Do these guys even remember what they did last year?
Impose new stay at home orders and watch this thing disappear again.
Do I need to call the PM myself?
Is there a reason why this isn't being done?
This is a bandaid on a massive head wound. As long as people aren't told to stay home, guess what, they won't!
Lock things down or soon they'll be forced into a Wuhan type lockdown and nobody wants that.
Guess you are on some kind welfare where the money falls out of the sky every month? Those people have easy talkings.
Protect the elder and the weak and open everything else again. That's how it should be done.

Did my 90 day reporting online today and it was instantly approved? Last time it took a day or 2 days or so... (Chonburi).

Better to get the real deal imo, The original is always better than the copy. Your immunity system will get the best boost. Or you die if you are old and/or weak, but than the problem is solved also.

This virus or at least the measures show that lots of people would be fine German citizens in 1939. Instead of staying in their homes if they are afraid they would rather call the police to do something about people having fun. Sad, really sad.

Did someone pee in your Mekong?
No, they want the working class to not earn any money because of lockdowns why would they get paid? And to make matters worse, it isn't the working class that's targeted by Covid, but the elderly. Besides with their welfare income they can stay at home and be safe. Let the rest of the world do it's thing.

If a career in research has taught me anything, it's that the manipulation of statistics is an old established art form, that can tell you anything you want them to, or that someone else wants you to know, or wants to make you think you know. I would need to know a lot more about the process validity and procedural rigor of data collection and interpretation, than just looking at a graph produced on social or main stream media.
In Belgium we have the Sciensano website. Those are the official stats: https://epistat.wiv-isp.be/covid/ Enjoy the data. And I'm pretty sure that even on this site the Covid deaths are way exaggerated. Most elderly people didn't die from Covid but with Covid.
It's not only statistics, also logical thinking and simple maths. If you would believe the media half of India has been cremated by now. Italy the same. Media is blowing all this Covid <deleted> out of proportions to get attention. They should be held responsible for all the fear and economic turmoil they caused. And the economic tsunami is still to come.
People on welfare that are pro lockdowns should not receive any money until the lockdowns are finished. That would mean solidarity with all those economic active people who lost their jobs for a disease you need to be tested to even know you had it.

If Covid thought us anything is that a lot of people would be amazing German citizens in 1939.

No, but at least you can put things in perspective. But people who are scared aren't open for logic, statistics nor reasoning. Fear is primordial and overrules higher brain functions. And that's what the media and politicians did. Inspire a continuous stream of fear into people. Same thing that happened in 1939.
It's like arachnophobia. People who suffer from it will almost never conquer that fear.

Even at 79 Covid isn't a death sentence. People really should get a grasp about basic statistics.

That is a good answer.
So how are you going to earn money over the 5 years in Thailand?
Who says he needs to earn money?

It's not that simple. Supposing I wrote a book here. I then got it published by a US publishing company. I receive royalties from book sales which were predominantly in the USA. Would that be Thai sourced income because I happened to write the book here? Or would it be US sourced income?
Apples and oranges. Writing a book isn't the same as working for remote clients/companies and getting paid every month or by contract. You'll have to talk to a royalties expert...

17% of domestic sourced income.. 0 for non domestic..
Some people really have basic reading comprehension issues...But, if the work is done on Thai soil it's domestic sourced income.

- Also every freakin' year I must extend my work permit, in which the type of work and even the exact place of work is meticulously prescribed. If I work anywhere else or do something else than what is noted in that document, I am committing a crime.
I meet all the preconditions described in the article, save 8% in income tax (or actually much, much more because I hardly earn any income IN Thailand at all; a few thousand baht a year at most).
Where do you physically work? If you work online from within Thailand that income is income earned in Thailand (locally sourced incomed). Even if it gets paid abroad, etc...

This OP also destroys the often repeated myth from many members that " the police only get money from farangs and not the Thais".
There is a serious pandemic occuring currently, please follow the guidelines and stop complaining.
A serious pandemic? Man, buy the book: statistics for dummies and learn to think for yourself instead of getting brainwashed by the media.

Even if you are comfortable with router UI, I would still get 3BB to come and put it into bridge mode, it’s not your kit to go digging around in. If the tec does it, then you know you are starting from a good place.
Then they should remove the login/password at the bottom of the router.

Click's probably run on Lao Khao, available in 7/11. ????
91 is standard for a Click. Even my KLX just needs 91. Only my big bike needs 95.

I understand your point and argument, but do you think your calculation would be higher if social distancing, mask wearing, hand sanitation and border lockdowns were not in place ?
Not really, those things just prolong the inevitable and people can only die once. The question is, how many deaths are caused by the economic tsunami that is happening and the Covid rules like isolation, depression, unemployment,... Not only in the West, but globally?
Something to think about: now we see some 'British mutation' that's more contagious than the original one. So we are putting everything in 'lockdowns', so what mutations are going to survive those? Right the more contagious ones... it's like playing Plague inc.
The only simple solution was: protect the elder and the weaker like we do with other viruses that are harmful to them.

No it's not. It's only 0.026% of the world population and it's mostly the very elderly and those with serious health conditions. The active population and younger populations don't really suffer from Corona.
How many % of the world population dies every year, you think? People just can't see the bigger picture. I wonder what would happen if something serious comes along instead of this crappy virus. The media are to blame for this scaremongering. Put fear in people and they forsake all their freedom. No wonder Hitler and others could rise to power.
Emo-arguments don't belong in big people discussions. Big people discussions need to be solved by a calculator, simple as that.

He obviously submitted a formal change of address at Chonburi (TM30).
That is exactly what @DrJack54 suggested the member should have done.
Not sure if he did it before or after the extension. Have to ask him. I know he changed addresses in Chonburi during that time but that was Chonburi to Chonburi.

The visa most likely was obtained in KK.
Your friend was naive to think he could do his 90 day report in Bangkok. Look in pp he will see where visa and extension was issued.
He should have done a TM30 or used same agent for his 90 report.
BTW if it (90 day report) was last month he would not be attending CW, he would have gone to Muang Thong Thani.
Someone I know tried to use the online 90 days reporting (Chonburi) +-80 days after he got his 1 year volunteer extension from KK and it was approved. He thought it wouldn't work but it did. It also was his first online report. He does have a tm.30 from Chonburi.

The last few days a lot of tents have been setup for (undoubtedly) Covid in and around Pattaya. But what is their purpose? I only see the people (police and health care workers?) in there looking at their smartphones... No checks or anything.

Sadly, here in Thailand, MANY would die if the virus took off. More than in the West.
And why would that be?
