  1. That Insomnia got hit was expected.

We were a large group of farangs and Thais who wanted to go one night and the Thais were denied access to the club with the message "No Thai men allowed in this club". (The 7 Thai guys who were with us were all well dressed rich business types) One of the Thai guys in our group got upset and said this is Thailand, if you don’t want Thais in your club you should open a club in your own country. His uncle is a powerful guy in Chonburi, so... who knows if he told him.

I actually think its pretty bad taste by Insomnia to make this rule. If this was Denmark and they made a club with no access for Danish people, I would trash the club.

  2. My company maintains a list of all real estate brokers in Pattaya.

There are currently 167 active brokers on that list. (most of them very small)

It seems to us that each month 10 of them die and 10 new spring up.

  3. I had the same experience with the Apple istore in The Avenue.

I bought a drive and they promised that it would work on both Mac and PC.

The same day I found out that it didnt, so I went back with the drive to get it changed for another.

The only support I got was a finger pointing on the sign saying "no exchange,no refund".

I find this very strange that a certified Apple istore will screw its costumers like that.

So let me give the same warning....

NEVER SHOP AT THE APPLE iSTORE AT THE AVENUE

  4. .... good thing we still can go to Mikes Shoppingmall and get all our software/clothes/watch/movie copies :-)))

can't see why anyone bothers with this stuff anymore...can download it all free off the net and often better quality and more timely as well

Yessss, bittorrent is such a bliss when it comes to my favorite TV shows that they dont show on any of the 200 channels here :-D

  5. My arguments for why these girls should be removed from Beach Road...

    1) Street girls are outcasts from Beer Bars or blacklisted from Bars for various reasons/crimes.

    2) Street girls with no relations to a bar are usually the ones who steal and drug their costumers

    3) Street girls have no forced doctor check like many bars have. Some of them got fired from their bar because of STD.

    4) A large part of street girls use drugs/jabaa

We have hundreds of gogo's and thousands of bars - plenty of places to go "work it"

There really is no need to hassle those of us who just want a walk along the beach.

    Just my 2 baht

  6. Mickba dont blaim yourself for flashing your gold or driving in the morning. You are not the one doing something wrong here, they are. I am just surprised that you had this happen twice.

In 3 years I been walking everywhere. with flashy gold, early in the morning, all alone - The only danger I have seen was a drunken irishman who threw his frenshfries at me :o

To all you other guys.. do you want us are we all gonna hide like little scared chickens because of some bad elements? Is that what your saying? What about "I wont fly because of terrorists"? Or "I wont drive on the freeway because I could have an accident"? Nope! - not me - Im not gonna hide because of some loser thieves. I didnt do it when I was in Denmark, I didnt do it when I as in US either (a LOT more crime there I might add).

  7. Now lets see...

    - Central Festival (8 billion baht) just finished.

    - Northpoint sold 80% and is right on schedule

    - AD Hyatt (500 condos) sold 70% and is right on schedule

    - Centara Resort Naklua progressing fast (4 bn baht, looks SO cool!)

    - ...etc... even my two companies are growing faster than ever

I even had to call around to 4 hotels just to find available rooms for my 3 clients. (e.g. Aiyara is fully booked 2 months ahead)

So I hear a lot about this crisis but I just don’t see it.

If the crisis is so hard - then where is all the super cheap real estate? where are all the super cheap companies we can buy?

In US they offer 50-60% discounts on real estate in several cities - where are those kind of discounts in Pattaya?

Someone please show me cause I seriously want to buy at that price.

You Mr. doomsday OZEMADE - give us some crisis examples we can use - show us where the cheap stuff is....

  8. Shabu-shi is definately the place for me. 239 for all you can eat here.

We had so much fun graping stuff off the transport band, and we made a sport of not letting any mushrooms or salmon thru for the other table where our friends were sitting further down the band.

This was a very social and fun experience - well worth the money.

But - be prepared to wait, there is always a looong line who want to get in in front of you. When they give you a number its usually a 10-20 min wait if you are 2 persons, or a 30-40 min wait if you are 4 or more persons.

  9. You guys sound like all the people who told me "ha ha ha you want to make money investing in Pattaya? ha ha ha that is impossible ha ha" - and today these people don’t laugh anymore :o

I am Danish, and we are brought up to believe that you can change anything if you put your mind into it.

Imagine if 5 people called this taxi boss every day and complained, if that didn’t work, then we get 20 people to send complaints to the city council, if that doesn’t help then we spam the newspapers with complains... etc..

We have a Danish saying... "publicity and transparency kills corruption".

  10. I called 038 368 113 and talked to a Thai guy who apparently was the boss.

He said that they MUST use meters and promised to give the driver a call and tell him to turn on the meter.

Lets see if it helped - I doubt it, but if enough of us keep calling/complaining I believe that eventually things will change.

  11. Its not so much that they dont turn on the meter - in BKK you also meet these types (well ok, you can always call their boss and complain).

What bugs me the most is that these idiots take up the best parking of The Avenue and they simply DO NOT WANT TO WORK! - I even offered 100 just to go to the Naklua Roundabout and was turned down with "no - 200!", and there was 8 meter taxis waiting.

How can we find the phone number of the responsible person for this. I would like to give him a call and I would also very much like to use his taxi-METER service. I would actually use them very frequently if they used the meter.

  12. Thais don’t have the etiquette of “man down”, “one against one”, “ bare hand against bare hand”, “size and age”. The word coward does not appear in their dictionary…

Classic! Etiquette? This is third world, buddy. Get used to it.

I once saw a guy walking alone in one side of the street, then 4 guys crossed over and for no reason at all they started beating him up. He later died at the hospital. And no that was not Thailand or the 3rd world - that was in safe little Denmark.

There are idiots and losers everywhere, and I have seen more violence during one night on the Copenhagen walkingstreet than I have seen in 2 years in Pattaya walkingstreet.

And if Thailand scares you... take a walk at Crenshaw Boulevard in L.A. - after that Thailand will feel like church.

  13. Ok, this is what my Thai Staff call all the shopping centers.....

    Real Name: Royal Garden Plaza

    Thai Name: "Loyal"

    Real Name: The Avenue

    Thai Name: "Major"

Real Name: Central Center (old one)

    Thai Name: "BIG-C"

Real Name: Central Festival Center (new one)

    Thai Name: "Central Festival"

If you say the thai names to a motorbike driver, he will take you there. If you say the real names he will give you the big "I got no idea what you are talking about" smile, and happily drive you around in circles :-)

  14. Women dancing is always sexy in nature. I was a DJ for 8 years and used to see young teen girls twisting their bodies on the dance floor in order to attract attention from the half drunk blokes standing with their mouths open. If there is a pole involved or not shouldn’t make a difference. Even in ballet they got a pole, they just call it a bar.

One thing is for sure - in my next life I wanna go to a UK school :-D

  15. AirAsia....

    1) You have to pay extra if you have any form of luggage

    2) They will weigh it and weigh your hand luggage and they will charge you a LOT if you exceed the limits

    3) Since there are no numbered seatings, you can buy a "first in row" ticket so you get in the plane with the first group. This cost 250 tbh and is a total waste of money (I tried it)

Air Asia is discount discount discount all the way
