The difference between a safe area and outside is just a few metres.
Not everyone has your humanity outlook Mr N.

End of story...
The 'pandemic' never shut anything down. Compromised authorities did that.
''Unprecedented deaths.'' ???

Owl Log - 26th May 2024 - Sunday afternoon
Had to take the Sis in Law (noi) to Ban Dung on Friday. Only there for a short time, while she paid the interest of her daughter's debt to a business on the main drag. Know all about that place. While I was sitting there waiting I noticed that the 'beast' was back. Unloved and not cared for. Had to go over and take a butchers. See if it had a respray and revamp.
No respray as far as I could see.
Last motted 4 years ago.
Across the road back, there was another vehicle I was familiar with. Now which one would I rather have?
Mildred takes the new Mazzararti to the farm.
Don't break that mirror dear.
Shot round the back road on the way home. Still no idea whats it gonna be used for.
The land next door has been completely cleared. A future car park?
At the palm farm, I tipped 5 bags of cow poo poo, into the channels.
The idea is to let the water take the nutrients down to the trees.
I'll be buying regular cow poo poo. No chemical fertilizer at all from now on.
The other two solar systems will have to wait until October now, as the rain has set in. Been quite heavy in the last 7 days.
Ponds are doing OK. I'm sure that without the water replenishment from the solar system we would have lost 3 ponds for sure this year; maybe 4. Pond 5 looks particularly healthy.
Mrs Owl says these fruits grow quite big. Can't say I recognise the fruit. Plenty on the tree which is somewhat hidden at the back of number 7.
When the water in the ponds fill right up. Mildred reckons to put the pinkies in number 6 pond. At the mo they are doing OK in the tub.
Someone has been after the shrimps.
Me mucker Kun has been helping at the farm, keeping an eye on things, while I'm not there. I'm gonna get another panel for him. When the water table is lowered, his pump can't pump. So I think another panel will help get the water up. Though not so important now, if the wet weather continues.
I'll try to get precisely the same panel. If not, I'll keep an eye on the dimensions and get a 450 watt.
The avoes have kicked the bucket. Well!! Two out of the three. The other tree is showing a little life. But I don't hold up much hope.
The second round of crickets at the Big Mango lady's house. What an earner they must be.
A new project in Mildred's class.
+++++
Perhaps the biggest match of the season tonight at 9pm. Peacocks v Saints. Who will join Tractors and Foxes next year in the EPL. I'd like to watch it. Don't know how unless I get a VPN.
+++++
Not heard about me motor bike. Last I heard was that it had to have a new petrol tank. I expect a bill of 5k or so. Can't see myself going to the farm on the leccy.
+++++
It's been raining. Very hard on a couple of occasions. Great to have it.
+++++
Mildred has lost her purse with her ID inside. Monday (tomorrow) she will have to go to the police, and then next door, to the government place. I'll go to Ban Dung to pick her up tomorrow.
++++++
There was big news last week with the Thai minister meeting with the oil-palm farmers. The price is gradually dropping. Price right now 4-55 baht a kilo. If it drops to below 3 baht a kilo, it becomes uneconomical for many farmers to even cut.
+++++
Looking forward to the Olympics. Only really interested in the swimming though. Especially in the 100, 200 and 400 Free and 100 Breast.
+++++
Had a Lazada delivery of both ginger-beer and vanilla cordial. The way I make it is with some honey, a cap of cordial, and a cold soda water. Very refreshing.
+++++
Leccy bill was the highest for 12 months. 2047 baht. So not too bad considering we have had fans on 24/7. The M in L's went down to 257 baht. Can expect that to go even lower as she has moved in with Noi.
+++++
Lady came round for some dosh this morning. 3k baht gone. But we will get back 12 sacks of rice when the times come. Been doing this for a number of years.
+++++
The UK General Election has been called. 4th July. Special day in the US, that date. Might see some shocks on the day.
+++++
Only one thing left to say; bye ya'll.

Does this count as a leccy vehicle?
The family's new run-a-bout.
2 hours to full charge; from zero
0 to 35kmph in 4 seconds
70km range
400 kg pay load.
The nuts.

