  1. Greta's Facebook page reads, "Autistic & bipolar climate justice activist," under the Intro header. https://www.facebook.com/gretathunbergsweden She has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Her parents, mainly her mother, wrote a book (Scenes from the Heart) about their struggles to deal with Greta's eating disorder, depression and mood swings in the years before Greta became famous. Greta has a younger sister who has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), so the family had some heavy duty mental health issues with which to deal. In her early years of climate-change fame, Greta was dependent on her father (a failed Swedish actor) for support. He served as her caretaker, business manager, chaperone and personal assistant. After Greta turned 18, other people, mostly female volunteers in Greta's climate group, began taking over the support functions her father once filled. It seems recently these close friends have been replaced by hard-core Hamas supporters. If you look at Greta's Facebook page (3.4 million followers), it's now dominated by posts from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. It looks like Hamas has found one more useful fool. It's still unclear to what extent she can function independently when it comes to practical details in life, like managing money and paying bills. It's also unclear whether she is subject to depression and mood swings. Given all of that, coupled with her growing alienation from the climate-change movement and acceptance of pro-Hamas antisemitism, it seems unlikely she'll be able to get a "real job." But maybe she could become a spokesman for a sandwich maker! https://x.com/SpencerJJoseph/status/1932032831800140168/photo/1 Or perhaps do ads for a company that makes waterproof cellphones?
  2. How many of you would like to be on this flight?
  3. Koreans and Korean Americans took to the rooftops to protect their businesses because the LAPD didn't. Much of Koreatown had been burned down prior to the emergence of the rooftop protectors. About half of the total property damage of $1 billion in the LA Riots was done to Koreatown. The most striking feature of the Rooftop Koreans was that no looters or rioters were shot or killed by them. Their presence was enough to scare off looters because the looters feared the Rooftop Koreans would be more likely to shoot them than police. That said, two deaths were associated with the Rooftop Koreans. An 18-year-old Korean American was shot by mistake by other Korean Americans and a Latino man was killed outside a shop, possibly by a rooftop Korean but most likely by a Latino gang member.
  4. Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has criticized Greta Thunberg for her social media plea for her friends and supporters to put pressure on the Swedish government to win her release from Israeli custody. According to the Foreign Minister, the video plea resulted in hundreds of people calling the hotline number the Foreign Ministry uses for Swedes in distress while abroad. "This means that there is currently, as a result of this campaign, a very long waiting time that seriously risks affecting Swedes all over the world who need immediate consular assistance, says Malmer Stenergard to journalists." The Foreign Minister describes the action as irresponsible and "very, very serious." "It is obvious that people have been encouraged to contact the Foreign Ministry in a way that risks affecting other Swedish citizens who are actually in distress. Then I think people should think about what responsibility they themselves have in that." https://swedenherald.com/article/swedish-foreign-ministry-monitors-greta-thunbergs-situation-in-gaza When speaking before the Swedish Parliament, Malmer Stenergard said the Foreign Ministry and Swedish embassy in Tel Aviv are monitoring the situation. "Our assessment at present is that no one on board is in danger and that they therefore do not have any need for consular assistance at present." The Foreign Ministry said separately that should Thunberg request consular aid, she would be given it like any other Swedish citizen. Malmer Stenergard emphasized Thunberg and the other activists have a "clear personal responsibility." "The crew and passengers on Madleen are aware of the risks of this campaign, the Foreign Ministry has advised against traveling to Gaza for ten years and they have a clear personal responsibility if they disregard an advisory, which I have also been very clear about in many different contexts, she says in the parliamentary chamber." https://swedenherald.com/article/swedish-foreign-ministry-monitors-greta-thunbergs-situation-in-gaza
  5. There's a huge difference between Greta Thunberg and 95% of the population, in fact 99.99999% of the population. She's a public figure who won a big audience through her climate-change activism, She is now taking advantage of her status to loudly advocate for the Palestinian side in the Gaza conflict. She has accused Israel of committing war crimes and genocide, while remaining very quiet about the atrocities Hamas committed to start the conflict. She needs to watch the video of Hamas' atrocities to understand why Israel is waging the war it does in Gaza. The 95% of the population you mention don't need to watch it because they aren't public advocates for the Palestinian side. Many of the public supporters of Hamas, celebrity and otherwise, have downplayed or even denied Hamas committed atrocities. Watching the video would give them the proof they seem to have ignored or avoided. If you acknowledge that Hamas committed atrocities against innocent civilians on Oct. 7, then you don't need to watch video footage of these horrible crimes. But if you or anyone else doubt they happened or believe the Israeli government is exaggerating about them, then you do. And I regard people who serve as apologists for terrorists and antisemites to be far worse than ridiculous.
