Do you already have one? If not you should first find out if you can open one from abroad. I remember I had to go there and had to make a first deposit.
No, I do not have one currently.
What I would like to do is convert THB already in my savings account.

Would you be able take more than one litre of liquor through customs at the airport?

I'm not sure where this query belongs but I would appreciate pertinent replies.
I have been trying to get answers from Krungsri Bank, my bank, regarding their Foreign Currency Account (FCA).
I am currently in UK with little or no chance of returning to LoS in the near future.
I usually reside in Hua Hin by way of permission to stay based on retirement.
I would like to convert THB in my account to GBP and hold the proceeds in a FCA. This will enable me to hedge my funds for the next few months.
Having looked at my account at the Krungsri online website I cannot see where such a transaction can be made.
Has any member had a similar request?

It is not the same for everybody, you have to go to the department of land and show tabien baan.
someone I know bought a piece of land (nor sor 3 kor title) then built a house, then went to Department of Land for house registration, the man said the house was illegally built, this title doesn't allow to build on surface, now he got a warning they want demolish his house! Amazing, the guy who built his house is not picking up the phone.
If I am not wrong the leasee doesn't need to pay anything besides the lease contract, the owner is responsible, but probably it depends on what was agreed.
Many thanks for your reply. Most useful.

In the beginning Thaksin did a lot of good for Thai people, woke up the Civil service
so you could get things done in a day,not a week, introduce free health service for Thais
and Farangs, really took action against drug dealers,(killing them maybe went too far),
BUT...then he realised rolling out populist policies for the poor, meant he did not have
to spend his own money to buy votes, and would always win elections,I am not sure
if he really wanted to really help the poor,or just a political ploy, but the poor of Isan
maybe felt for the first time someone cared about their plight.
Then ,as power does it corrupted him, like our friend in America I think he would
loved to become a dictator, that's what power does to you.
regards worgeordie
Sums it up about right.

Can't imagine any tourists coming to Thailand under the current entry conditions.
Despite all the talk, I guess they don't really want foreign tourists any more.
And what would any tourist do after their 14 isolation? From what I understand most bars, restaurants, etc, are closed or closing.

I give Thailand credit for trying to boost tourism. I saw a commercial here un USA from Amazing Thailand promoting tourism. Never saw ads before from Thailand. But, Thailand needs to change focus from tourism and make it lucrative for businesses to set up shop in Thailand. Big companies that can build headquarters. That will bring foreigners and also can be a silent salesman for Thailand. Can't put your eggs in one basket
And retain 51% ownership of those companies.

It doesn't say they will rescind the charge once the pandemic is over. I expect they will keep it in place permanently.
A bit like the fuel surcharge. It was (understandably) introduced serveral years ago when oil was +/- $140 a barrel, now oil is +/- $45 the charge is still there.

Only 172 foreign patients have been allowed in since a first easing of requirements in July, senior health official Tares Krassanairawiwong told Reuters, adding that 740 people had made official requests for entry.
There is of course that itsy-bitsy problem of getting into Thailand that might need a lot more work.
Otherwise, just another revenue earning idea poorly planned and executed
912 in total from the. 632,000 the previous year.

I'm not sure which forum to post this so invigilator please move as necessary.
My friend (71) from UK has been happily married to his Thai wife for several years.
He has now been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and the prognosis is not good.
He is currently living at his home in Thailand and is unable to travel.
Unfortunately, over the years he has never written a UK Will which will mean after his demise his estate will be subject to probate.
He does have a brother in UK but he will require a Power of Attorney to deal with the estate.
Also, I am not sure how his marriage is registered in UK however, I am aware that he would like her to inherit from his estate.
I am sure this is not the first case of it's kind to be discussed here and so I would appreciate any sensible advice from members to help him.

so i went to the gas station next to intersection central pattaya rd & sukumvit,
the girl in the hut pointed me to sukumvit outside gas station,
and the guy there at the entrance of gas station told me they head for ekkamai,
now i just hope he didnt just want to be helpful but actually meant what he said to the letter.
the minivan just stops at the side between sukumvit and the gas stations
In the past minibus drivers have told me that they go to wherever I ask. On a few occasions, I have ended up some place totally different from my requested destination.
Big bus every time for me now.

The most amazing this is that the human figures look like a style similar to cave paintings and rock paintings some other places, however much older dated paintings. Could there be some kind of connection, or is primitive human art just like that...????
Early Lowry style methinks.