In my experience, the best way to navigate the solar maze is to get recommendations from people you trust, friends, neighbors, or even local businesses that have already made the switch. They can give you the straight scoop on their experience with different solar companies, both good and bad. Once you have a few names, do your homework! Check online reviews, compare warranties, and be sure to get everything in writing before you sign on the dotted line.
I've installed two systems at the farm. One 1100 watt, t'other 1650 watt.

How things have turned around? The jab proponents are very quite now.

For US 30 $ ? Maybe ten times that amount for a used one. But, I don’t know the market in LOS.
my thought previously was that maybe the sim card was inadvertently put in the slot tray for a micro sd card instead of the sim card tray.
Thanks for the heads up on the Apple.
Might be worth a trip to Laos for the phone. Can get a Rolex there for 500 baht. Must be able to get an Apple for about the same. And for those smarty-pants out there. I'm talking a mobile smart phone, not one of those round things some people eat.
I'll get a phone guy in Ban Dung to check out the SIM and slot.

Thank you, but if you read the posts that I was replying to, you will understand how painful it has been to try to help that poster understand.
I understand George. Have to educate these amateur, and misguided, posters.

The tray for a sim card and a micro sd memory card look very similar.
Also, some use the same tray with two places in it.
Way above my understanding. I might buy an Apple next. They never have problems. But could I get one for under a grand baht?

Pogba, Lingard, Martial and now Rashford, all with the same poor attitude, poor work ethic and ultimately not making the most of the ability they all had. As a fan it's sad to see them not fulfil their potential. I hope Rashford finds another team and does well for them, but he will, or should always regret, not playing well enough to make him the main man at United.
Indeed.
Overpaid and poor work ethic.

Yeah, not accepting a sim is strange for a phone, most baked bean cans nowadays accept sim...😎

I'm surprised you got a cellphone for 700 baht...
I'd expect something more like this for that money:
And regarding the heat, I agree. My smart watch didn't like the 40+ temp either. Kept on shutting down to 'save internal workings'.
Sometimes you have to pay a bit more to get decent quality. But I think this heat would even kill off them!
I tend to stick with known brands for electronics. Other stuff not so much. So far so good.
Strange your phone won't accept a sim. Have you checked with any sim provider to find out why? I know there are a few differing sizes but unsure about formats/upgrades etc that can cause this to happen.
I remember some earlier digital cameras couldn't accept later model memory cards... software problems and different technology.
Hopefully someone can sort your sim problem.
The SIM was the one being used in the last phone. I'm not too much bothered for the calls as I've got me trusted Nokia for that. It's not great with taking pics though.
Don't make em like they used to.

I've never tried it myself either but I've read in a few places that it can work wonders for drying phones out that is.
The problems with the last phone started at the beginning if the hot spell. I would whip out the phone, only to be told it was too hot to take a pic. Started putting it in the freezer for just a few minutes before going out. Worked a treat. But I left it there overnight. You can guess the rest.
My new mobile looks the biz, but it's not very good. Will not accept a SIM, and the pics are crap. Waste of 700 baht.

Congeatulations, of sorts… 🤣
You’re officially a Facebook celebrity 🤔
Wow!!!!!
Looks like I'm gonna be famous again. And there was me trying to keep me head down.
I met a lady on a train a few years back. She was looking intently at me. I smiled.
''Are you Owl the painter?''
''Why yes madam. Back in the day.''
''You painted my kitchen way back in 1980. 69 Acacia Avenue.''
''I don't recall it. Did I do a good job?''
''Never mind about that. When you coming round to see your son?''
As I say. Trying to keep me head down.

Did you try sticking the old phone in a bag of rice Owl and see if you can save it?
I didn't Owl. The phone seemed OK when it thawed out, but the battery wouldn't charge more than 16%. Then went to zero withing seconds.
Took it to the phone shop and the expert said that it wasn't a proper battery and advised me to get a new phone. I've still got the old phone. It was better for pics than this new one. I'll get a couple of pics together tomorrow. Perhaps someone has an idea.
