  1. They are exactly the same physical ends and length as fluorescent tubes, T5 or T8

Putting myself out on a limb now but I agree with STWW you have a t8 fitting for a 18/20 watt fluorescent tube. The bayonet cap is an older type of fitting witch has stood the test of time but not for your app.

  2. Be aware the LEDs have a beam angle between 160 -320 degrees where the fluorescents angle is 360 degrees. The leds will throw less light back into the fitting’s reflectors giving a light and dark stripe look. If it is ambience you want you should go the 18 watt fluorescent tube with the electronic ballasts

  3. Sounds great but you have little or no control after u hit the start button. How long is the wash dry cycle? 4 hrs+ maybe. Find you favourite grundies or a single sock 10 minutes after the start button is pressed can u add them to the wash. Will it work on just a dry cycle or is your only options a wash cycle or a wash/dry cycle.
It not the end of the world if you have to go commando tomorrow cause your favs missed the wash. If your not a control freak and don’t mind this machine doing the work for u go for it.

  4. Don’t worry about the tank, get a digital tap timer and connect it to the mains and program it to water at the time you have best pressure. If you need more or less water adjust the duration. If it’s he pressure is still a bit spotty program several times a day.

  5. Not true. Here is one of many examples from authoritative web sites.

    https://www.intergrain.com.au/advice/is-my-decking-upside-down-reeded-decking/

and another from a supplier offering a basic understanding of why they are installed incorrectly.

    http://www.olearyandsons.com/blog/2016/10/17/why-decking-grooves-facing-up-is-wrong/

As I have already stated, and it is noted on the Intergrain site (along with numerous architectural sites if you choose to search for yourself), the reeding minimises the area in contact with the support joist (or bearer) stopping moisture getting trapped there. When moisture sits on timber, any timber it will eventually start to break it down.

It is a fallacy that the reeding above is improve grip. It's not. If you want a non slip surface, buy a paint with such properties.

Thanks fo that info. My deck 4X7 meters was installed reed side down, I later built a couple of ramps when my mother in law moved in with us and I, in my ignorance, installed them reed side up so she would not slip. I have to do some work on one of the ramps so I’ll turn them over. If the experts are wrong and it makes them slippery and she can’t get up that will be a bonus and she can stay outside.

  6. SPDs usually have an indication whether it You are fully protected but this does not tell you what capacity is left. It is best of you replace them every two years or if you know you have taken a couple of hits.(or if the indication light tells you to do so). It maybe cheaper to replace them yearly than buy the test gear which will tell you that you have to replace them anyway.

  7. If the deck is sound wire brush the the areas with loose flaking paint then power wash to remove mould, dirt and oil. Don’t use too higher pressure as that it damages the exposed timber. Paint over with a decking paint. The planks are laid the correct way up for wet areas if you turn them over you will slip rrrrs up and break your neck falling into an MT pool.

  8. My repair man just fixed the issue in 1 min. Option 1 done the trick
He told me the first two things to perform is
    1. On the speed control lever coming from the carb, give it a flick to rev the engine speed.
    2. Flash two specific points on the back of the motor with two wires connected to the battery

I purchased this genset new on 2005 and so far I have spent 3.500 Baht on repairs, not bad for a China made item that many state is crap.

I’ve preformed item two a couple of times with great success and I now wonder had I known about item 1 I may have saved a lot of dickering around. Next time.

  9. The driver drill is the wrong tool for the job. Get off the roof and get an Impact Driver. Your hands and wrists will thank you, your knees will thank you, the roof will thank you and it will be a professional job.

  10. Light machine oil ( sewing machine oil) is best for the sintered bush. A couple of drops into the felt wick every year will do wonders if you can get to them. The WD40 spray on grease is like the stuff they sprayed in your car panels when u got it rustproofed.
Ball bearings use high speed grease either lithium or polyurea base

  11. Before you even start welding ensure you have a good connection with the work clamp. Some of the clamps provided are a poor excuse so you should clean back to bright metal where you clamp it on. When you strike the arc lay the electrode over to about 45 degrees and the arc should maintain now you can stand it more upright and do some welding. Practice and get one of crossies self darkening helmet, I know if I had one I’d prob be able to weld by now. Number 1 get a good connection on that work clamp. Good luck
