Not sure about 'in peace'. We usually say, 'I cannot concentrate/have no concentration because of the noise', (or whatever is bothering you).

I was thinking he laid his jacket over a mud puddle in the street so the female cats could cross without getting dirties on their paws.

I always feel safe walking around the streets in Bangkok, so I tip every Police Officer I see along the way. They deserve it. 

My GF wants to know why all the cats have a sweater except the white one. She's a bit upset now and claiming it's not fair.

Maybe you're already aware that putting bamboo on a fire can be an explosive experience. Each section is sealed tight and full of air, sounding like a gun when it goes off. To make charcoal you might have to chop or grind the bamboo first before burning intact sections???

Early 1800's to the days of wagon trains, horses, cowboys, indians and gunfights at the OK corral. Before telephones and the modern world as we know it arrived. If you want to visit Thailand, you can cross the ocean on a ship with sails. Now that's adventure!

At night when I wake up to go pee I sit down because I don't want to turn on those blaring lights and blind myself and aim for the pot while still half asleep. In the daytime I pee like a real man. It all averages out over time. All in all I prefer to go pee outside like nature intended, but now I live in the middle of the city.