  6. Her refusal to watch the video of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks is absolute proof she is a pro-Hamas antisemite.
  7. Tossing cell phones into the sea doesn't seem a very environmentally conscious thing to do. I'm surprised Greta didn't object and urge them to recycle the phones. But I guess she also didn't want numerous calls to Hamas to show up on the phones.
  8. Looting has been a common feature of U.S. riots since the 1960s. The rioters protest social injustice by stealing big-screen TVs and designer handbags. The looting was particularly bad during the 2020 BLM riots.
  9. According to a press release by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, "The ship is carrying urgently needed supplies for the people of Gaza, including baby formula, flour, rice, diapers, women’s sanitary products, water desalination kits, medical supplies, crutches, and children’s prosthetics." https://freedomflotilla.org/2025/06/01/a-month-after-conscience-attack-freedom-flotilla-ship-madleen-sets-sail-for-gaza/ But the Madleen isn't a very large ship and couldn't hold much. According to the Sky News video, it contained less than a truckload of supplies. There's not much cargo space on a recreational yacht. The real goal of the "aid ship" was publicity, not the delivery of supplies. The mission attracted a lot of attention, but much of it was ridicule. If Greta Thunberg had any credibility, it's all gone now.
  10. Sky TV: Greta Thunberg’s Gaza expedition has ‘spectacularly failed’ Untitled video (1).mp4 I wonder if any of the other mainstream media will call it a success?
  11. Some more difficult ladies! I hope they never decide to fly!
  12. I've never before heard antisemitic remarks called "doozies." At least its a new use for an old word, a crackerjack, jimdandy description.
  13. Looks like Greta is happy to get a sandwich. https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/08/middleeast/freedom-flotilla-gaza-aid-ship-thunberg-intl-hnk
  14. You can read all about the full cast of characters in this article: These are the anti-Israel activists in the new Gaza flotilla Aboard the ship Madleen, pro-Palestinian activists are en route to the Gaza Strip, including climate activist Greta Thunberg, who has called to "dismantle Zionism," French-European Parliament member Rima Hassan, who described Hamas's October 7 massacre as "legitimate," and Irish actor Liam Cunningham of Game of Thrones fame. The flotilla seeks to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian supplies. On board are also a physician and Al Jazeera journalists. https://www.israelhayom.com/2025/06/03/these-are-the-anti-israel-activists-in-the-new-gaza-flotilla/
  15. Yup. Take at look at this announcement from Jan. 31, 2024: Gaza’s population is ‘starving to death’, WHO says The World Health Organization on Wednesday said the population of Gaza was "starving to death" due to the restrictions imposed on humanitarian aid in the besieged Palestinian enclave. https://www.france24.com/en/middle-east/20240131-🔴-live-fighting-rages-in-gaza-hamas-studying-new-truce-proposal And this one from Feb. 20, 2024: Gaza authorities say starvation is deepening for Palestinians Gaza’s Government Media Office has warned that more than 700,000 Palestinians in the north of the territory could perish from hunger as Israel restricts humanitarian aid to the area. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2024/2/20/israels-war-on-gaza-live-un-fears-explosion-in-child-deaths-in-gaza?update=2720814 Fifteen months later, how many Gazans have actually starved to death? But of course, they are still at risk: Entire Gaza population at critical risk of famine, UN-backed assessment says A UN-backed assessment has said that Gaza's population of around 2.1 million Palestinians is at "critical risk" of famine and faces "extreme levels of food insecurity" as an Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid continues. And despite the dire warning, it does indeed note (my bold text): The latest report by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) said there had been a "major deterioration" since October 2024, but concluded famine was not currently occurring. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz63jnx52l0o The overall population in 2025 of the Palestinian territories has increased from 2022, according to figures from the State of Palestine's Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. The population of the Gaza Strip has decreased, but that is mainly due to people fleeing to the West Bank or leaving the country. https://pcbs.gov.ps/statisticsIndicatorsTables.aspx?lang=en&table_id=676 Between 1948 and 2023, the population of the West Bank and Gaza Strip matched the increase of Israel's Jewish population. That's not a development usually associated with genocide. https://pcbs.gov.ps/statisticsIndicatorsTables.aspx?lang=en&table_id=676
