What I like most about Thai women is that they find it impossible not to return a smile.

I was slim, fit, well groomed and good looking when I first came here, 17 years ago.

Now, older, overweight, sweaty and dressed like a tramp, I can still get a smile from a pretty girl.

    Life is good.

a smile is fine but if you also get blown off your feet that's even better and about the worst I would wish you:cheesy:

  2. No, Thailand must learn French....would my french acquaintances say....

Nein...the Thai people must leeern German, would my friends in Germany suggest,..

Mama mia...parla italiano you Thai...would the italians say....and so on...

An advised and humble person would say...why not try....try to learn some thai?

  3. Most of my farang acquaintances or friends in Thailand would not refuse a bit of casual pecking with a fine farang lady, but in their deep hearts they definately are more attracted  and tend to cater the very numerous single thai ladies to intimacy.

IMHO one point however may seem worthful to emphasize...be cautious when you date anybody be it Thai or a farang who has a less opulent lifestyle then yours. In other words don't mix the napkins with the rags!  or if you wish if he's more broke then you are - just beware!! This goes for any nationality, in any country. Not a golden rule as you can also run into people of similar social level but who are rip off gurus!!

Of course, nobody is looking for intimate dates but if an occasion does run across, this could be a point for selection.

The rest is just a matter of mutual chemistry and even Freud never found out how it works!!:post-4641-1156694572:

Your in Thailand! Why did you come here? To socialize with westerners? Should have stayed at home.

I came here because of the Thai people not the westerners living here. I couldn't speak Thai. It's not important just get outside where ever you live and mix with the locals. After a week or two you'll start making friends and learning Thai. After a year you'll be semi fluent and have many friends. Just remember the golden rule, don't let them in the house.

why should one not invite them to the house?

Foreign transfer fees are prohibitively expensive from US banks and the exchange rate is bad. I deposit cash into my account when I get to Thailand. It's safer than a hotel safe (which I rarely have anyway)and much cheaper than making endless ATM withdrawals.

Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Your are very correct. Not to mention also that during the transfer the banks in Thailand will screw you on the exchange rate. If you locally look around a bit, you will get a far better rate in changing your foreign exchange directly in a money changing booth rather then do it through bank transfer. If the amount is substantial, so will be be the extra cash you'll get if you do it yourself. Enjoy and Thailand permits to import upto US$ 20'000,-- without having to declare/display your cash to a potentially corrupt customs cowboy at the airport.

It was really easy to open bank account 1 or 2 years ago. At that time I opened bank account on tourist visa without any problems too.

But situation and rules changed. So people who opened account 1 or 2 years ago, and now are comenting here, how easy it is, are providing old info.

True. A friend of mine with a German/European passeport, 30 day visa was refused in every branch he tried in Bangkok, Hua Hin and Phuket,  This was in january 2017.

Relax. So are the finances of Italy, Spain, France. Just to name few. The UK is just in good company.

Thank Buddha, most Thai-Ladies don't know, that by re-locating to such places, all they would get to observe is a continent in economical decline, as opposed to their home-country. Otherwise, they might just prefer to stay in Thailand, ignoring fancy courtship-dances by Farangs with the purpose of luring them to some cold and windy shores.

But, for as long as it last's, it's strictly::partytime2:
    Cheers.

Very true. Europe in on it's downfall and I don't give the Euro monetary zone more then 10 years to last. Ask any taxi driver in spain, france, italy, greece what he thinks of the disastrous  Euro Currency, the European Union and if has improved their standards of living.... and you'll get your answer....

Mazuma filters from HomePro, installation done by local contractor. Very good and he'll offer to visit you and clean filters every few weeks for a fee.

    eSpring bought from Amway separately.

ok thanks a lot. Once installed, the first glass of water will be drunk to your health!!!

We have Mazuma carbon and resin filters to the house.

Drinking water is further filtered using an eSpring water filter, bought from Amway.

The Mazuma filters need backwashing weekly and I recharge the resin filter with brine every two weeks (anyone - is this right?).

The eSpring filters are changed annually.

We initially had a Mazuma RO filter for drinking water but the waste water produced was too much. Missus complained to HomePro who gave a full refund. Pretty good service from them.

    Find the eSpring very good.

Hi, thanks for the advice. You bought these filters from Home Pro?  - Would you recommend installation from Home Pro people or to try elsewhere?

  10. Look at it this way. If you as a farang make say US$ 6'000,-- or US$ 7'000,-- a month in pension or whatever and your new thai girlie makes US$ 100,-- or US$ 200,-- per month, definately make her participate in expenses, but obviously make it proportionate and symbolic!!

If she asks money to support the family, put on your Nikies, turn your heels up and flee!

If each time you walk in a Bankgkok Mall she pulls you into every shop and expects you to finance her shopping spree - flee!!!

If she already has kids - flee!

Make sure she cooks, cleans and gives you good sex!

Never...never put any property or possessions in her name...never!!

Do not forger to make a STD/HIV medical tests before deeper explorations, uncovered!!!!

Make sure she does not have a hidden husband, kids in some lovely, wonderful remote village!

If her family gets over intruisive and starts practically to squat in your home, treat the family with respect, but make it clear to your girlie that you also need your intimate moments with her. If she cares for you, this should not be a problem!

Respect her Thai culture, food and country and see that she also respect's yours!

Never tell her really how much you earn each month!!

Make it clear that if you pass away, your notorised will with a thai attortney stipulates all your possessions/money will go to a member of your family. This will avoid temptations to bump you off in order to hit the jackpot. Never take life insurance in your name, making her the beneficiairy in case you pass away!

And btw, such rules do not apply only for Thai ladies but for any woman from any country in the world. Use common sense pal!!...if you're paying your way to keep the girl, there is definately something wrong. Now, many folks would say it's normal to pay for her family...Am I paranoid with all the above precautions? Who am I to make judgement?....You are free to accept or not, but on the whole, any relationship involving money to finance the girl or her family (your money that is), is a fishy and risky venture! ...Good luck on your quest and enjoy Thailand!
