Sometimes, when they close the Pattaya Klang road to the beach section from Second Road they make everyone take a detour right so it is very possible that a baht baht might traverse a small Soi full of passengers while making such a detour but, as has been pointed out, they normally run a set route as would a normal bus in other places so you have your answer and this topic can be //CLOSED//

When I lived in Malaysia, I was given a stuffed eagle which I use very effectively to keep pigeons off the balcony by just leaving it visible.
Later, I had a buddy who used those cheap kids windmills on his balconies which did the trick.
These ideas might be practical if a falcon can't be found.

Information seems to be that it moves day by day for a while longer...... Ban Muang to Rayong, to Sattahip but officially is should over in Jomtien but perhaps NaJomtien will see some activity.

Perhaps you mean it is not the place you wish to die.
The reality must surely be that folks die daily in every city everywhere in many varied ways but may not get media mention as is the norm in Pattaya when foreigners die.

I guess it depends where you live or where you go and what you ride or drive. I can only give my own perspective. I avoided the mad areas and where I live it was minimal inconvenience in my car.

I agree. Seeing people having fun is great and its only once a year that we are inconvenienced for a few days if we don't want to join in.
Not that I condone foreigners going too far in thinking it is just a water war.

My understanding is that the act of dressing up as a woman is not in itself a crime nor is solicitation but any subsequent act of prostitution is.

Foreign Police Volunteers do not "handle" cases but may be a bridge in language and/or procedure terms between Thai officers and foreigners within the station.
As earlier suggested, miscommunication seems to have led to misunderstanding by the foreigners on what was said and thus their story afterwards.
As also mentioned earlier, both parties would be considered in the wrong so any fine was valid but again not given by anyone but a Thai officer.

In most places around the world, the degree to which you defend yourself has to be proportionate to the attack and much being related to the degree of things being life threatening to begin with.
As I understand the case in question, both parties were or will be fined as, under Thai law, both hit the other - and the Thai aggressors may even face jail

Sunday visitors, Songkran's main day in Pattaya, and roadworks all combine so I would not expect anything different quite frankly.

Glad you are having fun, but the topic is about a death and that calls for some decorum. Thank you.

1) police do allow for self defence
2) however, any case of someone slapping or hitting someone does indeed incur a 500 baht fine
3) I personally do not believe this story as it is told

Have not been today but last year Sukhumvit was total grid lock and you might have more chance going along railway line and turning on to Sukhumvit around KaoTalo area.
My advice is wait until tomorrow but if you have go, prepare for road chaos.

As I see it, the "promoted" Thailand the cartoon suggests are just slices of life here just as the "hidden" Thailand are just slices and not at all representative.