  16. The full article on the Freedom Flotilla Web site (https://freedomflotilla.org/conditions-in-gaza/) runs to 720 words. Not once is the death of 1,200 Israelis and non-Israelis on Oct. 7 mentioned, nor does the word "hostage" appear or are the attacks by Hamas acknowledged. Life changed "dramatically and permanently" for tens of thousands of Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023, but those casualties of the conflict don't matter to Greta and her ilk. Ignoring or downplaying deaths of and injuries to Jews because of violent attacks, whether in the Holocaust or elsewhere, is a classic sign of antisemitism. I would really, really like to ask Greta and the other activists on the Madleen the following questions: Should Hamas immediately release the hostages it holds? Does Israel have the right to exist as a sovereign state and homeland to the world's Jews? Is Hamas a terrorist group?
  17. U.S, law allows the President to federalize (bring under federal control) the National Guard of a states without the request or even agreement of the state governor. The President can thereby order National Guard units into action or to "stand down," with their place taken by federal troops. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/guide-invocations-insurrection-act
  18. And now for some comic relief: And on a little (only a little) more serious note:
  19. I am NOT equating criticism of Israel with antisemitism. I don't believe that, nor have I ever written it in any post. In fact, I believe the opposite, as I wrote in an earlier post. It's the intent of the criticism that determines whether it is antisemitic. If the goal of the criticism is to persuade listeners or readers Israel has no right to exist as the homeland of the world's Jews, then it is antisemitic. If its purpose is only to register disagreement with the Israeli government's policies and actions or indicate disapproval of some aspects of Israeli society and the lifestyle of its people, then it isn't. There's one question you can always ask that instantly decides if the answerer is an antisemite: Does Israel have the right to exist as a sovereign state and homeland for the world's Jews? It's as simple as "yes" or "no." I'll turn to more authoritative voices than my own at this point. On its Web site, the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam poses the question, "Is criticism of Israel antisemitic?" and answers in part: "Criticism of the policies of Israeli governments is not necessarily antisemitic. For instance, anyone is free to reject or criticise the political decisions of Israeli governments concerning the Palestinian territories – this is not uncommon in Israel itself. However, denying the State of Israel’s right to exist does constitute antisemitism." It goes on to state that "advocating for the rights of Palestinians is not inherently antisemitic," (my bold text) but also notes, "A line is undeniably crossed when Israel’s right to exist contested or when Israel is likened to Nazi Germany." The answer includes more detail, so read about it here: https://www.annefrank.org/en/topics/antisemitism/all-criticism-israel-antisemitic/ And I'll also quote what is the most authoritative group in the world on the issue of antisemitism, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The IHRA working definition of antisemitism includes the following sentences: "Manifestations [of antisemitism] might include the targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity. However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic." The IHRA then gives some examples of what can amount to antisemitism: Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor. Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation. Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis. Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel. There are more examples; you can read them here: https://holocaustremembrance.com/resources/working-definition-antisemitism I do equate Greta Thunberg chanting "Crush Zionism" and "From the river to the sea" with calls for the destruction of Israel, which was founded as a Zionist state 77 years ago. How could Israel continue as a sovereign state and homeland to the world's Jews if you "crush Zionism" or if the State of Palestine runs "from the river to the sea?" I also pay attention to what Greta hasn't said. She's never acknowledged Israel's right to exist. As far as I know, she has never called for the release of the hostages held by Hamas or other Palestinian groups. She has said the goal of the voyage of the Madleen is to break Israel's blockade of Gaza. My respect for her would have risen enormously if she'd shed some tears for the hostages and said she'd ask Hamas to free them. She has sympathy for hungry Palestinians but apparently none for starving hostages. One of the purposes of the tightened blockade of Gaza is to put pressure on Hamas to release the remaining 23 hostages thought to be alive, the Israeli government has said.
