Yep... trump said she couldn’t get her story together.... what a disgusting person he showed himself to be with his mockery (Sorry... proved himself to be)
but I ask you, with some proven 5000 lies to date, can you really believe him?
please tell me what US president you believed.

Trump will win because he's done a great job, nothing to do with this Kavanaugh guy.
Just look at the unemployment figures, the stock market etc. What a great start Trump has made considering he's had to clean up after the worst president, OK equal with baby Bush.
I don't care about Kavanaugh, much ado about nothing..

What might some so-called 'real alcoholic' of the type that posts here have advised?!!!!
Maybe, 'go out until you're under no illusion that your an alcoholic'. Personally, there are low bottom drunks everywhere that can be helped rather than wasting time on 'I drank 3 beers a night and feel sad in the morning' kinda drinkers.

Richard Alpert(Ram Dass) or Bob Marley would say differently.

Dangerous dogs roaming around my house are killed, full stop.
Pit bulls are banned in civilized countries. I've killed 3 in my time here, when my kids were young. I urge others to do the same; owners of dangerous animals should learn.

Those lucky bloody farangs. They could easily have been beaten up very badly. They don't know how close they were. Unbelievable restraint shown by Thai men. As for the farangs, bloody pillocks.
Maybe the Thai men were scared.

Antibooze it was known as in my day. It wouldn't quell the desire for alcohol ...but it would certainly make a person think twice, or three or four times before drinking while taking it. If one was to drink while on it....a violent reaction followed...a reaction one would not forget for the rest of his/her life.
The guy I quoted was talking about those dependent on alcohol aka alcoholics.
Nothing can help these guys apart from a complete psychic transformation, brought about by a spiritual awakening.
I took Antabuse and never drank with it, I just stopped taking the drug when I wanted to drink. I guess it would work if forced, but forced 'sobriety' doesn't count. I went to a halfway house and met a man who had just got out of jail, 15 years, for murder. the second night he went out drinking, which showed me the seriousness of alcoholism. I drank for another 10 years too, despite knowing what was wrong and desperately wanting to quit.

90% of everyone's life is unhappy.
It's the 10% you live for.
(unless you're retarded, they seem happy most of the time)
I'd say I'm happy 90% of the time.
What a sad statistic, did you make that up?

Topiramate, an anti-seizure drug usually prescribed for epileptic patients, is highly effective in helping alcohol-dependent individuals stop drinking.
No it isn't. Most alkies I know didn't quit when using this drug.

i am 70, still drink about 5 pints every other day.
I feel good when I drink, not when I don't.
Not drinking everyday is only a financial matter.
If half of my life was unhappy, I'd do something to change it.

A boy from a new class (I saw him maybe 3 or 4 times for an hour) came up to me and started speaking Thai. After a delay, I gathered that he said which class he is in. A class which I would have later that day.
Friendly, eager to communicate - but also clearly not used to even b a s i c English. (He was in a gifted Science class).
What to do?
I would offer online voice mail (for practice, followed by real conversation later on, if that's possible). Or free 1 on 1 meetings, to make them lose their fear of speaking (one can dream).
Not one student has left me voice mail or tried to call my LINE.
It's tiring and somewhat futile. But young learners often surprise me with amazing comunication skills. Parents seems to make a great effort now and then!
How old are the students?
I have put 4 kids through school in Thailand. If a teacher, especially a foreigner, asked them to phone them, I'd have been straight down to the school, or even the police.

For me no news means frustrating waiting with nothing to update. It has been a long time since someone reported that they got called for their MOI interview. I would love to hear if anyone has been interviewed at all this year. My hope still remains that somehow I’m able to clear the MOI hurdle before a next years elections.

Hi,
Great thread with a lot of info. I'm having a few questions regarding my personal situation.
I'm living and working in Thailand 4 years. I'm officially married to my thai wife for 1.5 years (traditionally married almost 2). My income and taxes paid will not be a problem for the naturalisation process. However since recently I am considering to change my career at some point later on. I might even want to take up a study for a while.
So for me the time the whole application process takes is a consideration in the process. Basically I would have 4 options:
-
Do nothing and have marriage visa if I would stop working
-
Get PR, which would take about a year
-
Get citizenship, which in the best case for what I’ve read would take 2 years, but more likely 3
-
If possible start both the PR and the citizenship process at the same time.
So my questions:
-
Do I need to keep working during the process of both PR and citizenship. I saw some posts which seem to confirm this
-
Would I be able to apply considering I’m married for only 1.5 years?
-
Would it make sense to start both processes, pr and citizenship, at the same time? As sort of a double chance for permanent status
Many thanks
I'd suggest get your Citizenship application in immediately.
Why waster 5 years getting a PR?
It takes 2 + years at the moment, which passes quickly.
You need to keep working for 1 year I'd say after making your application until the Ministry of Interior interview. After that, I think you would get away without having to prove that you're working. It's the 3 previous years that are of utmost importance.
Just my humble opinion.

Wine bottle stops are for people who can drink normally. Believe it or not, many people can drink and not have a physical craving to keep doing so.
