Wait a bit more, you will be happy soon.

Yeah I doubt it I don't live in Bangkok or Pattaya.  Where I live the cops don't bother anyone.  My next door neighbor from the UK he's been here 20 years without any issues.  It's all about location down there in the hot spots like Pattaya that are overcrowded with foreigners of course the police are going to be checking more often.

AIS and TRUE are both garbage.

    Try Sinet and 3BBB.

I have Sinet 30/10. Very good, they notice problems and fix them.

I never had to call about a problem.

They do very early morning maintenance two times a month.

You call AIS and TRUE, it takes 2 or 3 people on the phone, and 1 hour, then a man comes to your house to fix the problem., very inefficient system.

I have heard good of 3BBB

Oh no True is definitely garbage AIS is the best thing that's ever happened to me as far as cable, phone, and internet.

i asked them what station they are from and they said phaya thai but would not take me there.

they play the "inconvenience you" game .    finally one asked for money to buy "cola" as in coca cola.

I've lived here for 3 years and have never even spoken to a cop unless I initiate a conversation.

  4. That's going to happen no matter what internet service provider you use here but it's a really simple fix.  Just download a VPN and if you can't access a website just log into your VPN and you'll be able to access whatever website you want anywhere in the world.  I have AIS and I also use VPN for those sites that I can't seem to access from Thailand and I have no problem I can access whatever website I want anywhere in the world and if it doesn't come up I just fire up my VPN and then I can access the website it's actually really easy and not really any inconvenience at all.  I've never had any problems accessing any websites with my AIS and like I said if I do I just use my VPN service and it's no problem.  AIS is a hell of a lot better than True and I hope True goes out of business after the crap they tried to pull last year.  Although with AIS I actually get twice as many American Television Channels than I ever did with True.  After I went to AIS I learned that True had been over charging me for a long time because the AIS service is also cheaper and they provide a better service than True ever did for almost half the cost of what I was paying True.  I never thought anything of it because as an American everything in Thailand is cheaper than what I'm used to even True.

As has already been indicated, it was immigration that would have ordered the deportation of the OP under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522.  In the OP’s case, I suspect that Section 12(6), or possibly Section 16, would have been invoked and this would then have allowed his deportation under the provisions of Section 22.

Regarding the ban from entering the country for 5 years, I suspect that would be covered by a Ministerial Order (I'm not able to lay my hands on it at the moment).  No doubt there is a ‘tariff’ relating to various types of offences for which deportation is applicable.  When you think about it, there would be no point in deporting someone for them to be able to return on the next available flight.

Regarding appealing against the ban, I personally would not be over optimistic, particularly as the OP is now out of the country.  Again under the Immigration Act Section 22, a person who is subject to a deportation notice must give notice of appeal within 48 hours of receiving that deportation notice.  If this was not done, then he has effectively forgone his right to an appeal and it is unlikely that the Minister of the Interior will consider such an appeal.

As a number of posters have indicated, I believe that his best option is to contact a decent lawyer who specialises in immigration law.  The trouble being that it is going to be very expensive with only a slim chance of success.

OP…. I feel for you in your predicament and I wish you the very best in trying to sort thing out.

What does he mean by "fake nominee"?

You can apply for a re-entry permit on the same day you apply for your extension or at any time after that at immigration or at an airport.

TM8 re-entry permit application form copies of your passport photo page, visa. entry stamp, extension stamp and TM6 departure card. A re-entry permit can be a single for 1000 baht or 3800 baht for  multiple re-entry permit.

You have to apply for the re-entry permit before leaving since it is not possible to get one on arrival in the country.

    Thanks

Thailand is borrowing Chinese government money so that they can pay Chinese businesses that are backed by the Chinese government. The same thing is going on in other countries involved in the Chinese Silk Road boondoggle. If a few of those countries default, the Chinese economy will disappear into a black hole.

I'd prefer to see them use Japan's model.

Of course, as was announced a couple of days ago, the start of the BKK-Korat line will be delayed ten months due to survey requirements....... hi speed train low speed project?

That'll be awesome when they build the train from Korat to Bangkok!  When they finish that project we will be traveling a lot more.  I just wish they'd go with Japan's Subway system and not China's.  Japan has the best Subway system I've ever seen in the world besides New York City's train system.