  20. Criticism of Israel is NOT ALWAYS antisemitic. Millions of Jews inside and outside Israel criticize Israel's government and society on a daily basis. Those Jews certainly aren't antisemitic, nor are many of the tens of millions of non-Jews who criticize Israel. It's absurd to say anyone who criticizes Israel is automatically labeled as antisemitic. It's simply not true. That's the short answer. For those want a lengthier discussion, I'll oblige you in my next post.
  21. Stating that Greta Thunberg has called for the destruction is neither a lie nor an outlandish claim. Here's one more example for X. She is chanting "From the river to the sea," which is widely regarded as a code for the destruction of Israel. If Palestine is going to exist from the river to the sea, there's no room for Israel.
  22. Sorry, I did indeed forget to include the links, Greta Thunberg calls on world to 'crush Zionism' Video of controversial young climate activist shows her shouting anti-Israel chants in pro-Palestinian protest sparking outrage online https://www.ynetnews.com/culture/article/rk1t9weba These are the anti-Israel activists in the new Gaza flotilla Greta Thunberg Thunberg first gained global recognition for her climate activism and her campaign for greener energy and climate justice. In recent years, however, she has taken a vocal stance in favor of a boycott of Israel and has become a full-throated supporter of the Palestinians. During the Iron Swords War, she spoke at a pro-Palestinian rally and declared that the goal should be to "dismantle Zionism." https://www.israelhayom.com/2025/06/03/these-are-the-anti-israel-activists-in-the-new-gaza-flotilla/ She was named "Antisemite of the Week" by a Jewish watchdog organization. It stated (my bold): "Swedish-born climate activist Greta Thunberg rose to fame in 2018 for her school climate strikes, demanding stronger environmental policies. Since then, she has sadly transformed her activism into a platform for vile Jew-hatred. Since the brutal 10/7 massacre, Greta has joined the ranks of keffiyeh-clad protesters, brazenly voicing her disdain for the Jewish state. What began as a fight to protect the planet has devolved into a campaign of hatred against Jews." https://stopantisemitism.org/as-week/greta-thunberg/ Greta Thunberg sparks outrage after declaring 'f**k Israel and f**k Germany' at pro-Palestine protest The Swedish climate change activist has been described as 'moving very consciously in close proximity to antisemitism' https://www.gbnews.com/news/world/greta-thunberg-israel-germany-palestine-protest As Greta Thunberg Chants “Crush Zionism” After Anti-Jewish Pogroms, B’nai B’rith Calls Her Activism Discredited "One month after a social media post expressing solidarity with people in Gaza but not Israel following the most gruesome atrocities targeting Jews since the Holocaust, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has escalated inflammatory rhetoric on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Media reports have highlighted a video of her chanting “Krossa Sionismen,” or “Crush Zionism,” at a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Stockholm on Nov. 23. "Zionism means nothing more than support for Israel’s right to exist—and Thunberg’s chanting of a shocking slogan more identified with genocidal forces in the Middle East discredits her as a legitimate interlocutor in the international community. " https://www.bnaibrith.org/greta-thunberg-activism-discredited-after-shocking-anti-israel-chants/ SWC Denounces Greta Thunberg for Turning Amsterdam Event into Pro-Hamas Campaign The Simon Wiesenthal Center is denouncing Greta Thunberg who, during a climate change protest in Amsterdam, gave the microphone to Sara Rachdan, a Palestinian activist who has called for the destruction of Israel, and in a video falsely purports that Israel is gassing Palestinians. https://www.wiesenthal.com/about/news/swc-denounces-greta-thunberg.html
  23. I can think of the perfect cruise mate for Greta. She and Gilligan seem to occupy the same intellectual niche. Greta and Gilligan could be a great comedy series. It was a bit sad to see Greta swallowed by antisemitism. She doesn't just support Palestinians, she has called for the destruction of Israel.
