistake.
My plan is to use Peter's Road map from OA to O visa next year assuming I can leave the Kingdom and immediately return, letting the OA die. The O does not require insurance, AT THIS POINT IN TIME. Nonetheless, at my age I should have real insurance so I'll probably renew my PC policy again next year.
Despite the Thai government head fake about accepting non-thai insurance, time has proven that they don't honor that form they publish, as UbonJoe has stated unequivocally.
However, my German friend was able to get his O visa by showing his national policy, so clearly some EU policies are accepted.
If your are an American national don't even try that route; it's futile.
Also, the visa amnesty is another trap. You can stay but if you overstay your Permission Extension you will have to leave after the amnesty expires and start the entire visa process again to return.
The reality is that the insurance companies, the hospitals, the pharmacies, and the Thai government have successfully managed to force OA visa holders to pay for this insurance. Just consider it an application surtax.

Do what most of us do, Im going to makro tonight and get a case of beer, sorted!
Truly, I'll never understand this forum topic as it repeats every time there is a short ban.
Just buy a few cases and replenish them when you run low. Otherwise ignore the whole issue.
I don't drink very much but determined long ago to stop playing this game.
I pretty much do the same with non-perishable groceries. Especially now it's annoying to venture to the store for a couple of items.
I understand that many Thai folks cannot afford to buy/store in bulk. But it seems like most expats should generally have the funds and foresight to do so.

How much dol they charge at Jomtien for the resident certificate and do you need 2 for both a motorbike and a car license? or can you just make a copy and use that for the second license. Thanks
Yes, one needed for each license. Must be originals with photo and stamp.
I just did it at Huahin IO a few months ago.
Don't forget the doctor's health exam report.
I don't remember for sure but believe two originals of that are needed too. Basically you are submitting the required documents for each license as separate transactions.

The most important mail to USA for me will be my absentee Election Ballot for the upcoming presidential election.
It's my understanding (please verify) that if it gets to Thailand it can be returned to the American embassy in Bangkok.
I assume they have a guaranteed mail service from there back to USA.
That's if Agent Orange doesn't order the immigration service to quarantine ballots from foreign countries to be quarantined until after the election. ????

Yes US taxes due July 15. Down to the deadline. Gonna try to file online this year.
You can still file for an extension, the first of which is always allowed by IRS without question. But simply state that you need the extension because you are outside USA.
I'm pretty sure you can file this simple form online too.
No penalties unless you actually owe taxes.
Even when living in the USA I did this for many years, every year. No problems at all.

I also disagree with your interpretation. I’ll wait and see what dire circumstances I find myself in. Up to now I seem to be fine
Again, disagreement is always your option. I wasn't arguing about that.
Otherwise I was stating undeniable facts regarding the jurisdiction of sovereign countries/states.
The sole arguable exception being that denying reality "often", not always, leads to bad ends.
It is allowable to disagree with gravity, but doing so often leads to disagreeable ends.

Any reason why there have been no reported cases? Surely if someone thinks they have covid, they will be going to the hospital and requesting a test. Are hospitals even charging for tests of those that show symptoms of covid and think they have it?
How many years is this army going to go around infecting others, yet the others show no symptoms? Seems like everyone in fear of an asymptomatic carrier is not healthy and should perhaps think about protecting themselves. Keep wearing your mask, keep social distancing, and keep sanitizing things while healthy people go back to leading their lives.
Exactly as you say. People must judge their own risk factors and act appropriately. Naturally those who choose to deny prevailing laws and edicts are generating a new set of decidedly non-medical risks to themselves.
I personally made a decision to avoid infection and therefore will continue to wear a mask and avoid close contact with others when I leave my house. I will continue to do so until I judge the risks factors TO ME are minimal. I will do this regardless of whether the law requires this or not. So for now, this is 'the new normal' FOR ME.
This said, I will never attempt to force my view or behavior on others except when they are enter my property. In that case I reserve the right to dictate their behavior.
Unabashedly, it's all about me. ????

I agree with everything you say except the nonsense about being guests
A guest is somebody who is not a citizen. So you are certainly welcome to deny your status but you surely realize that you cannot change it without formally becoming a citizen.
If you don't have a Thai passport then you are a guest subject to deportation at the sole discretion of the Thai government. That is the hard reality of it. Denying reality often leads to dire circumstances.
It follows that it is equally difficult to formally become a non-citizen of your birth country, especially so in America. It is both difficult and expensive to renounce citizenship there.

Seriously, the worst the left could do to destroy the nation is to lose the election to Trump again.
I cringe when I hear Trump opponents stating with gleeful assurance that Trump will lose.
We need to keep our eyes on the prize and assume he will win if we don't work like crazy to get others to vote. Don't talk to others about how bad he is, talk to them about voting against him.
Words and feelings don't count, votes do.
Furthermore, be prepared to carry the fight until he leaves office; him losing the election is likely just the first step.
