For small businesses  cards and digital  payments  are brilliant, secure, and efficient.

with 3 or 4% off the top , yes very efficient but it does stop the fiddle, so maybe better for some small business.

but the revenue have a 100% paper trail, so really efficient for government

I’ve not checked the oil levels in any of my vehicles over the past 25 years....  This is something I expect the Garage to do when I take the car in for a service - I can’t remember the last time I opened a bonnet (hood) of a car !!!!

The only things I expect to have to do on my own vehicle are:

    - Clean it (usually a local valet)

    - Check tyre pressure (I watch the attendant at a petrol station do it to the pressure I ask for)

    - Fill it with fuel (petrol attendants do it)

    - Ensure water for washers (I ask a petrol attendant to do it)

For everything else I expect a warning to signal and the garage to check it.

Thats modern motoring, we’re not in the 1960’s any more where we are expected to get our hands dirty - I can’t be bothered with any of that on modern cars.

yes ok, and then there are those of us who love our cars and engines and we prefer to look after them.

but of course , as they say around here ....up to you.

in which camp do you put the OP then ? because He did neither.

The above paragraph reveals the lack of proper maintenance resulted in your engine's failure. Suggesting that the dealers failure (3 days before) to check the oil level, should make them responsible is asinine, when by your own admission you hadn't checked it for a "few months".

yes and in that few months , surely the OP would have opened the bonnet and filled the washer bottle ,

how long does it take to lift a dipstick? it's a bit rich  to blame the workshop. No sympathy from me, he wrecked his own Engine.

I suspect this spread by word of mouth in the main..... people usually have more confidence in something tried and tested by someone they perhaps know. Wonder if it went through falang or Thai wife grapevines.

he networked it through the Thai wives and other Thai women that he knew, and paid them a commision for successful referalls

When I came here with a mate for my first holiday which was for 4 weeks I had more birds than you could shake a stick at ???? That was about 17 years ago, for approximately 5 years I came here twice a year, each was for 4 weeks, I had a whale of a time every visit, and the girls were stunners, unfortunately today the standards have dropped somewhat & I'm truly grateful that I no longer have to rely on the P4P scene.

But back in the day fun was had by all, and the crazy exchange rate made it so so affordable ????????

and now the party's over........all dreams must end   ????

  6. yes and probably the bank will keep it going for a heck of a time, but in the end they will have to pay the damages,

Also in the way they are dealing with this , They themselves have caused irrepairable damage to thier business,

it is a foolish way to carry on really, as the trust in their name will never be recovered. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

perhaps they may have to liquidate even , given that no cusomer will feel safe depositing funds with them now.

Again you seem to know more about Thai law than I do. I do not have that level of confidence.....

People seem to do wrong with impunity here all too often.

yes I agree, however you have to understand that if this Guy was not working for the bank , and stopped any of these investors in the street, do you think that any of them would have withdrawn their money from the bank and handed it to him on the promise  of such good returns, of course they wouldn't. they only did this because they were under the umbrella of the bank,

on the bank premises talking to the bank employeee. they felt safe only because of the bank name. Therefore because the bank interviewed and employed him they are liable. The investors simply trusted the bank and the banks name. not the guy personally.

I personally do not know if those liability clauses are written into insurance..... it is often said 'liability, responsibility' etc are less of a thing in Thailand.

less of a thing in Thailand,   maybe,  but if insurance is not there,  then the Bank or company would have to make compensation

for damage and injury to the injured Party,  on thier premises,  caused by their employee

If a bank employee took out a gun, and shot a customer, in the bank, would the bank be liable? Or could they say he was not acting on behalf of the company

yes the Bank public liability insurance would honour that claim, because it happened on thier premises and by one of thier

emloyees in the working day, also the employee would obviously be tried for murder or manslaughter.

I dont remember ever really enjoying it and dont have any particular reason why even when my kids where young i enjoyed the look on their faces as they opened the presents buts that's it .

it can come from having too much all the time when young, what some may call 'lucky', particularly in modern times.

so , you could say that the younger ones among us , missed out on a fantasic time in our childhood.

there are some things  money cannot buy.

thanks for the reply sir , it's an interesting point, stay safe
