Perhaps those who have issues with reporters' language use should take it up with the original source.

ThaiVisa just re-prints news and does not write it and commenting here on language issues serves little purpose.

Looking at picture Suicide it isn't notice front fender damage possible hit and run so murder might be better call.

The article did say this ....

"Later she fled from the hospital before taking her car from home and crashed into many people as she fled. The police tried to catch her but couldn’t. Later she was found dead in a burning car."

Not unusual for a female police officer to get involved in a female's death but ThaiVisa is not responsible for the reporter's words.

A sensible answer has already been briefly given - the East side of Sukhumvit Road. That is perhaps explained easier by saying it is the opposite side of Sukhumvit Road from the main city side and covers areas like Ngern Plab Wan, Khao Talo, Siam Country Road etc. and spreads as far as the Crocodile Farm on the other side. The term has no real meaning outside of being Pattaya residents' easy reference to this large expanse of the map that is away from the more visible city area.

Well that properly buggered up the potential longevity and humor of this thread.