  9. They need to sign the contract with Tokyo, Japan makes the best Subway Train system in the world at least from what I've seen anyway.  Even New York City's Subway is modeled after Japan's.  The Washington, D.C. Metro is pretty good to but it doesn't cover enough ground outside of D.C. such as in the Northern Virginia and Maryland areas.  Japan has an awesome Subway system.  They're probably going with China because China is probably doing it cheaper but you get what you pay for I just hope that Thailand doesn't learn that the hard way.  I'd really hate to see an accident happen.  I really wish they'd sign the contract with Japan instead.  They have a good Subway system in Seoul, Korea to but I think Korea's Subway system is probably modeled after Japan's as well.  They both are very similar.

As said a re-entry permit will only be valid for the remaining days left on you 90 day entry.

All you need to get the re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi airport is your passport and 1200 baht. Wise to have one photo with you in case they have problems doing the photo.

The desk is now located after security in immigration zone 2.

Still a little over half a page.

How does it work to get a reentry permit if you're on an extension of stay?  Do you get it at immigration?  Do you have to get it from the airport?  What documentation is required to get a reentry permit?  We were thinking about visiting where we used to live in Tokyo one of these days or go to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.  Or go visit home one of these days.  Of course I'd most definitely like to return to Thailand on the same extension of stay still valid.  What's the process of that?  Is it the same as you explained to the OP?

    Thanks Jim7777.

Have tried both malls but as you say they serve "western - style - food" emphasis on "style".

I am looking for something different.

Would also prefer vegan / vegetarian.   There is a small place near the central square I think, about 35 baht per portion and good taste too.

The Mall I like because of it's 50mtr competition swimming pool.

You can also try the little country restaurants to they're pretty good.

  12. AIS IS AWESOME!!!  I'm so glad I dumped True and switched to AIS.  I get all the HBO channels and almost all of the American TV channels FX, Fox News, CNN, and on and on.  AIS actually has twice as many American TV channels than True EVER DID, even when they did have a contract with HBO which they lost back in January because True got greedy.  I'm actually glad that happened because AIS has SO MUCH BETTER SERVICE!  AND it's cheaper than True, for everything.  I switched everything from True to AIS, our iPhone service, our internet, and cable service EVERYTHING and that turned out to be a GREAT MOVE!  I get twice the service for half the price that True was charging us.  TRUE IS A SCAM COMPANY!  They should change their company's name from True to Lie.

The first thing I did was switch the cable and internet service to AIS after True lost their contract with HBO and man that was a great decision I'm more than happy with the service that AIS provides.  AIS has SO MANY MORE channels than True ever did.  I couldn't even get cable service this good when we lived in Tokyo!  Before I retired I was assigned to Japan for a while.

My wife and I both have an iPhone 6.  So then I switched our phone service from True to AIS which was surprisingly easy.  Our iPhones that we bought here in Thailand are not locked.  All I had to do was just set up our account with AIS and just simply switch out the SIM cards and then we had AIS phone service as simple as that.  The AIS internet speed is the best I've ever had anywhere in the world!

When I closed my True Visions and True internet and phone service boy did they try to price gouge me but I wasn't having it.  I know most people probably just shut up and pay it but I refused to I fought them tooth and nail for months emailing their headquarters and arguing with people.  I had True employees telling me that it was illegal not to pay it and I still would not budge.  Eventually I won the fight with True and they came to a compromise with me.  My wife's family helped me out with it they supposedly filed some complaint with the police accusing True of trying to rip me off and in the end when I finally closed all of my True Accounts the cost to close my accounts clean got cut in half of what they were trying to charge me.

Personally I think I still got screwed by True but at least I made them cut the cost of closing my accounts.  I don't think I should have had to pay a dime to close my True Visions account because it's not my fault that they lost their contract with HBO.  That actually brings me to another point AIS has a policy where if there's a problem that AIS can't fix you can close the account with no charge now that's the kind of honesty that "True" doesn't have.  When I signed up for True Visions I signed up for the package with HBO and Cinemax so when they lost that service they basically took the service that I was paying for and then they thought they were going to get away with billing me the same amount after taking away the service that I HAD SIGNED UP FOR.  I said "LIKE HELL YOU ARE"!  And I actually won the battle against True.  Don't let True screw you keep fighting and emailing their corporate office and at least make them work for it.

Regardless I'm glad that happened with True because AIS is SO MUCH BETTER THAN TRUE!  They have twice as many channels a lot more American television than True ever did and the service very rarely goes out.  My DirecTV in the states used to go out more than AIS does.  The internet speed is awesome and so is the phone service.  And my bill is pretty reasonable a lot cheaper than True was for sure.  Even my wife's family decided to switch their internet service to AIS after they saw the internet speed that I have.

