  2. which GTI are you using out of interest?
  3. i've lived in France for years driving RHD motors.......I actually like it cos I can see how close to the ditch I am when I'm 'tear arsing' around the cuntryside ????
  4. so far I'm concluding I can live off 10-15 quid a day, don't drink, don't smoke, cycle every day, living off OMAD, fifties, underweight and pretty fit.... not bothered about health insurance, I'll do my own 'health' thanks v.much and not the complete sh!te they peddle on the teLIEvision, yes I've recently been back in the UK and seen what 'legal drugs' they're pushing ????(why is everyone like a house end?) ???? PS oh yeah don't do sugar n carbs either ????
  5. that looks really nice, are you taking in lodgers? ????
  6. must admit I keep looking at those things when I'm out cycling and think 'camper', I could sleep in one pretty much full time then I don't even need accomodation lol You can buy second hand cars for next to nothing in Japan, just such a shame it's virtually impossible to then import em into Thailand......might look at shipping one to France.......what do I look out for going wrong? cheers
  7. how much? a bloke was telling me the other day that some of them fiddle the 800k deposit 'proof' so you don't actually have to put the 800k in, is this the case here?
  8. 90 day what, reporting? with a visa? a border run is normally for folks who enter 'visa exempt' like me, methinks
  9. he might fancy a nice train journey......
  10. Alternative: How do I get from Pattaya to Cambodia? Bus, train via Chachoengsao Take the bus from Pattaya to Chachoengsao. Take the train from Chachoengsao Junction to Ban Klong Luk Border.
  11. this is interesting from google maps, they reckon it's 12 baht on the train lol, have to get to Bangkok first though
  12. try these guys, I was looking at buying something cheap from Japan.....they ship to France, Le havre might be your nearest port https://www.cma-cgm.com/products-services/flyers
  13. ok, I did a test overnight and slept without the aircon from 11pm, it was fine I'll post this here for future reference, I came across the inspiration for this project a few years ago and actually have a never used DPS5020 but it's in a different country https://gitlab.com/larsfp/esphome-mppt
  14. Visa? you don't need a visa to buy a bike afaik, just 'certificate of residence' otherwise known as TM.18 I believe I nearly went to Hua Hin last week, it's still on my todo list lol
  15. wow interesting stuff cheers, talking of stringy fellows, those 250Ah batteries weigh more than me!! ????
  16. hi I'm cycling around on a push bike at the moment, just exploring options for settling here longer term...... if it's dirt cheap I'll come down and do a deal with you.....pm me if you wanna exchange contact info....
  17. actually I've just had a 'recollection' lol.......I remember those 'DIY aircon' using a 'foam box' full of ice and a hole in the top with a fan...... i know I'm sounding like a tramp but I haven't even found anywhere to live yet........I'm really interested in living a simple off-grid life.... I just bumped into a guy on a bike ride this morning and he was convincing me I don't need a car........just look at those 9-10baht bags of ice you can buy too.....cheaper in bulk surely? I've seen guys delivering them on motorbikes!!! ????
  18. cheers, how many watt/hours or whatever they call it are you hoping to get? i'm trying to calculate how many I need to run say 250watt draw overnight, so say 12 hours which means I need 3kWh......ooh that sounds like a lot......maybe if I got my overnight usage down to 1kWh say, so 50% battery discharge I can get away with 2kw of batteries?
  19. hi, thanks for input......as I'm 'exploring' I'm just between places on airbnb and agoda at the moment so haven't even decided on a 'semi-permanent' place even i'm just thinking 'small place', small aircon, small fridge (i'm doing OMAD, cycle every day and generally live off Thai street food)........lights are a non-issue to me, as the circa 8watt bulbs don't take any power and I can buy LEDs....and I don't even like hot showers anymore!!! cheers!
  20. very interesting, how much did you pay for them? cheers
  21. ok I''m over here 'exploring on my bike' lol let's say I wanted to live 'off grid' with my collection of bikes including an ebike or 2.... if I got say 2 x 340w* panels, what sort of battery setup would i need to power an aircon unit and small fridge overnight? And a recommended MPPT controller? I recall i think it was @Crossy bought some amazingly cheap LifePO4 batteries from somewhere online a while ago, still deals available? thanks! *I know that's not a lot, I'm a minimalist nowadays lol
  22. ha ha! bonjour, je suis anglais, mais normallement j'habite en France......des ordinateurs que je mentionee ci-dessus etait en France et le router de Orange... Bon journee!! PS those fire sticks are pants, as soon as you install some VPN software on them, it confuses the hell out of em lol
  23. again I would use a 'modded' Android TV box with armbian on it, it turns it into a 'small linux computer' then you can do 'anything' with them! google, hold on I'll finf it....this is the thread' *************** awesome lol https://forum.armbian.com/topic/26978-csc-armbian-for-rk3318rk3328-tv-box-boards/page/44/
  24. as a bit of FYI, I have used hacked android TV boxes to run kodi and IPTV and it generally works great cos you can install zomboided VPN on it... I have a gorgeous looking Samsung TV in another cuntry, they spy on you, I also used a router with openvpn on it briefly and reverted back to the original cos the ISP throttled it from a rock steady 95meg link to about 60meg........you can 'bypass' some stuff by configuring your own DNS stuff ie Adguard DNS server is very good
  25. good point batman, that'll teach me to 'skim read' ???? PS easy to enter the UK, just get into a dinghy and everything gets handed to you on a plate, including free accommodation ????
