What dosage of lipitor (atorvastatin) did he/she have you on? Side effects are typically dosage dependant. 10mg/day is the usual starting point. Not sure if there's a smaller dose than that. I guess you could cut a 10 in half to experiment.
Yes, was on 10mg. Was thinking at the time to cut it, but stopped it completely.

Hello,
I have high cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol levels. Health wise I have a chronic neurologic condition.
Doctor said such high levels are genetically caused and could only be marginally reduced through exercise and weight loss. However I starting to exercise and lost 5kg so far.
I got Vytorin (10/20) (Ezetimibe/Simvastatin) prescript. Which caused extensive nerve pain. We tried a stand alone statin Atorvastatin which caused the same side effects.
I'm now in Ezetimibe + exercise and weight lost but my levels are still to high.
Doctor said last options are PCSK9 Inhibitors but I hesitate as its a injection and I cant just stop it like tablets if I got side effects from it.
I search for some alternatives and found new drugs like Bempedoic Acid (Nexletol) which I brought up at my latest consultation but to my surprise the Dr. never heard about it.
Is there a doctor in Bangkok who is who is up to date on the latest medication to treat elevated cholesterol levels?

Hello,
migth be a strange question but I'm looking for a quiet bar to hang out, preferably buakhao area / beach road / second road.
With quiet I mean no live band or music blasting with 120db through the bar.
Any recommendations welcome

Why 18 - 8 will be ok and long as it clears bodywork.
215 on 8 inch looks very stretched and imho doesn't look very nice, 225 is overkill for my small Mazda 555

Hello,
I have a Mazda 3 with the OEM wheels 205/60 R16. I want to change it to the bigger OEM spec 215/45 R18x7.
I have been to two dedicated rim shops and both told me that R18x7 doesn't exist in the rim after market, just R18x8 or R17x7.5 and I would need 225/45 for those rims.
I want to stick to the OEM specs, can anybody point me to a shop (Bangkok & Pattaya area) or manufacture which provides R18x7 ?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
gf went to a small local dentist in Pattaya, the x-ray showed the need of the extraction of some wisdom tooth as well as a molar tooth.
The dentist said its a "complex extraction near the nerve" which he cant do, he recommended Pattaya Bangkok Hospital.
Bangkok Hospital seems to be the most expensive option, are there other clinics/dentist in Pattaya which can do this kind of complex extractions?
Any help appreciated and thank you in advance.

Pain like pins and needles are characteristics for nerve pain/damage. I would go to a neurologist. First diagnostic step would propably be to do a Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studie to assess nerve damage or misfiring.

In Bangkok BNH has a cannabis clinic with a neurologist on site. They seem to use the GPO medical cannabis products.

Interesting that they work for you for sleeping, I assume you just take them as needed? The first couple of weeks they really nocked me out but now I don't get this effect anymore.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I followed the suggestion to wait a bit and took ibuprofen. After a couple of days I feel better.

Are you Overweight? A fatty liver can cause the liver enzymes to raise. A ultrasound shows normal in the early stages.

Hello,
for some small issues like a common cold or even a flu people tend to go to pharmacy to get diagnosed and get the medication. In some cases I would feel more comfortable seeing a doctor without the need to go to the hospital.
Are there any small Clinics you can recommend? Preferably soi buakhao or around central marina.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Moving from BKK to Chiangmai. Moving boxes are already packed.
Any recommendations on how to get the boxes up to Chiang Mai? No additional service needed like unpacking etc.

Just some feedback for those interested in this issue I saw both Dr Suntchai at BNH and Dr Umaphorn at Bumrungrad (she is also at Sukhumvit Hospital I think) for consultation. They both seemed fairly knowledgeable about prostatitis/urethritis issues and understand the nuances of this difficult to diagnose and treat problem. They are both easy to talk to, explain their thinking well, and patient about listening to my lengthy disease history, especially Dr Suntchai. However their recommendations on further testing and treatment were different. One suggested MRI of the prostate the other cytoscopy for example, and their thinking on antibiotics was not the same either. Dr Umaphorn seems a bit more up to date, she knew very well about fosphomycin and suggested it as the next thing to try should my current treatment fail. Dr Suntchai seems a bit more "old school" but he seems very open and willing to discuss and research alternative treatments if you point him in the right direction. For anyone who has this sort of problem either of these doctors are probably among the best that we can do here in Thailand. Please note I have not actually started treatment with either of these doctors yet, these are my impressions from a single consultation.
Thank you for sharing in great detail! Appreciated Sir.

@OneMoreFarang Did you ask your HR department (not the insurance) if they have some agreement with the insurance to keep existing conditions covered (normally with a high premium e.g +xx%) when leaving the group insurance and move to an individual plan?

Yes it was offered me as an option. The only point made was its very expensive and the insurance might not cover it.
