So the crackdown is on on visa runners through road borders?
Then how will those on METV, 6 month multiple entry tourist visas, with 60 days per entry manage?
Leave the kingdom every 60 days by plane, have some fun for 2 days in Indonesia, spend some money there and get back?

Savings would be good enough to appeal. You would need bank statements showing transfers to here or ATM withdrawals.
Paragraph 3 is a catchall they use when they cannot come up with a better reason for denial of entry.
Even showing you have spent time outside the should be enough to overcome the denial. You having a ticket out of the country to Europe should be enough to prove you are not working here.
I think if more people were to appeal the denials given on baseless grounds it would help prevent such abuse.
Helpful points. What would be the way to appel? On arrival it seems a bit difficult so it means to appel at the Thai Embassy once back home?

I've spent a lot of time in India over the years involved in medical humanitarian work. It was always bad. It's really become hell on earth now. It is a nightmare.
You should also spend some time in the streets of Milan, Madrid, Paris or NYC...full of misery, homeless junkies, east european gangs putting their children and crippled on the streets to beg and similar...sad, I agree with you.

Many wealthy Thais have several homes, but can only be registered in one book at one residence.
They could indeed have a Tabien Baan issued in Bangkok, although their main residence could be Chiang Mai.
It wouldn't be in their best interest to do so however for different reasons.
Many Thais still remain registered in a family Tabien Baan, although they may have married and have their own family and home.
The registration of the Thais in a Tabien Baan is merely a constant population census and nothing to do with ownership.
ok thank you.

So in other words, if one is to get many responses here correct, a person can have his house and live in say Phuket but have his yellow book delivered say from the Amphur in Bangkok despite not living in Bangkok or having any property in Bangkok?

Does the Non-O visa say what it was for? This issue came up in the case of a person questioned entering at an airport with a non-o based on marriage.
I think this is simply a national-security issue. Notice how IOs tend to look at every used-page of your passport when you enter? They are likely scanning not only for detail about your Thai visas, but also for entries to 'countries of interest.' Complete passport histories scanned on every entry to Thailand would be a prudent step (including G8s) - especially for longer/frequent stayers. It would be well worth the extra manpower to have that info on-hand for Thai security-services databases, to combat international orgs with mal-intents.
Your idea is good....but many high level criminals, with ill intents always manage to slip through the screening either with "virgin" passports having no compromising travel history, forged documents or would plainly refrain in using an international airport to enter their target country....ultimately it's the commoners who suffer with the [necessary] hassles at immigration...

What does the Spanish [or the Greek] Consulate say?

International Postal Union's discretion, with charitable tarification policies, towards "developping nations"
But the low/free postage fairytale will soon end, as China is no longer considered at least by IPU standards, as a "developping nation"..
So better clutter up as much rubbish as one can from AliExpress while the party still lasts!!

dont doubt what you say in the slightest; pity tho we have to rely on luck;
civilized countries have clear policies and competent people that 'enforce' them
you are very true!!....in that case, why?......why are we all here quibbling to live long term in Thailand, including myself?

I recall reading some place trustworthy, that the catch is on how you declare the goods on the form. Unless mistaken, they should be mentioned as used personnal effets and not plainly houshold goods...
another option would be to bring small items in check-in luggage if possible, and just pass through customs.. but many are correct here is saying that all depends on the level of honesty of the customs chap on arrival!..They don't seen to give a damn if anybody is CIA, DOD or whatever...hope it get's sorted out for your friend!

On looking at some shipping charges/duty calculations, I think I will just order my stuff back home in Europe and bring it back in my plane luggage when I return to thailand for my annual 6 month break!!..Seems the best and cheapest option!

Did you ever have any issues with Thai customs on your parcels from Ali Express? Do they charge unrealistic duty?
In which area are you to have such a fine postal serivice?
-
Best also would be to ask your embassy what they need as it will avoid unnecessary back and forth trips...
I would also check with my bank accounts and inform my bank immediately as well as my credit card issuing companies...
Think also how and where you could have lost it? At home? Did you bring somebody back to your place? Anybody close to you having interests on your accounts? think it over just in case....stay safe and good luck!

For packages as opposed to letter mail -- Shipito.com Economy Airmail service. Averages about $12 per pound to send US to Thailand.
No issues with the parcels being held up by Thai Customs charging exorbitant duty rates or claiming extra invoicing/documentation?

really really....the day they put up for sale a 10 year visa say for US$ 50'000,-- that stops all this periodical reporting....it will be a blast!!..

There is no 60 day reporting.
As far as I am aware all offices provide a receipt for 90 day reports.
you are right, my mistake...60 day deadline is for the visa runners right?
-
Does immigration in every area give a clear slip on 60 or 90 day reporting that clearly mentions when the next reporting is due?
-
Looks like whenever dealing with the Police or Immigration, it could be useful to wear a discreet hidden body cam that records the whole issue...the footage would later be unconditionnal proof on making a complaint with the corrupt fellow's superiors in Bangkok......
Of course it won't radically change things, but on a lower lever these boys may get aware that they can be filmed anytime, anyplace, and may stop the corruption scams at least on the street counter level...these mini body cams are all over the net...just pick up something real discreet and go for it!!

No. As mentioned above, if you need to keep your existing permission to stay valid when leaving and returning to Thailand, you must get a reentry permit before leaving (1,000 baht single reentry permit or 3,800 baht for a multiple reentry permit). There is nothing to be paid when you come back to Thailand.
ok thanks, good to know.

Does one have to pay something in these visa runs when re entering Thailand?...I mean officially?
-
Amazon and ebay are flooded with stuff that would surely include something to satisfy yowou?
Depends on the make of your smartphone, the bike and where you want to mount it.
But I am not sure how it would go through customs without hassle, or the Thai postal service in your area...? ? ?

No intent to stray off topic, but the blue house book is not enough?...As for the yellow book, depending on the area, it seems a mission impossible!!??

They are not slaves and can leave some weirdo/abusive Farang at any time and it is very easy for a Thai to get a non-Thai in all kinds of shit if they feel wronged. Why are they staying with such a sort? Obviously for some sort of final payout. Skydiving is not a popular hobby in places like Pattaya for no reason. Where I have sympathy is for Thai women who are stuck with an abusive Thai partner where sometimes a break in relationship is simply extremely risky to her and possible any children involved in the relationship. Of course that is very much a minority also.
A man or a woman, farang or what so ever, living here or there, gets into one bad relationship, it is a pity.
The same man or a woman, gets into a second bad relationship, it is sad.
A man or a woman, then gets into a third bad relationship, it's disturbing....and so on..
At the xxth toxic relationship, something is wrong....
Something or perhaps nothing can be changed in this picture with the "bad" person in the couple.
The problem and solution would be in the hands of the "victim" as his/her deep inner distressed mental schematical patterns, attract the wrong people.
What is the point here? Clinical assessment and therapy can help to cease cluttering up relationships with the wrong person, to asses one's own inner demons that in turn, can cease attraction on the wrong people. Unconsciously, there is a form of congruence towards the implicit and deeper mental patterns of individuals, that are either healthy or toxic, that mutually occur during the attraction process.
But then, go and convince anybody in poverty or medium level of education, in the virtues of psychotherapic help....these are western world habbits, that unfortunately are only accessible to the wealthy, in nations that have poverty.
