The old fella would have had better odds not being hospitalized, by hanging around an arrivals gate from Wuhan, and licking all the arrivals.

Thailand will now have 1.01% unemployment.

Even a decent Ir Thermometer (decent as in 0.001 accuracy) with a range of -50 to 1370 degC or -58 to 2498 DegF will have a 1.5 degC or 2.5 DegF margin of error. Methinks the 20baht store versions being used, may not inspire confidence, if screening a plane load of Whohan escapees, as "cleared".

As I have stated elsewhere, I keep hearing about the fake numbers in Thailand. Although I acknowledge it is possible, when you consider the staggering incompetence of the Thai army and administration, how would they be able to accomplish what far more oppressive governments like Iran and China were not able to accomplish? People are NOT scared of the army anymore. They are weak, and feeble. And they are despised. If a Thai person had a family member with Corona, in the hospital, who was seriously ill, would they not run onto social media and talk about it? Thailand is one of the most active countries on earth, when it comes to social media. I think we would have thousands of people blabbering on facebook, instagram, line, youtube, and others, about this. So, again, how would the hapless army be able to cover this up to the extent many suggest?
I am sure the numbers are higher than what we are seeing. But, how much higher?
...CV19 "test results" negative, lung infection diagnosis. Take 2 para's, come back in a month. A doctors diagnosis is never questioned...ever. And where would a local go for a second opinion? Where would you or I go, for a second opinion/test?

There are well documented reasons why infection rates in Thailand may be low. These include good public health measures, good responses from the public, and possibly a favorable climate. There could be a cover up, but I don't see why or how they would benefit from this seeing as tourism is already decimated. There may be more infections to come but I prefer not to speculate or "wonder" as others are doing.
Rooster
Hey Rooster,
With all due respect, all was quiet, infection numbers were conveniently stagnant and all was a go in LOS, until Qatar tipped their hand.
Since that date, and Europe started cancelling football games, Thailand has started cancelling major events. Why, there's only 50+ cases? Rescheduling the Thai MotoGp???? Cancelling Songkran in major centers across Thailand, with only 50+ CV-19 cases reported....cancelling Songkran?????? Blasphemous!!! China sending in the troops to help Thailand with 50+ cases of CV-19....what gives???
People returning from Thailand are arriving home with CV-19...how so? Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korean infection rates increasing as expected (calculated)...let alone the rest of the world (albeit different climates, I'll bite).
C'mon Rooster, the only thing more amusing, would be have the Thai CV-19 infection numbers announced daily by Thamanat Prompow (while quickly waving around a (conspicuously watermarked SECRET) stamped lab certificate).
Hospital staff have no PPE to protect themselves...good public health ?????
Anyways, watch the numbers soar now that the "releasing of the hounds" has been approved and there's no turning back.

7 hours waiting to disembark...lets see, a casual 3 GT's per hour, with a assorted crunchy snacks. Yeah, I'd definitely need a Fishemans Friend mint before hitting immigration

Malaysia is starting now. 32 degrees in Kuala Lumpur. I doubt the 0.1seconds it takes for spittle to fly from somebody sneezing to your respitory system much cares about a few degrees here or there.
Agreed, but when was the last time you noticed a street vendor wearing gloves, or washing their hands.
I don't think warm weather will alter or prevent the infected coins/bills/hands. This isn't a bashing, but we all know the common routine of wiping/picking mouth, nose and face here.
"People watch" customers and vendors for 5 minutes near street food vendors or a mall food court. You'll laugh, then want to cry.

I'm trying to help out my Thai nephew, in his search for a 4th year industrial engineering placement/internship with a reputable company. Basically an unpaid position, for an eager young fella with his own transportation. He's willing to temporarily relocate within Bangkok to be close to work/office (currently in Min Buri). Any leads or contacts, please PM, and I'll pass it along.

Well, by the looks of the "victim", he was shooting for "low hanging fruit", for his hanging fruit show, but ended up with a mushy windfall

The take away from this: make sure you feed the soi dogs, and MAKE SURE the locals are winning. (baht at the funerals, baht at the weddings, baht at the temples, baht to extended family, baht to local labourers, daily snacks and baht for early morning saffron clad illuminati.
His fatal faux pas of mourning in personal quiet peace, cost him dearly. RIP and enjoy what's left of retirement back in Japan.
Thailand accepts your generous donations of everything not packed in your suitcase.

747,000 bhat per meter. Juicy... Imagine the final cost, paid per meter to resurface a single lane road.

"Dr Kajohnsak today (Mar 4) instead would only say that the information in the report was unreliable. He would not elaborate on which parts of the report were considered accurate".
"As for the leaked “pink” report for Feb 12, the “unreliable” report includes all the exact same information as featured in the final “blue” report for Feb 12 – except that the “blue” report features no information at all about any of the patients in Thailand who have tested positive for the virus".
<<Big sigh>> ....thanks for the timely update Dr.

What is the factual CV-19 scenario here in LOS? Local threads/stories with various pieces of Thai government (Ministry of health) data, report a stagnant/stopped infection rate here in Thailand. Setting the rhetoric and conspiracy theories aside, what are the FACTS with regard to the CV-19 situation?
Is the virus as contagious as presented by WHO and international infectious disease professionals? If so, why is there no increase in infection cases reported here?
I'm not hoping for more reported cases, but I certainly would like to know the risk of being infected, or becoming a carrier during travel through BKK or DMC.
My gut feeling is: we are being treated like coronavirus cannon fodder...all for the sake of a faltering LOS

Interesting play. The new "virus law" will allow them to load up the hospital wards, with paying (short timer) farang/foreigners, exhibiting sniffles and a 0.5 deg life threatening temps. No worries, mandatory Thai health/travel insurance should cover the hospital bill....

A couple of years ago, I was back and forth from BKK (actually KKC-BKK) to LHR. The company was taking care of flights and always booked Thai. It would not have been my choice. I was always shocked how they were molested with Th Airways ticket prices...

I call this open corruption ...
This is the way the game is played. Call it open corruption if you will, money talks in the east and/or the west.
You're told by a lawyer: this can be fixed quickly for $50k, or fight the good fight, and let the wheels of justice take their tardy course, with a $4-5000 retainer (to start). Risk analysis: $x assets at stake, $x support for x years, $x for opposing lawyer fees, your assets/cash potentially tied up/froze until settlement/agreement registered.

Official called a liar for claiming no shortage of masks

Just finished supper, and asked my wife if the hospital received any masks yet (there has be a shortage/none). She said "No, cannot buy anywhere and still waiting for any mask that will arrive from orders. Nothing available in town."
