While I understand all the frustration and irritation of folks on this thread it's important to keep three things in mind: 1. This applies only to the mobile app. 2. Many Thai people are being scammed into transferring large amounts to external bank accounts, those unknown to your bank 3. Mobile apps with or without facial recognition invite funds theft if the phone is lost or the owner being hostage. In view of this it's clear (to me) that the banks are not doing this to irritate or discriminate against non-thai folks. These are guard rails to minimize problems for the banks and their customers as the internet becomes a more dangerous playground daily. As one reply tried to say: Stop clutching your pearls over a minor inconveniece. Personally I have never had nor ever will have any app that can access my assets directly on my phone. It is simply not worth the risk to me for the minor convenience it offers. Society is paying in manifold ways from poor nutrition to environmental damage to risky banking all for the sake of 'convenience'. As if saving scant minutes here or there will grace them with the time to finally conquer the universe as they planned. Nobody puts their seat belt or helmet on on just before they have an accident. Putting it on as soon as you enter the car is tolerable to you or it's not.

That has happened to me several times at Makro in Pranburi. Often they send a runner to fetch the second item. I have never experienced the other scams named in this thread. Just sayin'

How to transport Honda Wave Bangkok to Pattaya
RocketDog replied to Cricky's topic in General Topics
We did it several years ago by bus. Cheap. We rolled it up and they hoisted it into a storage area on the side of the bus. -
I feel the same. Besides that if your phone is stolen or lost the app gives them access unless you have 2FA and a good password. Of course if the 2FA goes to your phone, well....... either way it's a risk I have no reason to take. I will be closing my account with SCB and finding another bank that allows true internet banking besides my account at BBL.

Agreed. I'm keeping some in two banks but most of the money I transfer to LOS now goes into gold. Anything else is realistically just virtual numbers that can evaporate overnight. That said I'm getting 4% interest in funds I keep at Wise. I play the forex market and convert some to the thb 'jar' when the baht weakens. I also have metals in two other countries. Check out Silver Bullion vault in Singapore and gold pool at Kitco in Canada. Both fully manageable online 7/24/365.

US Tourist's Temple Graffiti Sparks Outrage in Chiang Mai

You must understand the irony. Does "FU" have more information content than my reply? Some folks wouldn't understand the abbreviation so for them your post had no content. But hey. Go for it. No reason not to further embarrass yourself. It is entertaining. -

How eloquent. But......as expected. -
Casting large groups of people into a single simplistic category has the advantage of being mentally unchallenging and entirely precludes the need for structured judgment and discernment. A lazy mind is a happy mind.☺️ Well done. You earned 2 Lazada Coins. Personally I find mammals repulsive. Aquatic life is tolerable if it stays under the water. Avians just clutter the skies and deserve to be sucked into jet engines. What say you Ted?

Another Farang bully makes the news.

Too bad the pot didn't contain boiling oil. The outcome would have been quite dramatic. Watching the man suddenly break out in dance would have been entertaining. -
Relationship Dynamics: Ladyboys vs Women in Thailand?
RocketDog replied to Alpha84's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
As for your DNA criterion, how would you classify my brother with YY chromosomes who has Klienfelter Syndrome? My point: Categorizing people's gender strictly by their DNA is a fool's game. Nature is full of endless wonderful variations on everything living. Some are beneficial adaptations and some are not; it's called evolution. Clearly people having XY chromosomes have not always served humanity beneficially. Young men are often dangerous to themselves and those around them and are generally eager for a conflict. Without testosterone most wars would simply never get off the ground as older men don't like to fight or die. Arbitrarily putting things into simplistic categories is generally not useful when dealing with people. We are all different and unique down to the quantum level. -

And the poor souls born with genitalia of both genders? Disposable people? You seem to be very clear on gender issues so I thought I'd ask. -
I did notice that. Trump lying about the free jet and now tap dancing around the emoluents clause. I've seen you getting very nimble lately too. By my reckoning Trump has been in office more than a day and the Ukraine war rages on. Putting on your dancing shoes? I know your mental arrangement syndrome is a burden. Well, as they say: Break a leg!

LOL. that's the same strategy I use. Cue up the order on my laptop but place order on my phone. Not huge gains but worth the minor effort.

Interesting fact, I didn't know that. What you or I know does not matter unfortunately; it's what the IO knows that matters. When I did the OA to O conversion last year, the low rank document checking lassie at the Hua Hin IO told me I could not use my BKK time deposit account (used ONLY for immigration) could be used. I had to establish a new one and USE NEW funds to top it up!!!!!! Of course she was wrong but it did start the bank trips over the next two days to prove I had funds there for several years, and all had been funded by FTT deposits. Thanks.
