  1. Stay on topic: I said, hundreds die every die!
And I delivered on sources and facts!
Mind you: I will be out on Silom with the family (Farang & Thais) exactly for one day, my water- gun holds 1 liter and is not hi- pressure and -yes- I will party!
For the rest of the festival, I will stay home (unless absolutely) necessary, hang out by the pool and read!
    Happy New Year!

But your stats say 80 not hundreds
  2. I hope, I am allowed to post this link, but...anyways...

    https://asiancorrespondent.com/2015/03/thailand-road-deaths/#tvoeeHCgsC5lmlrI.97

Took me 1 google request = 5 seconds!

An average of 80 people die every day on Thailand's roads!

    That'll be 240 in 3 days...on average!

    You are right: not 500!

Makes you feel all cozy and warm inside, doesn't it?!

just get your facts straight. And yes hundred of lives saved makes me fuzzy.

In fact one extra life saved is worth it but don't let that worry you rambo, go get that gun and parrtttyy!

  3. Lots of pick up apologist on TV.. Let them be.. They are poor.. It's not fair.

The center of gravity would be quite high so the slightest aggressive maneuver would roll it.

Had a small taste of it in the baht bus jomtien doing about 30k to a full stop as a little kid ran across the road.

Every one was on the floor and on top of each other. One thai girl did her leg in and had to be carried off the bus. And that was low speed!!

  4. Can someone tell these people that folks do not die at stupid checkpoints
They die after the checkpoints going at crazy speeds with road rage after the 20 minute delay.
Get your patrols out on the road of moving traffic moving with them

What are you complaining about, it's a bit hard to breathalyz whith cars traveling at 140 kph
  5. Oh-my-sweet-baby-Jesus....not another one!
It get's so boring and tiresome!
Do you also complain about "Rudolph the red nosed raindeer" blaring out of every given loudspeaker during Christmast?
Are you also sick and tired, of people, wishing you a "Happy New Year" on Dec 31st or Jan 1st?
    Get over yourselves, puuuuuleaze!

Hundreds of people do not die from those events.. But who cares about that.. It's all about me me me!
  6. Not another cry-baby Songkran rant. It seems so simple; if it hurts, don't do that.  Go out of country for Songkran. Stay at home for Songkran. If you have to go out; drive your car, or wear a raincoat and goggles.

Are you serous? Not everyone wants to blow 15k to fly out of the country and book hotels, taxis, the wasted half days at the airport all because of water wars.

Shame the good general doesn't reign in this deadly festival to one day.. Many lives would be saved including children

I am prepared to accept 1 day and get wet even.

Increase the fine to 1,000 baht and the helmet problem could be resolved. Also, by registering a motorbike the owner should confirm and prove a helmet has been purchased. Thirdly, do not allow more than 2 people on a bike - especially babies for <deleted>sake..!

Why? The reason the bib don't chase them is because they will never ever pay. Just a lot of paper work for zero result.

In oz about 30 years ago you had the option to pay or go to jail for 3 days which was stupid because the tax payer paid for the food and board.

The only way is to deregister the bike but since so many were not registered in the first place it would Have a limited effect and to confiscate the bikes would be a logistic nightmare when you are looking at millions of them

Just let Darwin take out the gene pool, best solution.

  8. Very few projects have sold out in Pattaya when you consider the number of units that goes back to the developer when the buyer can't come up with the final payment. Over the years 2016 and 2017 almost 40.000 units will be transferred to the buyers a lot of these units were sold to Russians who's economy and currency has not had the best of days. Many units were bought for resale, this will be difficult, until the developers have unloaded their units close to pre-launch prices. A lot of the buyers,of investment units, planned on selling before the final payments were due. Now they dump the price or default on the payments.
Another sector is the rental guarantee, what will happen when the government begins to crack down on short term rental? Almost none of the projects have a hotel license! The increased number of private units that are coming on the market this year will have a huge impact on the rental market, there has already been a drop in rental prices and it will continue. It will be very difficult if not impossible to honor the rental guarantee, maybe that is why in many cases the rental guarantee is in a separate company name.
The real estate market in Pattaya has not yet hit the rock bottom but it won't be long, I know people have been saying this for many years so what is different now? The number of completed units available this year and next year.
The bright side, over the next couple of years there will be many great deals to be had for the cash strong.

OMG how nieve can you be? The rental returns are "guaranteed" because they are factored into the price lol

Short term rental are considered less than thirty days and have always been illegal. Even if you your condo stayed empty it wouldn't matter because you already paid the rental in the purchase price

Think of it like buying a car at zero finance for first 12 months, who you think pays for that? The dealer, the bank.. Or... YOU!
