Pita’s shocking family secrets exposed in IG post controversy
Former Prime Minister Mark Abhisit Vejjajiva was born in the UK and still became PM. He still holds British citizenship. At least Pita was born here.

Further Privileges Anticipated For ‘Untouchable’ Thaksin After Release On Parole
What's the point in being richer than a farang pensioner if one has to follow the hoi polloi? Wealth is power, power creates wealth. The trick now is to re-enter politics while looking sick. Tough one.

It is good to see America introducing universal healthcare. Wish it wasn't only for the White House.

Bank of Thailand urged to slash interest rates amid economic struggle
I suppose raising rates will impact those with loans now, which suddenly become expensive (unless fixed rate). I am simply guessing that raising rates will create more non-performing loans in this case. I wonder sometimes if it isn't always the interest rates that affects economic growth but also the quality of the borrowers, who shouldn't have been allowed to get into debt in the first place.

Flight fright: Panic-stricken passenger causes turbulence at Chiang Mai Airport
I assume a panic attack is something serious and hard to control by the victim. Some sympathy for him is due. Unless it wasn't a panic attack and he just decided not to wait.

Thai abbot allegedly rapes 7 year old girl, police ignore case
I couldn't find the age of the grandmother but if she was in her eighties, she may have been taking her life in her hands to video the rape as she could have been beaten severely and the video destroyed. The fact that she had a video and the police did nothing is the incredible part.

Thai teacher sexually assaults at least 3 schoolgirls aged 10
It seems like Thailand is yet another "hub", this time a hub of kiddie fiddlers. As long as the police do their job the matter will go away until the next time, more's the pity.

British Tourist Dies After Fall from Pattaya Hotel
Never heard of any country where so many people fall from balconies. The Costa del Sol in Spain comes to mind. So many drunken tourists but no headlines about regular defenestration.

Thai parties unite to amend Referendum Act for easier constitution change
The article should have mentioned the three issues. What I am puzzling with is, if a law says, perhaps indirectly. "you cannot change this law" and you try to change it so that it says instead, "you can change this law" are you breaking the law by trying to change it?

Constitutional Court Already Turned Into ‘Superpower’ Agency: Academic
I don't know if I understand this correctly, but why do people think the court should be elected by the people or do what the people wants? The constitution and the laws of the land inform the court what can be done or not done. If the constitution contains clauses protecting any institution, that is what the court must follow. I don't see they can choose to ignore or change the constitution at the beck and call of "the people" . Perhaps the court can interpret, to clarify something, but it would be duty bound to follow the law wouldn't it? Perhaps the fault is with the writers of the constitution, but a new government would still have to be cautious of breaking the current law while trying to rewrite it.

Thai Airways sues over passenger’s flight diversion criticism
How to destroy the reputation of a company. 1. Sue your customers if they get upset. 2. Don't reply to customers to explain the reason for a change to the paid service. A lawyer does that best. 3. When the customer retracts the criticism after receiving an explanation sue anyway because nothing teaches good manners better than a court where all future customers can see how vindictive you are.

Free market economy? But China subsidizes its steel and Thailand would never dream of that...