When I was working in Japan I couldn't even get cable service like this.  When we retired here in Thailand I never expected to be watching American television channels.  The AIS cable service is almost as good as my DirecTV service was in the states and that's saying a lot because DirecTV was pretty good.  Although here in Thailand I also pay less than a fraction of what I paid for phone service, internet, and cable service compared to what I paid for all 3 services in the United States and especially Japan.  I had SoftBank iPhone service in Tokyo and they price gouged the hell out of me there.  And don't get me started on AT&T phone service in the states their service wasn't as expensive as Japan but it was horrible.  AIS phone service, cable service, and internet service is the best and cheapest I've ever had anywhere in the world!  Then again everything here in Thailand is cheaper.  We live like royalty here on my pension.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS DUMP TRUE!!!  TRUE SUCKS!!!  SWITCH TO AIS!!!!!!!  Trust me you will be very glad you did especially if you want American Television!  Even if you don't care about American television their overall service is much better and cheaper.  AIS internet speed is much faster their phone service is great and it's all cheaper.  And of course if you want American television channels AIS has almost all of them including UK Television channels and a few Japanese channels as well.  Switching to AIS was a great decision, True is worthless and I hope True gets bought out by AIS or put out of business.  I remember when we first visited here when I was assigned to Tokyo, True was like the number one company back then MOST DEFINITELY NOT ANYMORE!

I think what happened with True was they got greedy and wanted more money from HBO and HBO said fine bye bye, and AIS was there to take the contract for a lot less money and they offer a much better service for half the price that True was charging us.

Like I said if you're reading this I highly recommend dumping True and switching to AIS.  I know this seems like free advertisement for AIS but they deserve it.  AIS has been really good to us.  With AIS I don't even have to download my favorite TV shows off the internet I can watch them on AIS as if I were in the states.

In fact speaking of that does anyone know when Homeland Season 7 premieres?  Homeland is really the only TV show that I actually keep up with and watch religiously, it's fiction but it's somewhat realistic from my own personal experience in my former career.  A lot of the stuff that they depict in the TV show actually does go on in real life in the Intelligence Community.  Although the end of Season 6 was really far fetched and turned into a big conspiracy theory, unfortunately though in this day and age I could see something at least close to that actually happening in the United States today.  The show is pretty far fetched but a lot of the little things they depict in it as far as how they operate is pretty close to real life.

So anyway does anyone know when Homeland Season 7 premieres?  I don't think that show will last more than a few more seasons.  That show sure does know how to leave off with a major cliffhanger, I've never been addicted to a TV show before but I need to see how it turns out.  Personally I was surprised to see a season 4, I figured the show would end after season 3 when the original main character was hung by a crain in Iran.  Can't wait to see Season 7!  I'm trying to find out when it premieres.

    A nuclear device might help.

Try borax powder with a bit of sugar mixed thru'- it constipates them -  end result -  dead.

Borax powder is that like a white powdery substance that's sold in a plastic bag?  I think that's what I used and it worked.  It was like rat poison or something.  One night I killed like 5 of the little bastards in my house and after that I said that's it I'm doing something about it.  So I bought a bunch of insecticide and some kind of big bag of white powder.  I went out behind the house and actually found where they were nesting. They were nesting in the septic tank.  So I lifted the cover off and I poured the whole bag in there and I sprayed the hell out of the whole area.  When I did that hundreds of the little bastards started running out and I just kept spraying them all.  That was over a year ago and I haven't seen anymore roaches in my house ever since.

The trick is to find out where they are nesting and dump poison in their nest that worked for me.  Typically they'll be nesting somewhere outside around the house.  It's like the war on terror lol you have to go find them and kill them on their own ground.  You'll never get them all but at least you can keep them out of your house and minimize them.  Ever since I did that I have actually killed a few of them in my house but we're not infested anymore.  I also have 2 cats and they always notice anything that's not supposed to be in the house and they will kill them.  I can always tell if there's a lizard or a bug in the house because our cats start hunting them very aggressively.  I also keep those roach traps as well in the kitchen.  If you get infested with roaches they'll just keep multiplying and it just gets worse so you have to go after them very aggressively find where they nest and dump what white powder stuff on them.  I don't remember what that stuff was called I think you're talking about the same stuff I used I actually thought it was rat poison.  I didn't have to spray any insecticide in the house I just found their nest and wiped them all out.  I got rid of them before they got totally out of hand.  If you wait to long you'll never get rid of them.
