  1. As he is a convict I doubt he has many rights, especially if MPs want to inspect his room.
  2. Fewer people will lead to fewer laborers for the rich to exploit. However, if Thais were well educated they could get laborers from other countries to do the grunt work.
  3. The number of westerners is still small compared to the local Chinese. The Chinese effectively colonized Thailand around the start of the Rattanskosin period by being the first to open shops then ensuring a grip on all commerce. I doubt local westerners of Thai nationality are going to start banks and malls here.
  4. It is the only way of getting cars off the streets. Still need more destinations too.
  5. So many times I read about pit bull attacks where the owner later says they don't know what happened and the dogs are big softies, like lambs, wonderful with the kids and so on. The fact they murdered a passer by kind of says something different.
  6. Improve education and start new tech companies, stop relying on fickle tourists.
  7. I am amazed how much money this government is planning to waste. Don't they have advisers to tell them what will happen if the country goes bust?
  8. Hmm, lower household debt by offering more debt? But cheaper than loan sharks, who can be paid off by using these government loans.
  9. If only trains went close to everyone’s destination.
  10. They love it when someone gives it a go. I get confused looks sometimes though.
  11. Seems like he can’t handle his drink. Perhaps go back to milk in future.
  12. Well, ok. Got your point. Porn had existed since before Roman times, e.g. Pompeii, which was an R&R center, had porn on the city walls. The Greeks liked young boys etc. Showering with classmates after rugby in my youth was accepted and there was no shame in seeing naked bodies. However, whereas pedophilia was more accepted in history, society has moved away from it. People associate children watching porn with nascent moral corruption. I don't agree, as you, that it has a huge effect but I haven't seen any research on it yet
  13. Not so much about female dominance as they still suffer from inequality in many EU countries. More to do with The Children(TM) who cannot control their curiosity.
  14. Excellent, that is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for that. I am interested mainly in what is the ultimate decision-making body for insurrection by a president rather than immunity (though that is related). I assumed there would be a SCOTUS decision eventually. Yes, the Nixon pardon implied he wasn't immune.
  16. Maybe set up a joint company to invest in drilling and share the results 50-50?
  17. So you're saying that SCOTUS could find him innocent but the Colorado decision would stand?
  18. The dissenting judge may have had a point. Trump has yet to be tried and found guilty of insurrection (everyone says he did it in the court of public opinion), the due process he mentioned. Wouldn't it be better to have a federal court trial and found guilty than these state trials? If for instance the supreme court of the US finds that he didn't create an insurrection, where would Colorado be then? Just wondering.
  19. This change seems to be aimed at losing alcohol sales as no one sees it as an advantage to buy in town. Lowering prices domestically would be one way of encouraging shopping but I don't think anyone's considered it as the government would lose tax revenue.
  20. I feel sorry for the mother. She is being punished by her son's actions too.
  21. I don't think the court is that sympathetic to the yellow shirts. They caused a huge economic loss to the country. I do think the wheels of justice grind slowly here so I would expect these bozos to get some prison time eventually. Just my opinion.
  22. Nice if Thailand adds more variety of manufacturing here, especially modern tech. However, the abysmal state of public education here won't get the population ready for a generation or two. I am sure most politicians think they can upgrade students in a few months.
  23. I guess the Thai people already believe money can buy happiness.
