There is a limit of two per year. Even then, if you enter too many times a few years, it might not be granted.
It's good for two years, and you can renew it as long as you qualify.

That is not true. You have repeatedly called an extension a retirement visa and have repeatedly defended the use of that description.
I have said on a number of occasions that in the past ubonjoe was correcting people for calling it a visa not an extension. You claimed no knowledge of this and uj himself never spoke to clarify things.
Can we please call it a tally-whacker!!!

OK if you are married..................... I don't want to get married just to get multi-entry non-imm 'O'.
So get a non-OA, you don't have to bring any money to Thailand

Wherever there is a system that has loopholes, those loopholes will be exploited.
"Those people operating illegally" - are you talking about foreign applicants, Thai agents or Thai IO's?
Lying and falsifying documentation is not taking advantage of a loophole, it's cheating at best, and more likely criminal.
A loophole is a legal workaround.

No. I am male and have grown children here who are Thai citizens. Immigration does not consider that in the visa equation for me. I am divorced from my Thai wife so no help there. Having adult children (over 20) who are Thai citizens is no help at all with immigration. As I stated much earlier in this thread against my better judgement I am just going to top up one of my accounts here to 800k and leave it there. Not happy at all about having to do that.
I don't believe this is true, at least for US citizens. Non-O to visit family works and the family member can be a child, as long as the child is a Thai citizen. No age limit on the application.

Why worry? BJ will change it again next week. Maybe more convoluted. I really do not like maintaining 800k in a frozen account with no insurance and no interest. Hope my wife can access it after I die.
The accounts aren't frozen, and they draw interest.
Assuming your marriage is registered, why would your wife not be able to access it?

You would think if a country wants you to stay they would have a way for all levels of income and rules that are less confusing. But...
You would think a county would not want people staying that are so easily confused.
If they wanted people with all income levels, they would not have an income or savings requirement. They do not want poor people coming here to live, they already have all the unemployed poor people they need.

its not just availability. having one rule streamlines the visa process at immigration.
So they should have one rule, say 800K in a fixed account that could not be touched to streamline the system. It would make it much less confusing.

Check this list. All US banks.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bank_failures_in_the_United_States_(2008–present)
They number in the hundreds.
All banks that were acquired by other banks.
No one that had an FDIC insured account at any of the banks listed lost money.

I don't know about other nationalities but US citizens can now get a passport card along with a normal passport when renewing or replacing a passport. The card is credit card size and has all the details of the pp front page except, for some reason, the passport number is not the same. It is an official document. It's not valid for international travel except between US and Canada/Mexico. It costs an additional $25 but I figured it was worth it and now keep that with me when I venture out.
I have yet to have opportunity to test it with the BiB.
I have the passport card, it's nice.
I had a few "Autopia" driver licenses I got at Disneyland, I laminated them with a photo and give them to the BIB when I need to.

Exactly. Lazada has no way of knowing who is selling fakes without feedback.
While I generally do not care about the cost as long as I don't eat it, there is the ongoing issue of:
1. Refunds raise the cost for everyone
2. Unscrupulous sellers get away with, and profit from selling fakes
3. People thinking they are buying genuine articles receive fakes, which are generally poor quality, hurting the reputation of the real product.

I agree. If the item is wrong and you get a refund then is ok? N0T !
We are not to know who bears the cost of refunds.
I am convinced that as a sales platform Lazada is basically legitimate.
But wen it comes to disputes they employ a system of non complicency and attempt at times conciliation negotiation via seller and customer in protection of commission already derived.Have noticed that undeniable and legitimate complaints via Lazada actually do result in the removal of the questionable supplier.
Which suggests it is worth the effort to object to bs
Well it not like customers don't lie as well. Selling in the US via ebay and whatnot and using PayPay sellers get ripped off constantly.

Presumably you mean 'haven't actually tried'?
I assume many posters are retired. There is no route for PR or citizenship if you are retired.
For those who are working in Thailand, you need a work permit of course. In all my years of living in Phuket I never managed to get a WP because the Labour Office either demanded an under-the-table payment to issue the WP, or refused to issue a WP for a legal entity other than a Thai ltd company.
Never had any trouble getting a work permit, never had to pay anyone off to get it.

I would bet a week's pay that 90% of the people going on about how difficult it is to get permanent residence or citizenship have actually tried.
Can't really blame them though. If they don't have the wherewithal to get a visa, they're not likely to get PR or citizenship regardless of how easy or difficult it is.

Looks like the same backpack that is on Amazon for $29 so probably legit.
Not likely they will offer a lifetime warranty in Thailand though...

Thank you very much for the specific recommendation. I am assuming of course that you've used them yourself. What I want to send will not be enough for a whole container. I'll ring them up for an initial chat.
I've used them to move our offices, but not for moving my residence.

Crown Relocation Services is great, and their prices are fair.
Depending on how much stuff you have, booking a container and packing yourself may be the cheapest.

When you don't know what you are talking about, then just don't talk!
This from a guy that believes the climate has changed such that Thailand's average temperature has risen 10 degrees. How funny is that?
Why not provide some actual data, rather than pointing to your old winter coat as some kind of proof.

That is probably because you haven't been living in Isaan...
All the villagers in Isaan own a duffel coat/parka, and a wool cap, which they don't use anymore... yet they bought them for good reason...
Yes, and all the girls at the plant wear winter coats and leg warmers when it gets down to 25.
If I road a motorcycle I would likely wear a jacket.

Indeed!
The abnormaly cold weather on the US East Coast has been caused by a displacement of cold air from the North Pole, which in turn is too warm.
Last year, there were days during winter when temperatures at the North Pole were above freezing despite the fact that it was 24 hour night time!
In Thailand, it is not one warm winter, but a long series of them.
I have in my home the duvets and clothes to prove it, which I didn't buy for pleasure, but out of necessity, yet which I have not used for many years.
During the previous decade, every year we had weeks with temperatures falling below 15 C at night.
We were sleeping with socks, pants, sweatshirt and a heavy duvet.
In the early morning, the villagers used to set a camp fire to warm themselves up, and I didn't want to get out of bed because I was feeling too cold.
This hasn't happened for years now, but I still have the clothes to remind me what used to be...
I have been here 18 years and I do not remember it ever getting down to 15, and I have NEVER worn a sweatshirt here.
I've always slept with only a sheet and the air conditioner on all year.

That is because you were not there 20 years ago, when there was a cool season... a range between 25 to 35 degrees in early February is nothing cool.
We used to be 10 degrees below that...
While it seemed like an overly wet, warm winter this year, I don't remember much cool weather.
So when we get a warm winter in Thailand it's Global Warming, but when we get a cold winter in the US it's just weather, yes?

Last night my dog ate most of the scrabble squares from my scrabble game. This morning, I couldn't help notice my dogs poop made more sense than Immigrations yearly visa requirements for foreigners.
I'm fairly certain this is one of many reasons, Thai Immigration visa requirements will push out more foreigners from Thailand than the climate will. ????
Feed your dog dude, and quit picking though it's crap...

Foreigners now need to keep 800k in Thai bank for three months AFTER retirement extension is granted
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
