Thai U-Turn on Cannabis: Protests and Lawsuits Loom
Donbuie3 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
More likely recriminalised due to the uptake in use by Thai youngsters, so they have a valid point. -
A 'Pint' just isn't a real Pint in Thailand.
Donbuie3 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Thailand was never part of the British Empire and in fact was used as a buffer between the British Malaya and French Indochina (Vietnam). Thailand nominally adopted the metric system in 1923 and the Americans used Thailand for R&R during the Vietnam war, so any historical reference to a pint would likely be to the smaller U.S. pint. Not sure if there are any Gary Lineker pubs in Bangkok, Pattaya, Krabi or Chiang Mai but maybe they’d have what you seek? -
British Tourist Warned Over Criticism of Thailand Online

Off his anti-psychotic drugs perhaps? Indulged in too much of the legalised cannabis? Eating the wrong sort of mushrooms? -
Thailand offers visa-free travel to Russian visitors for 3 months
Donbuie3 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Headline is a bit misleading, in that for 3 months during low season, Russian tourists will be able to enter Thailand visa free for a period of 60 days. They are currently permitted to enter visa free for a period of 90 days. -
Blocked From Enter Thailand

Why doesn’t he apply for a visa in Norway? If he gets one surely he will get into Thailand? If he doesn’t get one he can see if the ladies in Cambodia, Vietnam or the Philippines are more submissive! -
I was at that temple when a Chinese lady tried to feed a monkey a bag of crisps. The monkey snatched at the bag and it fell to the ground. When the lady tried to pick up the bag the monkey tried to attack her. Fortunately I was able to make a grab at the monkey’s tail, which distracted it and likely saved her from getting bitten or scratched.

Vibhavadi road accident: Fatal big bike crash stirs public concern
Donbuie3 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Big bikes used to be the vehicle of choice for ex-pats mainly and often on the routes South from Hua Hin to oil related destinations, where they worked or transited offshore to the Gulf of Thailand. After being out of Thailand for majority of the Covid period, I see on returning that a lot of locals have big bikes now and indeed some very shapely young leather clad ladies amongst them! I suspect that road users in general are not used to the speed and lower visibility of these bikes, in common with many other countries. My wife’s male cousin owned a big bike several years ago, in the Ubon Ratchathani area. Unfortunately he too fell victim in a road accident, leaving a young wife and two young kids without a husband and father. -
Quite right. No need to play the left WOKE agenda and give it legitimacy. There are only 2 sexes, with the exception perhaps of obscure, medical, rarities, who don’t appear to be parading around dressed in all the colours of the rainbow!

Beach beating: Thai transwomen assault foreigners in Pattaya

Is that the ‘in vogue’ new name for lady boys? Anyone seeking sexual favours for a price on Beach Road, get exactly what they deserve! -
Unfortunately I’ve seen too many tourists with no motorcycle experience, hiring and riding motorcycles. The locals have been on motorcycles, likely since they were 10 or 11 years old but there are so many serious accidents and fatalities among them too, so experience is no guarantee of safety. My wife has lost at least two male cousins through motor cycle accidents and another left a paraplegic, who eventually committed suicide due to the condition. Lately the trend seems to be towards big motor cycles with the locals rather than the usual 110 and 125cc models so that’s not going to end well either.
